The two projects we contracted were well executed and thanks to the administrator Kayla, scheduling was a breeze and completion of the project was timely. Luke and Cole were our Design Consultant and Construction Supervisor respectively. Just so easy to work with and you can tell instantly that they know their stuff. Cole was able to help me make decisions "on the fly" over a couple of obstacles which arose during the construction phase which resulted in the sweet little wall you see in some of the photos. The extra work was done at no cost to us. I think this is what sets this company above the others on the design/construction sell. It's clear these are folks are pros. Manuel was the site supervisor for our project and is 100% customer focused. He and his crew definitely went above and beyond in terms of job focus and task completion. We just had System Pavers complete a $20K project in our back yard. First rep came and reviewed the area and measured the space. He came back with a diagram and $$ quote within a couple days and we loved it. He talked about financing and we were able to handle that while he was here. Next came a phone call from a project coordinator who talked to us about billing and project start. A site manager then contacted us to do a walk-thru and ensure he understood our needs. Within a few days the first crew arrived to start demo on existing landscaping. They didn't speak English and immediately started working in the wrong area. Luckily, I was there to catch them and redirect their work. No real harm was done. The next day the same two guys showed up to continue work and then disappeared within an hour. I contacted the site manager and he assured me he was working on it and that they would send extra guys the next day to make up for lost time. (As it turns out, the work crews are all subcontractors and subject to their own schedules). The next day, the site manager and a few more guys showed up and really got going. The site manager looked at the pavers which were delivered a day or two prior and recognized that some of them were incorrect colors. He handled that himself and had new pavers delivered within a day or two. The site manager even discussed a couple changes to the original design which made it even better without changing the cost. They broke a couple irrigation pipes during the demo, but they were fixed very quickly. They then started laying pavers and that took a couple days as we had some odd shapes which required cutting many pavers. They ran out of one color and had to order some extra which the foreman hand delivered within a day or two and finished the project shortly thereafter. Overall, there were a couple snags, but the project (which was quoted as a two week completion) only took about six work days from start to finish. The project turned out great and they left the area very clean. Definitely recommend System Pavers! read more

Where do I begin? This was a disaster almost from the start. System pavers was the most expensive quote we got for our patio (over $18,000), but the only company that offered a 25 year warranty, so we paid more...expecting more. Well, we got nothing but headaches. To begin, the communication was non existent, they project manager that came out never got back to us, wouldn't respond to any follow up texts, and we waited 2 weeks before calling the office to see what the problem was. Well, that PM was no longer there. So nobody informed us? We had to send unanswered texts and call ourselves to find that out? Then, they delivered 7 pallets of pavers before 6:30 in the morning, never letting us know, not coming to the door, just put them right on our 2 week old newly sodded grass, then pulled the forks of the forklift out, and tore up our newly planted grass. They did bring us new sod to replace it, but we had to pay to have it re planted. Then, after 3 people had been out to measure and make sure everything was correct, the installation crew leader explained, after the started, we had a slope of 14" and needed a retaining wall to support this. The first 3 agreed we only had a 3" lift, and no retaining wall was needed. Then after delayed completion I tipped each worker (7 of them) $50 cash for doing what we thought was a good job. One week later we went on vacation, and my mother in law calls us to inform us the border of the patio is coming apart (pictures included). Come to find out, the skipped one of the most important steps, by not concreting the border! With the weight of all the sand they used, of course it is going to separate the pavers if no concrete is used. After 3 weeks, they came out and fixed the issue. Although many parts are still very uneven and it's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, we just don't want them out anymore, the stress of this whole project is too much. The old saying of you get what you pay for doesn't always ring true. I would not recommend system pavers to do any projects you're thinking about. Just a nightmare of an experience. read more

