Not today!! The bathroom on the right are disgusting. Dirty floor drain, tile, exposed wiring in outlet no cover, no seat tissue in the holder, baseboard heating unit filthy needs painting and a knob. Smelled awful!! Deodorizers are cheap. Get a new cleaning crew, paint is cheap, outlet covers cheap. Can't imagine manager does not walk the store before opening . read more

I was in the Bloomington area and I stopped by here. TJ Maxx is my favorite store and I frequent the one in Brooklyn Center (my favorite) and Plymouth since there are close to where I live. I was very pleasantly surprised with the awesome selections here in Bloomington and LOVED my shopping experience. Checkout was fairy quick too as there were many associates available so the lines moves very quickly. Highly recommend! read more

It's another TJ Maxx, they all seem to be kind of the same. This one always seems to be a little more organized than others though. I also do appreciate the flow of this particular TJ Maxx and it always seems to have great items. There is something to be said as well for the fact that it is cleaner than others! This TJ Maxx is inside Southtown shopping center. Plenty of parking and there tends to be good foot traffic. I've been here a couple of times, there's always security at the front to greet you and it's laid out pretty similar to other TJ Maxx. I find this location to be a little small. There's not a large PS section or treat section. Normally I could spend 30 minutes browsing a TJ Maxx but this location I tend to be in and out within 10/15 minutes. With that being said, you can often find something to buy inside- pretty much like any other location. At times the sections can feel cramped- specially the baby/kid/toy section that is in the back of the store. I find there's enough sale items sprinkled around the store for those looking for an even better deal than the normal low prices of TJ Maxx. I Check out seems to take a little longer than it needs to, I always notice a large number of people doing returns whenever I go- nice that there's no issues with that but keep in mind you may be waiting longer than you want. I tend to come on my lunch break and there's been times I've had to put my items back because I simply don't have the time to wait another twenty minutes in line. With that being said if you have the time and you don't mind waiting you should check out this location. read more

This TJ Maxx is a personal favorite between my wife and I. We enjoy coming here whenever we need household items and gifts for our children and grandchildren. They have been the most tidy location we've been to, by far. My grand daughters love Hello Kitty, so we always stop by to find the perfect gifts for them at a great value. From our experience, it seems to be that this location has the largest selection of Hello Kitty products you could choose from. This store has its peak times especially during the holiday season. It seems like a lot of people come here to get some holiday shopping done, so the lines could get long, but it also passes by pretty quickly sometimes. My wife and I have never had any issues with the customer service here. We've been in and out of here within a reasonable amount of time. Thank you. read more

I have been looking back on what I used to do as a transplanted Canadian in Minnesota for the two years that I had spent in this fine state. I never visited a TJ Maxx. How could that be? I can only answer by saying that I loved ShopKo and it suited my needs. Now that ShopKo is gone, TJ Maxx is on my radar. Frankly, I have a natural inclination to visit at least one TJ Maxx store. I did a search and drove over to this store. This store is in a huge plaza. Kohl's is directly opposite from TJ Maxx. It's almost like this plaza was built for me! I parked smack in the middle of both and walked in. The handbag section greeted me. I saw a clear backpack. It would have been too big to bring to a Minnesota Wild game, even though it is clear. It has a nice selection of Kipling bags. I also saw a Dooney & Bourke Minnesota Wild handbag. It is cool for any Vikings fan. I visited this store in mid-October. Christmas merchandise was out. It seemed aimed at your dog. I expect to see Christmas stuff year-round if this trend continues. So, for dogs who look forward to Christmas goodies, their owners need to shop here. I hate shopping, like despise it. Its just a personal anxiety of mine. But I don't mind going to this TJ Maxx. The employees here always greet you and will do a polite courtesy check to see if I need help finding anything, but after that, they leave me alone. (For which I personally prefer because I shop with my earbuds in and listen to music.) This particular store is always neat and organized (unless you're shopping behind a tornado customer of course but that's not their fault). Also, plz don't be that person. Grow up and pick up after yourself like your mother taught you. The only problem I've had here is some sticky screaming child came up to my cart and started throwing stuff in and out of it and their parent was nowhere in site. Again, not the stores fault at all. I only mention it because it was irresponsible parenting and (this goes out to all the parents reading) WATCH YOUR CHILDREN. Not only is it rude to let them touch what isn't theirs with their nasty little bacteria ridden Petri dish hands all over merchandise that other people plan to buy, but also it isn't safe. This T.J. Maxx is always one of my go to destinations when I'm in Bloomington. They always have a great selection of products and very affordable prices. It's hit or miss when it comes to hair products, but they will always let you know when something is coming in. The employees are always friendly and sometimes too talkative. I enjoy coming here and will definitely be back. read more

