For those that don't know, Chang Fen is a silky and soft steamed rice noodle that's made in a sheet, filled, and then rolled up and served with a savory soy sauce and chili oil. Classic fillings include shrimp, beef, pork, and veggies, but there are many other combinations, and Yin Ji introduced me to my new favorite, pork and olive! We also had to enjoy a "frozen HK milk tea" with it! Frozen here = chilled and it's served in a big bowl of ice so you don't dilute the rich flavor of the tea! As a non Chinese speaker in a rich Chinatown, service and communication can be challenging but that was not the case here at all! The staff was so welcoming, happily spoke English and helped us where necessary and made the visit incredible! It started because we saw signs saying cash only, but had not exchanged USD, and they quickly told us CC was welcome with an added fee, which we happily paid.
