I visited T & K from a friends recommendation and it did not disappoint. It felt a little pricey, but I didn't feel like I got ripped off. I booked a regular manicure and callous pedicure. I liked their online reservation system, it was very straight forward before arrival. You can book the person you want to see, or a time and then a service. Then you get a text if they accepted your appointment. However, it seemed like you could've booked anything online because when I came in to check in both the woman at the front and my technician asked me multiple times what I wanted. That part seemed a little disjointed. The place was rather busy with plenty of staff so I could tell that this was a well frequented place. Picking out regular nail polish was a tad disappointing because most colors on their wall were darker, lots of reds, and nothing was color coordinated so it just looked very dark overall. Luckily I found a gorgeous blue colored polish and stuck with that. The pedicure for the callous treatment was nice! She used a small electric foot file to help get off the callouses which I think helped a lot! I WILL say, I was sitting more towards the left side against the wall and after someone had used the restroom (I think) I could smell a sort of sewage smell (as stated from the review below me). Someone sprayed something and the smell went away but I hope they fix that issue soon. My callouses were smoothed out, my manicure was done and I overall was happy! From Cambridge, MA I love that T & K Nail Design, though in Burlington, MA is a straight shot down Cambridge Street in Arlington, MA right to this nail design salon. Found it with ease. This place is bigger in the inside than it looks from the outside. It's inside a plaza and has plenty of parking. When you enter the nail design salon, it is wonderfully set up with amazing decor, and the appointment process for checking in flows for getting customers seen, and runs smoothly. Plenty of nail techs to provide service and my daughter and I were scheduled with Ivy. Ivy is friendly, knowledgeable and made our first visit very pleasant and comfortable. We both had manicures, pedicures and eyebrows cleaned up, and she did an unbelievable job in all 3 areas. She assisted me in picking a color for my ombre dip powered nails which came out amazing, I was wowed by her work. My daughter brought in a photo for an acrylic set she wanted done, and Ivy NAILED IT!!! Her set looked exactly like the photo, and we couldn't believe IVY DID THAT!!! Great work, great personality. Our pedis and clean up on our eyebrows came out fantastic -- she takes pride in her work and pays attention to detail. We will surely be returning to see Ivy again. Do NOT book here. Yesterday I got my nails done here with a guy, pretty sure his name is Danny. I am a student who finally worked up enough money for a new set after a hard year of school and saving. I was so excited for new nails, but it was a HORRIBLE experience. Not only did he not do the design that I asked for, but he cut my skin not once, BUT TWICE. The first time, he filed my SKIN off on my pinky, which stung so bad for the entire appointment. Then, he slipped with the buffer machine and cut my cuticle on my middle finger, which also hurt horrendously for the entire appointment. Although I understand that not all nail artists are able to do designs, he didn't even confirm that it was okay after doing one nail. He didn't attempt to do the flower design, but rather it looks like AT best polkadots and at worse a VIRUS on my fingers. I was truly so scared and on edge the whole appointment every time he picked up the buffer machine, which is why I didn't even want to ask for him to re do it. The base color didn't even match my skin color and many of the nails are uneven. I am honestly really saddened to write this review because last time I came, Vickie did a great job with my nails. When Vickie did my nails, she followed all the sanitary precautions and procedures, such as separating the dip powder from its container to avoid contamination. But when Danny did my nails, he lazily skipped these procedures. I pray I do not get an infection in my cuts. When I asked for a partial discount on my $80 nails, the best they could do is $5 off. I went for an HERBAL/ORGANIC PEDICURE because it sounded so pampering. Its description "This treatment is to soften and heal your dry skin, relieve and relax your muscle, then a therapeutic hot stone oil massage to make you get away from the outside world.". There was no scent to the products used, so I don't know what the point of choosing a scent is. However, I did smell a nasty raw sewage smell several times during my pedicure. There also wasn't any hot stone or hot oil massage, there was a cold water bath that I had to soak my feet in. Another technician kindly turned the water to a warmer temperature, but it unfortunately wasn't enough. My technician wasn't friendly whatsoever. While trying to put my foot in the paraffin bag, she got my foot stuck on the bag and so I tried to help her, she scolded me like a child. Needless to say, this was the worst pedicure experience I have ever had. At least my toes look pretty, I'll give her that. Then when I checked out they tried to charge me an extra $5 for the paraffin treatment. I just assumed that it was a part of the treatment because my technician never asked me if I wanted to add it. I will never go back and recommend that you find another salon for a pampering pedicure. read more

I have been going to this nail salon every 2 to 3 weeks for the last two years. I always go to JP for my acrylic gel fill and he always does an amazing job. I went this past Tuesday as normal and on Wednesday one of my nails completely peeled off and again on Thursday another nail peeled off. In the last two years of getting these same nails, this has never happened. The gel was not cured all the way. I went in today to get them removed because I was very unhappy with how they came out and did not have the time to sit and wait for a whole new set. JP was not there so I was sat with someone new. I sat in the chair for an hour getting them removed and was asked to pay for the removal even though it was two days after I got them done originally. I then realized when I got into my car that the acrylic was not fully removed from any of my nails, even tho I had asked my nail tech if the acrylic was fully removed and she said it was. Decided to try a new salon, and going here made me realize, stick to what you know. I got a full set of acrylic nails, gel polish and a French tip. I have never received such a poorly done set in my life. In less than an hour 3 nails popped off, my cuticles weren't even touched and my French tip looked like a 3 year old drew it. After trying and failing to get a refund (it's against their policy) I went back to get my now 5 missing nails in two days fixed. I not only tried to be understanding but I also went back THREE times after not being treated as expected. I understand your procedures but they seem to benefit only part of your clients. Again, would've given 10 starts to JP but not for this place. This place definitely made me feel like nothing 3 times already and I kept giving them another chance because JP is truly an artist but the management is just horrific. The first time I booked with them to see JP I was informed he wouldn't be there and told they had moved me to a specific person that could do the service I wanted. Once there the girl that had started my service left from the chair in front of me to take one of her regulars that got there with no appointment or anything. Without telling me anything someone else did my nails and they ended up awful, I left crying. I decided to try again and booked for a dip powder + design. I got there and they said I was only booked for design (not sure how that's even possible) and they couldn't take me even to come back 4 hours later (mind you I live 30 min from this place). My last try was right now. I booked online with no problem for the only time I had after work. 15 min later they texted me and said he was already busy so they couldn't take me. So I'm not sure why I can book it online if you'll only cancel on me after, it's just extremely frustrating. Anyways not going back, they'll just treat you poorly there. read more

