Took both my sons in for a haircut and had an amazing experience -- especially with my 4-year-old, who was going from long hair to short for the first time. Lam was incredibly patient, kind, and so skilled. He made my little one feel comfortable right away, walked him through the process, and gave him a fantastic cut that completely suits him. Came for a walk in and the guy who cut my hair just got back from his break, he smelled like cigarettes and marijuana and his eyes were bloodshot red, he spent less than 15 minutes on my haircut and handed me the mirror, I told him it wasn't really even and if he would be able to fix it make it even , he went back for another 20 seconds and then said how a this and I was like not any better and if he can ask his coworker what he thought and they said I was wrong never come here please save yourself read more

Ive been taking my son here for a couple years. I'm not picky about his haircut and neither is he, we usually do the same style. We've had different Barbers there cut his hair and they're always patient and do a good job (even when he couldn't sit still). They're friendly & understanding, let him sit in my lap if he was too scared and they never made us feel embarrassed. The prices have gone up a bit but I think it's still reasonable. They line up and it looks good, I've seen their work on older guys too. They're located in a small plaza in the corner and parking can difficult unless you go during odd times. read more

There are two downsides to this place. 1) The parking situation. It can be rough if you don't get there right when they open. 2) The wait. Hey, this place is popular, it's popular because these guys are GOOD. So you're going to probably have a 20-30 minute wait at a minimum. Be prepared. Bring a book or a videogame. Or, if you're the conversational type, the guys here all like to chat it up. If you're into sports, then you'll fit right in! Pro-tip for the parking, the other stores in this strip mall are VERY protective of "their" parking spots. If they have a sign out saying "Parking Only For..." then respect it. They will tow your car, and if you think they won't have time to tow it then see #2 above. I've probably had my hair cut by every guy in this place at one time or another. Some of them have regular clientele and you'll have to wait longer if you are picky... I have to say that personally, I don't have a preference. All these guys are rock stars when it comes to the good ol' fashioned haircut. This place is a barber shop the way that barber shops used to be. It's not a beauty salon that happens to have sports on the TV. It's not a franchise where the staff rolls through faster than a sushi conveyor belt. It's a neighborhood barber shop where you can get a cut and a shave and chill out with the guys. read more

Found this 6-chair shop near the SE corner of Vanowen & White Oak during the Corona lockdown when I desperately needed a fresh high & tight - and I'm so glad I did. Made an appointment with Tommy, the owner, who was very friendly and talkative but, more importantly, wields a mean pair of clippers. Once I told him what I wanted he got right down to business and the hair began to fly. You can tell these guys specialize in military-style haircuts - fades, H&Ts and flattops - as Tommy had me cleaned up in no more than 15 minutes. He was meticulous and fast and delivered a quality haircut. A true master barber. If you are looking for a short clipper cut at a competitive price ($17; 20 bucks for a razor fade) you will be hard pressed to find a better barbershop in the SFValley. I've been coming here off and on for a few years. More off than on as I used to fade my own hair. But while trying to grow it a bit longer and combat grey hairs, I figured it's better to let Tim cut my hair. I just came across Tim by chance, but he has been a great barber and I always go to him. I know a lot of the regulars go to the first or last chair, but Tim has always been real cool and seems like my kinda guy, so why mess up a good thing. This place doesn't have a lot of reviews, but it's usually pretty packed during normal barber hours. Go on a Thurs-Sun and it'll be packed. I try to go on a Tue-Wed.
