This is the only food spot that I have an account with and I think that alone explains it. Food & drink: (5/5) This is one of my fav casual spots to eat ever! An extra bonus is that it's super close by to me which I appreciate. I usually rotate between the spicy chicken bowl which is actually decently spicy, and the grilled shrimp bowl which is cooked and seasoned to perfection literally every single time. Not to mention I LOVE their pico and sauce. I'm not sure of everything that goes into them but they are genuinely so addicting. Even their rice is cooked really well- fluffy, hot, almost buttery? I've never had their poke before but my partner and friends tend to get it so I'm sure it's good as well. We tried their chicken wings for the first time during our most recent visit and I'm truly upset that I didn't order this sooner. The outside is crispy yet light, and the inside is SO juicy. Service: (5/5) Everyone here is always incredibly kind. You order at the front counter as you walk in, so interaction is pretty limited to that and them bringing out your food.

Stopped here today for the first time after seeing the many 5 star reviews. I quickly saw those reviews were legit. This is my favorite new place I've been to this year. Smiles on all staff faces and a warm welcome when we entered. It's great to feel happy when you first enter a restaurant It was busy, but our was taken quickly, and our food arrived quickly also. We both got the crispy chicken. It was cooked fresh, juicy, and very good. The pico with the rice was very good also. First time I've heard of this. This is going to be a new food trend for me. We also got a side of kimchi for $4. It was very good as well, and enough for 2 people. At the end of our meal, our server asked if this was our first time in, and if we enjoyed our meal. Seemed like she was sincere in caring about our response. I said a big YES and YES to both questions. I also loved the DJ's on TV playing great music. It created a great vibe. Ta Joia will be a must stop for me anytime I am passing through the Canyon Park area! Congratulations the owner and staff for making this a fun, inviting spot with excellent food!

Recently visited my family and it wouldn't be a complete Washington trip without getting some Ta Joia! Glad to indulge in the amazing food this family has to offer. I've missed the amazing flavor of mixing the pico, rice and cilantro sauce soo much. Had to get a little bit of everything this trip including my favorites grilled shrimp, spicy chicken and kalbi. More than happy to feel the warm welcoming atmosphere they've always provided. Thank you Ta Joia for a meal served with love.

Second time here. Teriyaki with little magic, food is fresh made and delicious. Little touches like option to add rice cakes to your meat, enjoyed the mix of South American and Japanese flavors, very unique. Team is so friendly, my daughter loved the rice cakes and wanted some more and the cook gave her an extra side of it. Atmosphere is super cute, like the sign says: good things are coming!

I struggle with this review because I really really want to love TaJoia, especially give how wonderful the girl behind the counter was and how much care the staff seem to put into the food and customer engagement. I had the recommended crispy chicken, which is like a chicken katsu, with their house cilantro sauce and pico (onion, cabbage, tomatoes). The good thing is that the chicken was really crispy, and the bad is that it smelled fishy - like a dirty rag (?) It tastes totally ok - the chicken was unseasoned (?) so it's not hiding anything rotten. May be the katsu was fried using the same oil as shrimp? I like the twist on old favorites but I think overall it's just doesn't fit my taste profile... the sauce and the pico are heavily on the vinegar, making it sour and tangy... which is really not my style. I'm sad I didn't love the food, but I think others should give it a try.

Wish I lived closer to this joint bc sheeeeeesh da grindz are always gasssss -- I normally stop by once a month whenever I visit my barber in town. This place never misses! I stay getting the spicy chicken + avo cilantro + pico combo. Trust me family... I don't work for Nike but just do it. Prices + drive are worth it. The owners are hella relatable + the workers are all dope and friendly (your hair is fire big dawg) + most importantly, the food is fire. Not one bad thing to say bout Ta Joia yall. Go check em out.