I called several salons in the area looking for a technician experienced in GEL X nails. After speaking with someone who assured me they had someone who does this service often I booked an appointment for 345 pm on friday. I was finally taken around 430 pm, and by the next day (Saturday evening) 2 nails had completely fallen off. By the end of day on Sunday I was missing a total of 5 nails. By today (less than one week later) all 10 nails have either fallen off or broken. When I called to request a refund, because it was clear to me they did not have the experience in this service they claimed to and I didnt want to waste another 2 hours of my time going back to have them "fixed". They called me a liar. They yelled at me when I expressed my frustration with spending 100$ at a salon only to have an entire hand gone 2 days later when they are supposed to last 4 weeks according to the manager I spoke to. I was repeatedly called a liar when I offered photo evidence and refused a refund. I have contacted the BBB. read more

Well let me start by saying Ive been going to T&K nails for about a year now and this was probably my second time having a bad experience. Honestly I did like this place and was hoping this would be my new nail place but unfortunately after my bad experience I won't be continuing here. They do have nice people and the nail technician Tracy that I went to was sweet, so kind and did a good job. I would honestly stay for her but unfortunately I want to be guaranteed that I am going to have a good experience. Every time Tracy was not available for some reason they asked me if someone else could do my nails and I would hesitantly say yes. I am not a picky person but I just haven't had the best of experiences when a new person does my nail. And sure enough every time they gave me a new person my experience was BAD. It takes me a lot to speak up for myself and I usually would just take it pay and just not be happy but this time I tried my best to speak up for myself and I am glad I did. First let me say that the nail technician made both of my big toes bleed that day (even though I was expressing that it hurt at certain points but she did not always stop when I was saying ouch- hence the bleeding afterwards). Then the actually painting my toes nails was unfortunately a BAD job and I'm honestly not quite sure why?! They would have allowed me to walk out knowing that my normal pedicure was looking like this. This is after the second time of them fixing it. I asked for a discount (not even a refund) and they just denied me and kept asking to fix it. I told them I had other things to do and I couldn't stay long and they said ti would only take a couple of minutes (honestly I did feel like they were getting frustrated with me and giving me an attitude and I wasn't understanding why). I ended up being there for 3 HOURS and it honestly didn't even feel like they really cared that their customer was unsatisfied. Never have I ever CRIED by going to a nail salon but this was the first time because I was SO FRUSTRATED AND I HATED FEELING LIKE I WAS THE PROBLEM. I did not want to make things difficult for ANYONE and I imagine the girl who did my nails tried her best but ALL I wanted was a regular pedi for my vacation and although I appreciated that they had another guy fix my toes for the 3rd time. It still ended up getting smudged. There is definitely more to the story but all to say if they would have treated me (a customer) with a little more care, kindness, respect, and grace, I think I would have given them one more chance. I am not saying to not go here, I am just saying that there is a chance you will be unsatisfied (as I am seeing others have experienced something like I did- wish I would have read these reviews beforehand) and they will not really care as long as you pay them for their service. I get it! I do! I just feel like if I am giving grace to you as a nail technician/small business, I just expect the same in return. I'm not sure how this place has the rating it does. I get dip manicures and they didn't take off my old dip manicure, they filed them down and put dip over them. MULTIPLE nails broke after they were done. Went back and they fixed them. But filing nails down and putting dip over is so unsanitary. Decided to give it another shot and the same thing happened again, filed them down without taking off old manicure, and multiple nails broke again. They also took a long time and kept answering the phone in the middle of doing my nails. I'm never going back there because it was just a waste of time and money. The salon was decorated super cute and was very clean, which is always a good sign. I work in the area and decided to run and get my nails done during my lunch break but, did not have the best experience, which makes me super upset because I hate not having something positive to say. I opted for the dip manicure, as I always do. The technician did not have me wash my hands after the nails were filed so the nail shavings got painted under the topcoat leaving my dark red nails spotted with tons and tons of white specks. The polish she used to apply the dip said, "OPI top coat". I have never seen this used for a dip application and my nails are bumpy, not smooth. The powder was not only applied to my nails but is also all over my skin and will not come off. I understand getting knicked and bleeding on one maybe two fingers, literally 6 of my fingers were bleeding. I was asked if I wanted her to cut my cuticles, I said yes, only to be charged an extra $7? I don't mind paying extra, but would have appreciated being told of the upcharge at the time. Overall, I do not think I will be returning, a sloppy job was done and the technician should have been able to see that before sending me on my way. read more

We were allowed to bring bottles of wine and they supplied us with glasses for a toast while there. We had an appointment so all 6 of us were able to sit at same time. We had a wonderful time.
