I worked with Attendant care for around 2-3 years. I got a call often in the middle of the night or…read moreon my day off almost 3 times a week. No one ever showed up to work. The punishment for staff call in's were to cut everyone's hours (EVEN THE PEOPLE THAT NEVER CALLED OFF!)The call ins were out of control. The management was composed of two unlicensed, young women who were not RN's or even CNA's. The company always hired incompetent staff, who often couldn't even count pills during narcotic count. (I'm not exaggerating.) They often left staff only half-way trained before throwing them on the floor often causing medication errors. (Speaking of which, they passed medication out of TOTE BAGS WITHOUT THEIR MARS PRESENT, and UNAWARE of the medication they were giving.) They were giving insulin injections the wrong way, and also giving blood-thinning injections improperly. When management was informed that the newly trained staff was not ready to work alone, management always ignored it and put them on the floor regardless. The staff would leave the resident's room a mess and often left patients in clothes for more than one day. They missed medication frequently, left medication in patients rooms, and were even given other patients medication! Residents were often scolded for pushing their emergency buttons, and even would leave them waiting because they were "just playing games." They were caught regularly sleeping on shift and spent the majority of the time fighting with each other instead of working together as a team. The pay is very low, and they have no benefits.The assistant manager tried to address these issues, but the main person in management ignored all of the issues and didn't take any warning. This company does not comply with state regulations, and will be kicked out of the facility (windemere park) that they are currently working in as of November 2013. DO NOT LET THEM IN YOUR HOMES. YOU NEVER KNOW WHO THEY WILL BE SENDING. THESE PEOPLE ARE OFTEN NOT CERTIFIED. THEY ARE PEOPLE OFF OF THE STREET WITH NO EXPERIENCE! None of this is being said to be spiteful, it's to prevent anyone from having to deal with the mistreatment that I put up with for so long!

I followed through and contacted my physician and did my part. I received a phone call to schedule an appointment to be fitted. I asked what the price would be. I was told that I had not yet paid my yearly deductible, I was also told that I did not have coverage for durable medical equipment, which was all wrong information. I was fully aware that I had met the deductible and was now in the 80/20 phase. I was told that further phone calls would need to be made. A few hours later, I received a call back, and she had corrected her information and said I would only owe $87 for the brace. I then scheduled my appointment to be fitted. The day of my appointment, I was told that the brace my doctor prescribed was not ordered and it would take a couple of weeks; however, there was a brace on site that was the same, I agreed to accept the brace. Upon checking out, the price of the back brace was $152, almost double the original quote. I was also told that my Medical records were required to submit to insurance. I informed them that had been done previously, and it should be in the system which they were.I have to wonder how many people that don't ask questions, pay far more out-of-pocket, then they are supposed to. I will not do business with your company again. I had to at least give one star to post this review. Otherwise, I would not give them any.

The facility called us saying my grandmother was found unresponsive, and they were calling the ambulance. A few minutes later, they called back saying "never mind, she is responsive now. We think she was unresponsive due to the position she was in (slumped over in her wheelchair)." My father requested she be put in bed, and some of the family went up to check on her. We found her still in her wheelchair and still unresponsive. She was unable to open her eyes, she couldn't speak, etc. Had we just taken their word for it, my grandma would have never been medically treated. Additionally, my grandmother waited over an hour in the rehab unit on several occasions when she hit her button to use the bathroom. Then she ended up being put in room where the button didn't work, and she had no way to request for assistance. We met maybe two people that actually cared for her and took good care of her. P.S. be warned, when they say they have nurses on staff during evening hours, they do not. It is aids only, and if you want your loved one to be seen by the doctor, forget about it.

On site Dr visits when needed were the icing on the cake. when her health declined and she went out to the hospital she came back to rehab. unfortunately the end was near and she passed away comfortably supported by family and staff.
