A little annoyed we got one minor ding in a wall, but over all. Didn't seem to bad. Over the weeks, we went to setup more rooms, more furniture, etc. A LOT of my furniture has new scratches and dents that I didn't notice from a quick glance. None of it catastrophic, but extremely frustrating. Despite this, they were still polite and professional. Didn't charge too much. A little more care, and it's be 5/5, perfect.

The pins needed to hold up the shelves are missing. Isaiah told me they were in my old home office tape together in a ball. I went back there and found nothing anywhere I looked. Afraid to sleep on either bed that they reassembled. I removed the photos and changed the rating because Jerome from Moving ahead did an excellent job of correcting all our issues. I view the measure of a company not only on the original work but how they handle any issues that occur from the move. Moving Ahead Services did an excellent job correctly every issue we had. When the price went up, I said ok I am ready to go. They never returned my deposit or explanation of them leaving. Later on down the road I received a phone call from them wanting to negotiate for at least my deposit back. They did not give me my deposit back or apologize for their wrong actions in handling it. There were MANY issues with my move. Firstly, I'm missing one of the large items (an end table),…read moredespite me discussing it on the phone & reminding the crew of it multiple times in-person. Secondly, several items that *did* make it were damaged in the move. Doors broken off cabinets, drawers with missing handles, etc. Thirdly, walls were gashed & scraped in both the move-out & move-in location. Fourthly, and most importantly, the job is incomplete. I explained to BOTH representatives that I spoke to on the phone, multiple times, that in addition to the big items we discussed, I had a great deal of medium-to-small items that we were in the process of sorting through at the time, that I'd like to add to the move the day of. I was told, again by both representatives multiple times, that it would be 100% possible to add as many things as necessary for an additional fee, which the movers would be able to quote me the price for on the spot. I expressly told them to send a large truck & many movers for this exact reason. (I was quoted for a large truck rental & 4 movers. Quick aside; issue 4.5 is that only 2 movers showed up). When the movers arrived, I was shown my list of items, several of which I had discussed on the phone, were not present. Then, when I asked about adding items, I was told outright that it was impossible, as they were doing multiple jobs that day & there wouldn't be enough room, despite the large truck I was charged for being very obviously completely empty. There was no room for negotiation. Due to this, more than half of the items in my home that I was fully counting on being moved and somewhat accounted for in the quote, are sitting in the middle of my living room, as we tried to collect everything to make it easier on the movers. I was directly lied to on the phone, twice. I was lied to by the movers. My move is not even 50% completed, and yet I still had to pay the original price, with only a slight deduction for the missing list item. If they had moved everything, and the price was greater because of the additions, I'd be happy to pay, but they only moved seven things, forgot one, damaged others, took longer than quoted, and still charged me $1000. This is absolutely unacceptable. Not only would I NEVER encourage others to use this service, but I will now be going out of my way to actively *discourage* anyone who's moving of even considering this company. So much so in fact, that this is my first Yelp​ review ever. Absolutely terrible experience, couldn't be more displeased. The only positive thing I could mention was that the movers were very polite. The two that showed up, anyway. I plan on reaching out directly in the morning to get this situation resolved, otherwise I'll be filing a charge-back through my credit card company for fraud (which this absolutely was). DON'T USE THESE GUYS.

Shannon was my moving specialist, she is super nice and responsive. I had a million questions and I was very worried about the move, she was very patient with me and walked me through each step, calmed me down. No hidden fees, everything's listed on the quote and if you have any doubt, ask Shannon and she can clear all your doubt out. On the day of my move, the crew arrived on time and were super efficient. All three of them were all very kind and they paid a close attention to the furnitures and all the fragile stuff. As I said, highly recommend. Really nothing to worry about, and if I ever move again, I will hire them.

We hired this company to pack and move our things in July of 2021. After the truck left our old address, the movers took more than an hour to arrive at the destination which couldn't have been more than a 5 minute drive away. When the movers finally did come back with the truck, they were drinking sodas, so we assumed they just went to lunch. Nothing wrong there -- it was noon and people have to eat. However, at the end of the day they charged us for the hour they were at lunch (see attached photos). At the end of the move when we were unpacking, we saw that the movers had significantly damaged many of our possessions including our printer, an office chair, an office desk, kitchen supplies, our TV console, and had lost many items including the screws needed to reassemble our bed frame. The movers took no responsibility and just told us to search for the lost items in the old apartment (which did not have the missing items). Unfortunately we did not get an upgraded insurance policy as we did not expect a $240/hr company to be this bad at their work. We naively believed that a company with glowing reviews on the internet could do their jobs correctly. Nonetheless, we decided we would settle for the $0.60/lb reimbursement. After nearly a month before we finally got ahold of Prime Moving again for reimbursement, they simply denied that their movers had done the damage and refused to reimburse us for more than $100 for having caused nearly $500 of damage. Apparently if you don't take before and after photos of everything you own, they can just deny that their workers did anything wrong. It's truly a shame that this company won't stand by the quality of their work.

They also had NO MOVING BLANKETS, NO DOLLY !! and many other things that I had been told by express essentials would definitely be provided. Because they had no dolly, I watched two young men carry one thing at a time There was almost nothing left to move from my old department , except furniture. It was beyond ridiculous. I quit listing all the things that were broken because it became so ridiculous. NIGHTMARE!! Almost Everything that they moved has been damaged Then Yelp contacted me and asked me to take down mybad review. They promised they would do something appropriate in a short time Well, I moved on March 21 The bad review is back!! They showed up 2 AND half HOURS LATE. No apology no notification. The manager "Sheree" would not even pick up the phone for the first 1 hour and kept refusing any call as I was trying to figure out if the movers are coming at all. When she picked-up she said, they are on their way and will arrive in 30 mins. No sign of them so I called 45 mins later, Sheree kept disconnecting the call again. When she picked up, she told me that the movers are wrapping up some work nearby and will arrive in 15 mins. 20 mins after that I get a call from a different phone and a guy said that they have just been informed of the move schedule and they are on their way and will arrive in 30 mins. The moment the movers arrived (after 2.5 hours of delay and near-radio-silence) Sheree contacted me 4 times (now all on a sudden available) to finish the whole payment while the movers did not even finish moving one box. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. Dealing with Sheree / Express Essential Services was horrendous experience

However, the movers were an hour late and showed up with an extra person than I was not originally quoted. Which is fine, if it doesn't change my quote, but what I was charged ended up being expodentially higher than what I anticipated based on the quote. Especially since I moved a majority of my items before they arrived. I had most of the items already ready and took apart and put together my bed itself. I even assisted helping move what I had left by loading the smaller items in my car. I moved most of the items before they even arrived so they had really only had the heavy/bigger items that I couldn't take myself. There were also 30 minutes I couldn't even find the movers, even after calling them. I had moved 6 minutes down the road but it took them over 30 minutes to arrive. I had driven back, double checked they got everything, locked everything up, came back to the new place, and still waited another 15 minutes. So they were off somewhere unknown to me. This also lowered my trust in their service. When I asked for an itemized receipt so I could double check how I was being charged, I never heard from them again. If you do decide to use this company, you should know that the quality is excellent because they take care in how your items are moved, their professionalism and communication is great but you may hear them complaining if items are heavy. I think the funniest comment I heard from them was "Everything is heavy Up in this Crib". I would recommend ensuring someone is there the entire time to ensure you track when they leave and when they arrive at the new location and have them itemize the receipt before sending you the bill. A vague receipt won't do to make sure you aren't overcharged.
