T Allen's King Gyros did not disappoint! Clean environment, HUGE portions, friendly staff and delicious food!

It's was a late evening but wanted to still eat dinner. We found this place near by our hotel as it was still open and it stayed open until 11pm! They have their own private parking as it had a drive through. We decided to dine in. The place was clean and they have a nice size menu. We decided to order some gyros. The guy at the register was friendly and told us their combo meals as well as dinner plates. I got the gyros plate and paid extra for pita bread ComEd with fries Hubby got a gyro sandwich and fried mushrooms and beer battered fried onion rings. The place was clean snd busy. There was a large flat screen tv showing espn. When we sat in our booth by the window our meal was ready that wasn't quick! The meat was fresh hot and juicy. The pits bread was flat grilled as the edges was golden and crispy but soft inside. The gyro has fresh sliced tomatoes chunks of feta and seasoned white raw onions. Comes with tazikki cucumber dip. The fries were thinner cut fries was good, fried mushrooms were hot and crispy, the fried onion rings was beer battered and it was a bit sweet. They give you plenty of food for your order. I was a couple of people ordered their ribs which looks tasty. Overall, we like this place we would be back if we're in the area! read more

I forget I don't care for their food anymore. I know it's same owner but just a name change but it seem they took advantage of people thinking else wise. Rib tip last night was just fat and whatever you call the soft bone like stuff. I get drunk and forget to order the hamburger. It's not bad. But I always think the bbq will be good. PLEASE NOTE.. I will always give this location 5+ stars normally. The customer service is normally on point..the older guy.. I think he is greek..top notch..there is a girl there that normally takes or i see at the register that rings me up..she can do no wrong just soo nice!! T allen's is Extremely generous on the rib tips dinner! Fries?! They dont short step! I lb of fries for every inch of that hot dog or sausage and their fries are yummy!! Every time I go to South Bend Indiana right there on Lincolnway that's what I get every time once or twice a week. THEE AMAAZING RIB TIP DINNERRRR. I get the same thing because I just love the rib tips. AND YOU GET A NICE SERVING. They do not dissapoint with anything that I have happened to try before I found a favorite. Today?? Not good. Bothered me all the way home not because of the ask I had which I have plenty times before and no issues, but how it went down. So I ordered the rib tip and I wanted a different flavor so I got a plain hot dog..threw away the bread..got the rib tip with just all coleslaw substitute no fries or bread. They are extremely generous with those as well my weakness carbs. Out of sight out of mind is how I work. I order one large cup or largest cup they had of iced water.. I ALWAYS OFFER TO PAY WHAT EVER IT COSTS and I make sure I especically offer a few times during the order or however many times I have to confirm what I want and specify LARGE CUP..I really love iced water and was craving it especially. So the girl that took the order. Very nice..said fine to the large cup of iced water.. I get to the window..the awesome gentleman handed me a SMALL CUP of iced water. I mentioned politely. I was hoping for a large cup. I will pay what ever it costs but if I could please get a large cup as I looked up through the order window seeing stacks of the large cups and other smaller sizes...I was hoping for. He quickly appologised and was turning to get the large cup when the girl standing kitty corner behind him.. I have never seen before.. abruptly took the cup from him and said no we just give small cups for water we dont charge for waters in a cup. I repeated I am willing to pay what ever it cost for a large cup..she handed it back to him as she dismissively said ..WE ARE LOW ON SUPPLIES Note she did not say cups.. I diffused his aparent confusion and embarassemebt with a quick..ok cool np..thank you with a big smile as I took the cup and straw out his hand and he said and took the 17 dollars and some change for the order. Now..cups are designated to hold what ever you put in them and in this case liquid with ice. The fountain dispenser has both ice and aside from the various drinks options..right there at your finger tips... A water lever.. People order iced water in a cup for legitimate reasons...a crave...ice to hold or crunch in your mouth to help you stay awake if you are extremely tired on the road.. choosing the lesser of two evils some hate plastic bottles so they would rather the styrofoam...water or any liquid in a styrofoam stays cold waaaay longer...and finally the large cup of iced water is just enough to add to and fill back up my water cannister and add some ice in there to really make the cold water last and my exing previously warm water cold again.. It was upsetting because of the reasoning...and the attitude behind the reasoning..and how she treated the Mr. Employee of the month should be guy..maybe she is his manager..or a manager?? Should NOT be for sure... So the reasoning ...she gave was completely illogical... ....and I just spent almost 20 dollars at your establishment at least show some appreciation by honoring that simple request especially since I was willing to pay for it. The other girl in the area she is awesome..I know would have said..if they couldnt do it..any more...why dont you drink that one up real quick and I will refill it for you...or she would have asked..you all good you need a refill as she would be handing me the order.. As a matter of fact.. the moment the guy gave me the cup..because I was really craving it....in the motion of taking it from him to put it down.... the water was slurped up..gone...that quick!!.. The attitude and mindset of that girl..her disposition..will prove destructive to customer service/experience at your establisment's drive through or inside register. She is that one that is about what ever I say goes whether it makes sense or not..true or not... If she is new?...the owner's relative?..what ever..nip that in the bud right away or keep her away from the window or interacting with customer she will cost you money here and there...little to descent to loss of customer.. read more

I've been coming to this place since around 2009 and it's always been fantastic. Service is top notch, workers are always super friendly and the food comes out quickly. While the food may be fast, I don't consider this "fast food" because it's very high quality. I love the ribs, burgers, hot dogs, and Italian beef sandwiches. They've got really good French fries as well. If you don't get a side of BBQ sauce to dip your fries in, then what are you doing with your life?! read more

First time here. Place is clean (very important to me) inside and as soon as you walk in you can smell you are in for a treat. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Service is faster than fast food but tastes and looks like they prepared it just for me! I'll be back. read more

Stopped here since it was close to our hotel. The building looks like a fast food place, but everything is made to order. The staff were nice and swift in their service. The Gyro salad was very tasty. I also enjoyed the onion rings, nice and crispy on the outside with sweet onion inside. I sampled some fries: also quite good. We were staying at a close local hotel & saw this T Allen's King Gyro's online on Lincoln Way West & read All the Good comments. We pick up our car tomorrow, so walked a block or 2 to get the Gyro plate. Due to C19, no dine in & decided to "wait or turn in drive thru" to order. We weren't "in line" but 3min & Alisa or Taylor (Both Amazing staff!!) came to the side door & said she could help us. TRUE Customer Service!! Our Gyro Plates were Large, Perfect temp & Wonderful!! No salt on fries, perfect!! They gave salt/pepper packets to season..Your way. Nice!! We will go out of our way to visit here again & tell others. Great Customer service & food!! The best food around. Period. They give you the perfect amount of food for the right price. Prices went up due to Covid costs, which makes sense, and it's still worth it. My husband eats here M-F for lunch for the past 10 years, that's how good it is. Ribs are great. Gyro is excellent, never dry. Literally everything on the menu is amazing. I almost always get the #4 combo (pro tip, get the hot mix added to sandwich, or on the side. You won't be disappointed!). read more

Something other than burgers in South Bend but ONLY ok. Very greasy and they serve Pepsi rather than Coke. Sorry, not a Pepsi fan. Definitely worth it but not amazing. read more

Very delicious gyros! I go for lamb, beef or chicken and I've always been pleased. The portions are the perfect size. Very cute on the inside, clean, tidy and able to accommodate small to medium-sized groups. The music is kinda funky, but it doesn't drown out conversation.
