Service was okay once the sever came. I think there was a mix up because we sat outside. Portobello appetizer was very good, even our kids enjoyed them very much. Entrees were okay. Waffles for the kids had a heavy vanilla taste and the kids Mac and cheese was okay. The kids meal was good value though. I had the pork schnitzel which was okay and my wife had the chicken bowl which was okay. Overall it was just okay..not bad but not exceptional. Dessert: Brownie cheesecake was very good - not too sweet. Kid's Sundae was 6/10 good..but the whipped cream was very good.

But..... my gosh. The dishes looked nice. My niece said her food was okay. Her cousin said his food was overcooked. My dish was trash, my gosh, I couldn't stomach the taste. The salmon was tough, tasted bad, rank. The seasoning was weird and didn't pair well. It had some kinda spice that tasted odd. I don't even know what to say about it. But later that night I was throwing up well into the morning. I only eat possibly 3-4 small bites, most of the dish was left back. I still tipped and didn't complain as I just wanted the kids to have a nice night without arguing with whoever. As I write this I am reminded of the disgusting taste. NEVER again for that dish! Now that I think about it I honestly shouldn't have tipped. Paying for that dish was already above and beyond!

This place blew off all my "food truck place = no delicacy/boring" equation. We visited: # Masala Bar (for Pani Puri & Samosa Chaat) # Pierogie Bros (for Perogiechos) # Lowlands (for organic, stone baked vegetable sourdough pizza) # Yorkilicious (for Sunday dinner Yorkshire pudding) ALL were delicious. My highlight is Masala Bar's Samosa Chaat. It is basically a salad mixed with chopped veggie samosa with fresh veggies, herbs and chickpeas, sprinkled with coriander and tamarind pastes. Mix it up - it is a complete meal. Yorkilicious was another mind-blowing one, HUGE pudding with tasty mashed potato, gravy and generous amount of roasted beef. I am addicted. Lowlands' pizza's presentation (cooking in their wood fire oven in front of customers) is also impressive and entertaining, yes, I love their sourdough pizza. They use freshly grown vegetables that are placed beside the oven. I have been to "food truck festivals" in Durham region before but my experiences have been quite negative. Usually I was disappointed, as most trucks were offering food only to attract those who look for quick comfort food like mediocre pizza, burgers, hot dogs, fries or mac & cheese. But Oshawa Food Truck Corral is offering the whole different/exciting/diverse experience. Will come back before it closes before winter!

A couple Saturdays ago, I was running a few errands. Once I was done, I felt like visiting a diner for lunch. I did a search and found Poached Dreams Diner in Aurora. I didn't mind driving up from Markham to check it out. It was straightforward getting here. I parked in the parking lot and walked in from what looked like the back of the diner. There's also a front door with a patio that faces Wellington Street East. I was immediately greeted by a young, enthusiast woman. I let her know that I needed a table for one. She got me to a comfortable booth by the window. The catch is that you have to watch your step to get to your seat. It's a treat when I have breakfast out. I thought that I'd be getting french toast. Well, all that changed when I saw a heading for comfort foods on the menu. Nothing makes me happier than seeing open-faced sandwiches on a menu. It was probably during my days living in Winnipeg that I fell in love with such sandwiches and at least a side. New goal: come here and have every open-faced sandwich on the menu. I got cold water to start. It was refreshing and much needed after running errands. I ordered these items for my meal: - Diet Coke (2) - Hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and veggies My Diet Coke came with a glass with ice. I loved it. I wish the can was larger! I needed a second can for dessert. I loved my hot turkey sandwich. There was a generous amount of sliced turkey smothered in sauce over a slice of white bread. I got to choose my starch. I went with mashed potatoes. There was enough gravy over the turkey that I dunked my spoonfuls of mashed potatoes into it. I loved the steamed veggies. They were perfectly cooked. They also went into the gravy. The meal was delicious. I'd order it again. I felt like dessert. I asked if there was any. Baklava with pistachios. I said yes. I thought that it would be a square or rectangle. Nope. I got a roll. Cool! It was perfect. It had the right amount of honey. It was crispy and yummy. So good! I paid my bill at the table. I tipped and then tapped my credit card. I elected to have the receipt texted to my phone, which also signed me up for its points program. Yay! I learned that this diner has been open since June 2025. I'm always late to any party because I seem to live under a rock or in a cave. I'm glad that I visited this eatery. Great food. Great service. Great! I used the washroom before I left. The women's washroom was clean and had a full-length mirror. This eatery is huge. It looks like there's a cafe for those grabbing coffee and maybe a snack before leaving. I look forward to returning for more good eats and drinks. (148)

Very helpful and pleasant people. I wanted something small, so opted for their pork tacos. You get 3 small pork tacos for $14.75, which is pretty good in terms of value. They were surprisingly meaty, and tasted decent. They would probably make a good sharing item for the table as they were quite salty. Now, if this were a taqueria, I would not be impressed with the tacos. So if you are expecting "proper" tacos, don't order them. Go to a taqueria, lol. But this is a corporate chain pub in a city, whose main goal is to make a large swathe of people happy. So within this context, I think they did a good job. I would totally be ok to come back and try something else another time. I also had a local hazy IPA which was lovely. Overall, it was a good experience and I would go there again.

We were running out of cold cuts at home, so we decided to check this place out! Stepping in, I was a bit disappointed by the very small selections of cold cuts. HOWEVER, I was intrigued by the unique and interesting line up of hot food menu back of the store. We bought : # Frozen Perogies (cottage cheese & potato) # Weiners # Cooked Perogies (Cottage cheese & Potato, AND Sauerkraut & mushroom) # Pork Shish Kabob # Croquette Ohhh my gosh. The pork Shish Kabab was delicious and delicate! Chunky Juicy tender loin pork cuts were skewered, breaded and pan fried to golden brown. The meat was super tender, full of herb-y aroma. "A burst of flavour in every bite" it says, that is true! Another wow goes to Croquette. Savory meat stuffing (chicken and pork) was rolled in a soft crepe, breaded and fried. Layers of textures (crispy, chewy and tender) to enjoy. Nice aroma. It is going to make a perfect comfort food!!!!!! Perogies are good as well, chewy soft wrapper. I liked mushroom and sauerkraut one. The mushroom neutralised the tangy-ness of sauerkraut to hit the perfect balance of the two. Although I wanted more fillings overall in terms of wrapper & stuffing balance/ratio, the flavour was really good. Wieners were another impressive one. It looks like an ordinary wiener, and I thought it was a bit pricey compared to other places. But when I cooked it I knew why. Delicate! The case was very very thin, I heard high pitched "crisp" when I bit into it. The meat was smooth and juicy, seasoned with a hint of herb-y aroma, which made this wiener stand out from others. Near the casher, there was a sampling dish for sourdough bread. They told me it is freshly baked by a local, independent baker. It was delicious, the best sour bread that I have had in Durham region so far. I did not buy it this time as I still have sour bread at home, but I will definitely purchase next time. They have many locally-made selected food items on the shelves. From today's experience made me want to check their cold cuts next time. Although the variety was small, each item may be carefully selected one. Very happy to find this place!!