    Spicy chicken with feijoada

Delicious! I ordered a special: the spicy chicken teriyaki paired with Brazilian feijoada and white rice, topped with a fried egg. Everything was flavored so nicely, I kept wanting to eat more than I could. I don't think I have ever said this about a restaurant, but even their white rice had this home-cooking taste that was irresistible. The spicy chicken is enrobed in a chili-based marinade that was so good, I didn't add a drop of teriyaki. In retrospect, I missed tasting a key element for this review! I also ordered the vegetable spring rolls and the sweet sesame rice balls--fried fare done right. I ordered takeout through their online interface, which I found straightforward. More importantly, my food, handed to me by cheery staff, was ready on time and piping hot. This spot is located in a sizable strip mall, and their space seems open and inviting for dine-in. When I read another Yelper say they traveled from Seattle just to try Ta Joia and it was worth the drive, I finally gave it a try. It was indeed excellent.

    Kalbi, oh so good!

Still the best! So grateful for the regular staple of my Seattle foodie experience. Today I ordered the incredible House Chicken Feijoada, the incredible combo of beans and sausage with egg. Seriously so good!

Delicious and happy Korean Teriyaki place. Got the spicy pork in gochjang sauce with added fried Korean rice cakes. Very good! No idea why they have this name or why they say Latin Asian bistro. There's nothing Latin on the menu at all, and all the dishes are Korean influenced. Food is delicious nonetheless. They are in the corner of the Bothell 527 Hwy QFC shopping center, a little bit hard to find

    Spicy chicken, original teriyaki

Wow, this is the best teriyaki we've had so far! We've been trying a few teriyaki places after moving to Seattle 2 years ago, and this one is by far the best! We got the spicy chicken with salad + pico (I subbed in salad for rice which I appreciate that they let me do) and original teriyaki chicken with pico and rice. We also got a side of cucumber salad. Both chicken dishes were so flavorful with nice charred, juicy chicken. I personally loved the little kick in the spicy version. Salad and pico were very good and refreshing. Ask for a cilantro sauce on the side! You order at the counter and they bring out the food to your table. People were friendly and the vibe is very casual. I just wish I live a bit closer so I can come here more regularly!

I like to search Yelp before a trip to a new city so I can find some interesting to try. Time and time again when I search Bothell, this restaurant showed up. It is a fusion Korean and Brazilian restaurant. The proteins absolutely fascinate me as I'm a huge fan of teriyaki and Korean BBQ. I ordered the combo with the House teriyaki chicken and the Galbi short ribs. All I can say is WOW, the proteins were cooked perfectly and the marinade was delicious. Their teriyaki was more savory than sweet, which is absolutely fine with me. It is served on a huge bed of fluffy white rice. The staff is so friendly. The space is nice as it had indoor and outdoor seating. Please come and create your own adventure.

    Crispy Chicken Pico De Gallo
    Christian-Immanuel C.

Located in a small plaza, parking is never a problem here. Upon entering, there's a decent amount of seating but can definitely see it getting packed during lunch time as it did towards the end of our meal. The music is also very lively and upbeat. The staff were friendly and gave us an introduction of the different dishes they offered and were able to answer my questions regarding what different dishes were and how to order. I got the Crispy Chicken with Pico De Gallo and an aioli sauce and a moment of regret hit me as soon as I took my first bite. The crispy chicken had a nice crunch but was met with juicy chicken underneath and complimented by the tasty aioli. To help cut through that was this delicious pico that brought some freshness to the dish. The plate was finished clean. The reason why I was hit with a moment of regret was because I found somewhere I liked and where I can see myself being a regular but I was just visiting the area and live far away from here. Hoping they decide to expand and open up a second location somewhere more south!

Wanted something different and Ta Joia was right there. Some bulgogi beef and spicy chicken hit the spot. Good serving size for the price and fresh unique flavors hit our belly. Great service, plenty of seating with minimal decor. The beef and chicken were tender and seasoned just right. Nice alternative to regular places.

Solid offering. Plenty of different sauces to season to taste. We started with the American Salt and Pepper corn. That was my favorite dish of the meal - a tasty and fun offering. Nice to have something a little different and this one delivered. Spicy and savory. Loved it. We also ordered the yellow curry with chicken. It was good - flavorful and filling. Next up was the Singapore noodles. They were ok but somewhat lacking in "pop" vs. what you might get in a dedicated Chinese restaurant. The last item was the Black Pepper beef. Good but a little bland as well. If I come back I'll definitely order the Salt and Pepper Corn again and explore more of the Indian inspired dishes. I get the feeling that they are stronger in that department vs. the Chinese influenced offerings. The waitstaff was very good - kudos for taking care of us.

