The fries were crunchy with a soft interior. Belgians just know how to do fries the right way. Everything is made fresh here and you can taste it. The bread was even some of the best I have had! The curtius beer was my favorite. It is light and goes down easy. You can also buy some to-go from the shop and I highly suggest you do that! So good! Their beer, Curtius, has taken over the town, and for good reason - it's a great, dry Blonde, at 7%, with a little cloudiness that's likely the result of some wheat in the mash. It's like a Duvel but drier and not quite as strong. They have a bar menu but were out of most things when we were there. So we got hapjes (chicken wings) and the cheese plate, which had 3 outstanding cheeses, including a really nice local chevre.

With our limited French and the waitresses limited English, we managed to place our order, and even though the portions looked a bit smaller than anticipated, we were happy with our choice. I got the boulet with salad and fries, and the boulet is like a meatloaf-tasting hamburger in ball form, drenched with a sweet, tomato-y sauce. It was quite tasty, and I really liked the accompanying fries that had just the right amount of crisp to fluff ratio. The salad with vinaigrette dressing was good too (but I could have had it without the onions!). Overall a pleasant experience, and a good find in Liege after walking around.
