If locals like it or hate it I don't know. The decorations inside gives a very rustic and macho feel with massive wooden furniture, tremendous wooden carvings and a few bear skins hanging around. The waitresses are dressed in what I guess is tradtional costumes and they are polite, attentive and sweet, but utter useless in english. I will work on my Polish until next time so we can communicate better :-) I ordered a beet root soup with dumplings for starters and it was really, really good. For the main course I went for the breaded pork chop with potatoes and three types of fermented vegetables. I especially liked the vegetables and the only thing I missed was some sort of sauce so it wouldn't be so dry. All in all a great place that I would come back to for more delicious Polish meals.

I don't usually like lamb but this dish came highly recommended. Ive only liked lamb on a few occasions so it was a gamble and in this rare situation, I won. The gaminess of the lamb was very subtle and the flavor combined with the potato puree and marinade was delicious. The steak tartare was prepared table side and the chef asks if you want it normal, mild, or spicy. I opted for spicy which I felt wasn't any spice but nonetheless, a very tasty steak tartare. The marinated herring was so enjoyable as well. The fish was tender and the citrus profile of the sauce was a fantastic complement to the dish. The Chicken Soup was as good as chicken soup could be. Warm and savory. And finally the dessert. The fluffy meringue pie was very good as well but after a few bites, the sweetness got to me. Still a good dish though but more geared towards those with a real sweet tooth.