Unjustified service charge. We were a party of 5. Your own policy adds a mandatory service charge for parties of 6 or more. We were still charged 20% automatically , then handed a tip prompt suggesting another 20%+ on top. That's not a policy, that's a shakedown. We were overcharged. My physical bill read $205. My bank notification said $215. When I went back to question it, staff kept pointing me to a digital bill that showed a different amount than what I had in hand. After pushing back, they acknowledged the discrepancy and offered my mom and me $10 InChin gift cards each as resolution. The gift cards were a trap. They came with a 10-day expiration. I live my life , I can't guarantee I'll return within 10 days, especially after this experience. So that $10 "resolution" is money I'll never see again. I was charged $10 extra AND a service charge I shouldn't have paid. This wasn't a mistake. Mistakes get fixed transparently. This was a string of decisions that benefited the restaurant at the customer's expense and when caught, the "fix" was designed to keep the money anyway. I've recommended this place to friends and family for years. That stops now.

I ordered the cabbage and pork potstickers, the Dandan noodles, a beef pancake roll, the veggie, egg and shrimp potstickers, and finally the lamb with onion potstickers and one coca-cola (yes, all of this was for me, don't judge). First, the beef pancake roll was AMAZING!!! It's a super simple item, the pancake was crispy and soft, wrapped around some lettuce and flavourful beef. This is a must order. The potstickers were all fantastic. Warm, pillowy pockets full of veggies and protein. The cabbage and pork were my favourites. Finally, the Dandan noodles. The first time I came to Modoo Hansang, I found a long hair in my soup, then a long hair in my rice. I left quickly without finishing much of anything, but the situation was taken care of by the manager. I understand this could just be a bad day, a fluke of sorts... so about 7 months later, I came back to give it another shot. They have a decently extensive menu, and they have a lunch set that is half-sized portions. I got the soondooboo and the galbi lunch set, and it was a good amount of food for one. The side dishes aren't really your traditional side dishes, and they're presented very beautifully. It makes you feel like you're fine dining. The flavor seemed a bit more fusion than traditional. They also give apps like california rolls, salad, and soup. (My gripe is that they should have used a miso dressing instead of an Italian dressing that tastes like it came from a bottle for the salad.) Overall, you order your entree, and you get what feels like a 5 course meal. Went at 1:00 PM on a Saturday, but it wasn't busy at all. I can imagine a line out the door during peak hours. I ordered the mushroom soft tofu stew (sundubu-jjigae) + pork bulgogi combo (medium spicy), and my wife ordered the Galbitang. The food arrived 10-15 minutes after ordering, despite three more tables arriving and placing orders around the same time - I noticed they got their food within the same window. This place is efficient. The sundubu-jjigae arrived in a stone pot, broth running surprisingly clear and light for how substantial it tasted. The pork bulgogi came out still sizzling on a cast iron skillet over a wooden board - the kind of presentation that makes the table next to you immediately regret their order. Portion-wise, the pork felt slightly light for a $28 combo relative to everything else on the table. The banchan deserves its own mention: eight-ish dishes - kimchi, bean sprouts, gyeran mari (beautifully golden rolled egg), seasoned greens, braised tofu, pickled daikon, and a couple more I'm still trying to identify. None of it felt like filler - the kind of sides you keep reaching for absentmindedly mid-conversation until they're gone. The rice was a multigrain mix (purple-black grains) rather than plain white, a small detail that signals care for the fundamentals. My wife's galbitang arrived looking like a commitment - massive short rib bones in a rich, clean broth that meant business before you'd even picked up a spoon. She ended up so full we packed the rice and half the dish to go. When your takeout bag solves dinner that evening, that's a PORTION SIZE WIN. One last detail worth calling out: they proactively offered me an apron since I was eating spicy food in a white polo. Small gesture, real thoughtfulness - and apparently aprons are limited, so I appreciated being asked first.