T.J. Maxx, you are always a pleasant surprise. A friend suggested looking here after I got a haircut and wanted to get round hairbrush. I was nervous at first that their selection would be limited but it turned out to be a much better choice than Ulta or Target, both selection and price wise. T.J. Maxx also stocks a good variety of bath products, including scrubs, facial creams, and blow dryers. Among them I found a shower body sponge which I was super happy about since Target only offers one brand for this product and the string has consistently broken off for my last three. The atmosphere isn't the greatest but it's the place to look for the best discounted items. read more

Very limited selection as this seems to be a smaller Tj Maxx. Cashiers are poorly trained and don't seem interested in providing any sort of customer service. For example, I had a few items that had no sticker on them. One such item was a bottle of capers, but I found another bottle of the same size/volume/etc. marked at $2.49 and figured I'd bring it up since usually the same items are the same prices, and without any of this item coded, they usually just scan the other item that has a barcode in its place. This became way too much of an ordeal. My checker turned to another coworker to ask him what to do. She told her to have someone do a price check for her. So my checker turned to the young man next to her and asked him to do it. (So far, nothing out of the ordinary) He then picked up the jar and says "I don't know what these are," sets them back down, and reiterates that he has no clue what that jar is and thus can't do a price check. Since when do you have to be intimately familiar with the item to do a price check? So the incapable male cashier then asks another worker, who picks up the bottle, glances at it, and says (to a different customer) "how about $3.99?" Well that lady was then redirected to me, and I asked what the basis for the $3.99 price was. Seriously, all she did was look at the bottle I wanted and pick a price out of her head--at least I had a similar bottle that said $2.49! The whole situation was very frustrating and ultimately I was somehow charged for 2 bottles of capers. There was yet another item I had an issue with. This was a makeup item that had no box and had obviously been swatched/opened. I shop at other Tj Maxx Store's quote often, so I know that their policy when something like this happens is to discount/clearance the item. I asked if she could do that, and again, she had to ask about 3 different employees for advice. No one spent any time trying to help her at the register, and she obviously had no idea what she was doing. (Then again, it didn't seem like her colleagues were very knowledgeable either.) After she seemed to give up on getting help, she told me that she would give me a discount for the item and finished ringing up my items. I never saw her actually do anything on the register aside from ringing up items, so when she told me to insert my card, I asked if she took the discount off. She said she forgot, and seemingly proceeded to discount the items. She read the total again, and it was the same total she told me before, so I asked her how much money came off of that item. Not sure if she just made up a number, because by the time I got home and read my receipt, sure enough, NO DISCOUNT was applied to that item! I seriously think she just pretended to apply a discount, because in hindsight, it's not like she knew how to do it the first time around! I could go on about how terrible my time at this Tj Maxx was, but I don't want to waste any more time thinking about this store since I have to go back tomorrow to get my receipt adjusted. I am always very pleased with my trips to other Tj Maxx stores, but this location needs to get it together. read more

I used to turn my nose up at T.J. Maxx based on my other experiences at other T.J. Maxx stores until I stopped in here one day. I like to shop here if I'm looking for something trendy but don't want to pay Nordstroms prices for it. This store is pretty pleasant. The jewelry counter is nice and has some Betsey Johnson and Lucky in it. There are some nice basics for work such as dressy button down shirts and cute jackets. You can occasionally find some Marc by Marc Jacobs and Juicy here too. The purses here seem nice and are discounted. One of the only drawbacks is that this place can get very busy on Saturday afternoons. I would recommend shopping during a non peak time. read more

Bought a phone case from this TJ Maxx, got home, and there was no phone case inside the package.... just a white little box in the shape of a phone. Went back, and there was another package exactly like it that was also empty. Management still wouldn't let me return it. Shitty service. 0 out of 5. read more