Overall our experience was good with System Pavers, albeit not quite great. We are ultimately impressed with the look of the patio but I'm not 100% convinced of the longevity of the workmanship. First off, our PM, Travis, was absolutely fantastic to work with. One of the most communicative project managers I've ever worked with and I work with PMs all the time, daily. That was the best part of the experience. The design options and customizations were about 90% on par with our expectations, although we would have liked additional options from our designer for a pathway we ended up doing on a DIY basis, based on his recommendation. In hindsight this is something System Pavers could have included in the project, of course at a cost (we'd expect nothing less), resulting in a 100% complete patio experience. We had to hire this out separately, rather than doing it DIY ultimately. Pricing - SP is a little on the high side but on the one hand, you get what you pay for. We had absolutely perfect pavers installed, which can be tough considering they are all smashed together on a pallet prior to installation. The crew did a great job of inspecting each one in detail, before laying it. The crew was great, with one major exception and another minor exception... About 70% through the project, temps fell below 20 degrees one night, so the concrete used to hold the paver border in place didn't set properly and therefore, the affected pavers had to be glued (you read that right) by the crew using masonry adhesive, to the concrete once it did set. This is where I am worried about long term wearability of the workmanship. I may not find out there are any issues until 1-2 years from now, outside of the workmanship warranty. That absolutely concerns me and I will not let that go, if it becomes an issue. The second concern with the crew is that they cut the yard sod out with the wrong measurements, so if I hadn't been very 'on top of it' and managing my own project at times, it would've been much worse than it ended up. Now I'm stuck with areas of my yard that are torn up and it didn't need to be that way. Again, fixable avoidable in the first place. They also measured some planter areas of the patio, resulting in having to redo parts of those areas because again, I caught it before they got too far along in the paver prep process. All that to say, you'd think attention to detail would be a core tenant of the System Pavers process and while it may be, I didn't see that consistently on my project. Now, I have a hard full of mud with three dogs and I have to wait 3-6 months minimum, for the overseeding to regrow (thankfully they did come and overseed, trying to make it right). Would I use them again? Yes. Mainly because their crew was the same each day they were here, so they learned my project well versus handing off to other crews over the overall 2 weeks of buildout time the project took. It remains to be seen how well the patio, especially the borders, will hold up long term. But we love the end result, albeit super messy, realizing the yard will grow back and the end result will be a beautiful patio. One final thought - be wary of letting the designer sway you into going with his sometimes seemingly rushed design ideas for YOUR space. Go into the design project with a vision, photo examples, drawings if possible, anything you can. It'll pay dividends in getting you what YOU want, not what the designer envisions alone. He recommended going pretty conservative to match some specific colors on our house and we are anything but conservative, when it comes to design. So, you do you and put together your dream project because once it's done, you're committed. You have to love it. I'm new to Austin, Texas (like so many are!) and moved into a home with several dirt pits and drainage issues in the back yard. My primary concern, beside beautification, was water mitigation. In my quest to resolve my water issues, I interviewed several companies. I am indeed picky - I grew up with a dad who was a home remodeling contractor so I know all the questions to ask (liability insurance, etc. etc. ). An astounding high number of these local contractors were "fly by night" who came by, offered an idea, said they would send an estimate, and then disappeared. It was really perplexing this new, seemingly "Texas way" of doing contract work. To the rescue came the System Pavers team. They were beyond professional, timely, cordial, and confident that their plans for water mitigation would be effective. Even in my "shopping" period, I'd get off the phone with TJ Navarro, the sales person, and within minutes of speaking about paver samples, they would miraculously arrive in my front yard as if an elf fairy had delivered them. All were clearly labeled with sharpie as to their style and color code. Next, I met Ashley Mitchell, who was the onsite point person/coordinator. She was absolutely on top of the project. No message of mine went unanswered for more than an hour - tops. Between her and TJ there were answers to the expected "middle of the job" questions immediately. Jerry, another onsite manager, was also extremely helpful coming by the project every few days. The project in its entirety took approximately 10 days, but there was a lot to do. They needed to tear out my eye sore concrete patio, then excavate in order to bring the terrain to lower than my home's foundation slab, and then grade it. They said they usually grade it for a 1 inch angle, but due to the concerns about water, they went to 2 inches for safety's sake. I was very appreciative of the extra care they took to ensure the water mitigation goal was obtained. At one point, they started to lay out the pavers and the patio portion was almost complete. The following day a supervisor came by and noticed it wasn't exactly smooth as a baby's behind, and had them take it out once again, and regrade and reinstall. I was extremely grateful for this level of specificity and attention to detail. I'd also like to put in extra and reinforced words of praise for Austin's Cutting Edge, the subcontractors and work crew on the job. Thomas, the owner of the company, was extremely attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond any request of mine. A most enthusiastic thanks needs to go to the guys who did the back-breaking labor: Jeremy, Charles, and the other 4 or 5 workmen on the job. All of them were absolutely amazing, cordial and professional. They worked their butts off and I can't thank them enough for all their hard work. Their timeliness and work ethic were A+ - there was only one day of the 9 days that they were not on site at 8:00 am and working till at least 5:00 pm, but even on that day Ashley notified me that they would be late finishing up another job. They didn't miss a day of work. As for the finished job? I was working from home on the crew's last day. All was looking all "constructiony" when I started work, but after several hours I took a break and it was like one of those home improvement shows - I was nearly in tears with how beautiful it looked. Had porch extended, pavers placed on top of porch and extension, hardscape on the side of the house. Pros: Let me start off by saying that everyone was very nice. and workers who did the job were very friendly and worked very hard. Pavers on the patio look great Cons: 1.The salesman was very friendly, but not knowledge at all. There were multiple extra items added to the quote that were not needed for the project. and a few big items that needed to incorporated in the project were not considered. add in drains but not needed. did not incorporate cement cost needed for the build out of the porch. The quote was for the job and they would break down what i was paying for. They just stated it a by the job price. That should have been my first flag. 2. Rocks and pavers were dropped off in our driveway over two week. without notice. then sat blocking the drive while we waited to be put on the schedule. very un organized. 3. Playground sand was used to fill in between the pavers. It has been 3 months and they still have not come back to replace the sand. We have two small fluffy pomeranians, and they track in sand into our house every time they come in from outside. There is a build up around the doors and our floors are constantly covered in sand. so very disappointing. 4. System Pavers can not keep a general contractor, and other workers , we always talk to someone different. The contractor who was assigned to us showed up the first day and never came back. Only workers showed up the entire job. We have communicated with SP to get the issues fixed and every time we call them to find our why noone has come to fix, they just say. "sorry he quit we have someone new. " 5. Where they tore up the yard by by the porch, was left as mud. About 2' of exposed dirt/ rocks from the digging. no topsoil, just the dirt and rocks they dug up to extend the porch. I had to go out and pick out all the rocks so the yard would grow and would not get flung by the lawn mower. The dogs love the exposed dirt. but it is so frustrating. again they said they would fix. It's been 3 months and just now the natural grass is starting to grow in , leaving only small areas of mud. But this morning my pup came in and covered the house in mud. Would not recommend this company to do your next project. Although we love having an extended porch, i do not know if it was worth the 11k. With the lack of communication, Non correction of mistakes, and the hassle of sand and mud in our house and on our dogs, for over 3 months we will not be using them again. read more

