Lamb, which is extremely tough and the bread is cold and hard

The food portions were not filling at all the lettuce looks like something small children will eat. It looks very thrown together. The portion sizes are tiny It was not what was expected. I did not expect the meat to be wrapped in aluminum foil. The presentation was horrible. I'm already annoyed just looking at the food. They say people eat with their eyes and I am already disgusted.

Food, services and ambiance are all good at Symeon's. We stopped by for lunch and had the Souvlaki lunch, of which we preferred the lamb over the pork. The portions were just right for lunch and reasonably priced.

Friend sent me some wonderful spices from NY | seasoned leg of lamb

My friends know I love a good seasoning blend especially, a Mediterranean or Middle Eastern one. The spices used are fragrant, slightly sweet with stronger flavors which I tend to prefer. So when a friend read an article about the Top 10 spices to have in your kitchen, she sent me 2 - 9.5 oz (sandwich-size resealable bag) of this Greek seasoning all the way from Yorkville, New York. The package lists only 5 ingredients but based on the flavor it seems like a lot more! I've already used for marinating a leg of lamb, grilled it and wow, delicious! Symeon's spice blend can be used for all kinds of meats including poultry and fish and 3 tbls of the blend along with oil and red wine vinegar makes a nice Greek Dressing. I was recommend to stop in at Symeon's for a meal by Utica's mayor's brother and they did not disappoint. The restaurant seemed to be pretty busy at 7pm on a Saturday night but they were able to sit me down quickly. Wasn't sure what to order so I asked the waiter and he pointed me to the Souvlaki and the Mousaka. Between the two, I opted to get the Souvlaki & pair it with some Grape Leaves (Dolmades). The grape leaves came out quickly and really flavorful. Followed by the Souvlaki, a bed of rice topped with greek skewer(s). That first bite woke up some neurons and I finished the whole dish quickly. I 100% would recommend this spot! @phidingthefam

Wings

This place replaced cavallos for best wings in the area. Also decent wine for a beer joint. #Witherfall

My wife and I stopped here Friday based on a recommendation from a local. We were not disappointed, the staff were very friendly and the food was really good. I ordered the fish fry and my wife ordered Spanakotiropita and Dolmades with Tzatziki Dip. We shared a piece of Baklava. Just good food at good price. Nice clean family restaurant.

No one was there, maybe it's just quiet on Wednesdays. I ordered a mixed meat gyro with fries and canned soda, and a piece of Galaktobureko. I took my food to go. The gyro was big, nice thinly sliced red onions, lettuce and tomatoes, perfect amount of tzatziki sauce. Pita was warm and soft; it didn't over take the wrap. The dessert was very enjoyable. I had not experienced a custard filled philo and will definitely order again. I overheard the owner cooking my order say his mom, also an owner from what I gathered, makes the desserts. Check this place out for sure!

The place is in a little strip of shops and if you're not careful, you can drive right by it! The two staff working there were friendly and the place itself was clean and quiet. I ordered a falafel gyro with some rice pilaf on the side. I have had many falafel gyros around here and I can honestly say this was one of, if not the, best I've had. It had a perfect amount of everything and the falafel itself was super crispy but also fluffy on the inside. The rice was great, too! On my way out I grabbed some baklava for the road and it was phenomenal! I cannot wait to come back or order some take out very soon!
