We have 2 children at Great Expectations and love it! The teachers are very kind and our kiddos are…read morelearning SO much. They come home with daily reports (how their day was) and almost always a crafty item that they made. They even have Angel Trees for those less fortunate. I researched area childcares with the State and they are the best - Star 4!

They do not understand that a child with special needs has rights. They are unwilling to communicate with the therapists in their facilities which they are required to do by law.. They have been reported for their discriminating practices. When a child has an IEP team, Behaviorial Specialist and a TSS available to help you and you choose not to communicate with them something is just not right and suspicious. The child has a TSS right there with him to help you, but no one is communicating with as well as an IEP team and a Behavioral specialist who no one was contacting. As an example the director Madelyn leaves a voice mail that calls a 3 year old with special needs "violent" and lied about an incident that was happening in the facility as well as saying we don't tolerate this behavior. So much for positive interaction. But then after speaking with the child's TSS who was with him at the time come to find out the incident was extremely exaggerated just so they could just get rid of him. If a child is not able to communicate like other kids you need to take time to find out what caused a behavior not just send him home. Which by the way is not to happen when a child has an IEP. Another lie prior to leaving we asked about the summer availability and were told by Administrators that they were going to be short staffed and had no availability but then on facebook Great Expectations is advertising that they do have availability, again discriminating against a child with a disability. I just want people who don't have the "ideal" child to be aware of how a special needs child is viewed by Great Expectations.

As a young girl I attended this church several times per week until I left home as an adult. I keep…read moremy membership alive, even though I have lived hours away. My Mom was an active member of this church for more years than I can count. My fondest memories now are of the mother and daughter banquets held in the church basement and of one Sunday school teacher who also sold shoes and tried to get all of us into talking our mom's into buying shoes from him. Praise the lord! My Mom recently passed on and it was her wishes to be cremated with no prior viewing and for no funeral services. She did say that we were not to mourn her death but to celebrate her life. We called the church and said that we would like to have a celebration memorial service for my mom. They were so much help and so kind in putting this together for us. The ladies of the church all called and said please let us do all the cooking and wow did they ever cook! The Pastor held a very informal service where he allowed anyone who wanted to get up and tell stories of their memories of mom. What started as tears quickly turned to laughter. My mom was very much loved by many and well over one hundred people showed up for the service. Thank you Rev. Jeff and ladies of the church, it's exactly the way Mom would have wanted it.

This church is very good at encouraging people to find their niche and serve Christ. I, along with my husband served as Youth Directors and Sunday School teachers, I also served as Vice President of the U.M.W, and secretary of the Administrative Board. Because of our involvement with the youth of the church, we were called to served as camp counselors at Camp Allegheny. My husband was called to be the first lay person to direct a Camp for youth and I served as Secretary of the Board of Directors of Camp Allegheny. This church encouraged our service beyond the church. We were nurtured in their Sunday School classes, as were our children. Our grandson attended Nursery School at Bethany. I highly recommend this church to anyone looking for a nurturing, disciple making church. I am an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church largely because of the spiritual gifts and graces I was encourged to develope as a growing Christian at Bethany.
