My car stopped working at a school…read moreparking lot and initially I had called the A1 Taxi to pick me up at the school parking lot, unsure if I was going to able to get a tow truck to get my car, but then I was able to secure a tow truck and I had to call A1 Taxi again to change the pick up location. The taxi driver was patient and kind and picked me, my husband and my kids up in a timely manner and the taxi ride was very afforadable. I plan to hold on to this business information for future use and I recommend A1 Taxi services.

Scheduled the day before with owner for 4:30am pickup from my hotel to the airport for a 6am…read moreflight. He said "one of my guys will see you tomorrow morning." Next morning, it's 4:35am and no taxi. I call their number, there's a pause, which tells me he totally forgot about me, and says "my car broke down, let me see what I can do, if my sister can come and get me, I can pick you up with the truck (?), I can probably be there in 30 minutes, I'll call you back in 10 minutes ..." OMG! I have a flight that starts boarding in 50 minutes, and he's calling back in 10 minutes! I gave him the benefit of a doubt as there's no other way to get to the airport ... no Ubers this early. Nothing. You can guess how this ends. "Sorry, not gonna make it" I guess I should have been dubious when he didn't ask for a name or phone number upon scheduling the pickup. Long story short, I woke up hotel manager and he drove me to the airport in his own car ... and I gave him the money that this taxi company was going to charge me. I made my flight with 15 minutes to spare. Perhaps if you need a ride to the grocery store, this taxi company will be fine. But I certainly wouldn't use them for anything important like trying to make an early morning flight. Life is too short for this type of aggravation ... and what's the point of supporting a business that's not reliable?

It was 11 PM, I was coming off a flight into Bloomington/Normal and there were no Ubers available…read morefor me. Franki with Rides Unlimited totally saved me that night. Rides Unlimited is a private driving service that serves Bloomington/Normal 24 hours a day. Franki and her husband are always on call and can pick you up from any destination in town. I told Franki that I needed to get to a hotel across town and she was on it! She knew how to get there, and even showed me how to easily get to another place that I needed to visit the following morning. Franki was such a sweetheart and very fun to ride with. Not only that, but her driving was perfect. I felt comfortable riding in the back seat. The prices are very fair. It cost me $25 to get across town, which was absolutely a reasonable price. Please do keep in mind that Rides Unlimited only accepts cash, Cash App or Zelle. When I was ready to head back to the airport, I didn't even bother with checking the ride-share apps. I called Franki to schedule a drop off and she was at my location on time. When I'm back in town, I know who I'm going to call to help me get to my destination.