It took a while to get them to start construction because of product delays and sub contractor issues. We were able to modify the plans before construction to our satisfaction. When construction finally took place, it initially went well, the personnel was friendly, easy to work with and did excellent work. In the middle of the project the sub contractor went on vacation and hired a different sub contractor to continue the work. That sub contractor didn't understand our last minute changes and built the paver walkway wrong. The original sub contractor sorta fixed this but did not finish it the way we had originally agreed to. So, the paver patio and walkway looks awesome but it's not exactly the way we wanted. Because of their sub contractor issues, I would think twice about going with System Pavers. read more

We had an awesome experience with System Pavers. It started with our design consultant, Peyton. He met with us a couple of times to go over design, materials and installation process. He had some great ideas for our space and recommended products that would keep our project in budget. Once we started the project we met our project manager Cole. He was there all through the installation process and followed up with us afterwards. Even though I know he's busy, I always felt like our project was the only thing he was working on. We even decided on a design change in the middle of the project and he handled that the same day. Now, parts of our yard that were wasted space are usable, beautiful areas. Generally pleased with the final build but call outs include fit and finish, unexplained cost increases, and capabilities. Fit and finish is the biggest worry with long term structures like patios, the pavers look good. Overlooking a few stains and scratches, its fine. The bigger call out are planter work. The austin office uses third party contractors that all have different levels of skills and workmanship. In our case, our planters were 7 different colors and 10 different textures....They sent a new crew to fix the issues only to have them create new ones that are still unfinished, 3+ weeks over the expected completion date. During the install process and after signing contracts and getting "final measurements," they somehow overlooked over 36 inches of elevation and realized that they needed to add a stair. Without explanation, that single stair was going to cost $6k, that as a consumer, I discovered via a docusign addendum without explanation. This was after their overlooked a drainage measurement that cost another $3k. Generally, the advise is to look out for scope-creep. In total for our case, it was a + 25% increase in cost vs the original sales contract. We're happy with the warranty since I think we'll need it out here but generally, I would caution Austin area consumers until they have their internal ducks in a row. Whoever is running the show from HQ clearly isn't up to speed with customer needs out here. read more

Do not hire System Pavers in Austin for paver projects. System Pavers Austin has done a truly unsatisfactory job installing a paver patio for us in south austin. We were very impressed by the designer's pitch and belgard brochures he shared, but they sub out the actual work to a local crew that cannot deliver the promised quality and results. Sales guy is great - they will make you feel like you would be getting a premium service (Money back guarantee, quality pavers, design service etc.) but the austin company is definitely not at that level by any means so don't believe them. Dozens of chipped pavers, the surface is not level at all, very jagged and unprofessionally cut pieces and just overall complete lack of attention to detail. After a lot of hand holding they replaced many but not all chipped pavers but the curved edge looks hacked together by amateurs. Forget about the 30 day satisfaction guarantee, they will try to take you to court first... they actually offered my husband 500 off to remove a google review. That is the kinda company they are apparently. This quality may have been expected if we were paying half as much. DEF AVOID system pavers in austin. Need to get this all fixed by a competent crew now and pay extra. read more
