Thank you to the staff at TA travel center. My husband lost his wallet and the last place he had been was the Burger King in the TA travel center. The phone number for the BK was going to a fax so we called the TA travel centers main number and whoever answered the phone was so nice and helpful. She walked over to the Burger King and asked if anyone had turned in a wallet and asked everyone around. She then got his contact info so they could call if they found it. As it turns out we found the wallet at home. He had been traveling and our home was about 1.5hrs from this place. He had unpacked all his stuff so we had a lot of places to look for it. After a frantic 3-4 hrs we finally located it, but I wanted to take a moment to thank the staff at TA Travel Center for their help and compassion. read more

Ok people this is going to be the worse review I have done. Today me and my daughter stopped here to take my 10 hr break. I got here about 230pm. When we got here we decided to take showers separately and my shower room wasn't cleaned properly. She hers wasn't either. Then we used the bathroom some time later and omg they were very nasty. Stopped here during our Thanksgiving travels. It was busy, which was to be expected. We got gas. Not much of an issue there. The issue came when we went to the bathrooms. For a holiday weekend, you'd think they'd be on their game. Nope. 2 of the 4 toilets in the women's bathroom were not working. Bathrooms dirty. Stopped in for a little break doing a trip to Milwaukee happy to report the Cummins is getting 22.6 mpg. The pic at the pump threw me off. DEF?? Diesel exhaust fluid? WTF? It's a first for me too. Must be some kind of new additive. it is added to exhaust at a rate of 3-5% to help reduce NOx levels for newer trucks. Be careful it can cause engine damage if your truck is not setup for it. Been to many travel plaza's. Decent enough stop. Cleanliness was probably a C- The buffet just doesn't work for me, and the layout felt kind of off. Almost uninviting and sparsely staffed. Personally I think they would have done better with a good sit down restaurant. Handy stop for a decent sit-down breakfast while traveling Northwest IN stretch of I65. Good enough even local residents eat here. Highly recommend the scrambles - the eggs are always perfectly cooked, no matter what hour of the day or night. Reasonable prices, quick service, back on the road all satiated and such. Clean - very nice staff - fuel - lots of snacks to stock up for the drive. I was having an issue when I pulled up. Low tire pressure, and the Air machine only takes quarters. I went in and asked if I could add $1 to my gas bill, pay with a credit card, and get 4 quarters. "Nope, can't make change on a card, ATM is over there", The ATM Fee is 3.95, more than most casinos, however no chance of winning here. Terrific. Walk to the register with my $20. "Oh, we can't go into the drawer, you gotta buy something". Does TA stand for Take Advantage? Gum is 1.65 everything else is more expensive. Buy my gum, fill up my tank, fill up my tires (manual guage on the pump), and get the heck out. Just got out of the truck repair shop. I had an air leak that was misdiagnosed by a mechanic riding a moped to work then left immediately for another mechanic to finish the job. These guys told me the problem was an "Purge Valve" that was causing the problem. Needless, to say, it WAS NOT THE PROBLEM! I had to pay $663.30 and still have to get the problem fixed. This is awful! Then afterwards, I spoke to the manager who nonchalantly dismissed the matter said, "hey, sorry about that!" I carefully explained to him that I'm not JB Hunt, Werner, or any of the big companies, I'm an Owner Operator who actually has to budget costs for a living on the road. The manager remain un empathetic towards any words that was conveyed during the conversation. Please take my advice and learn from my mistake, DO NOT STOP HERE! Anywhere but here! There's no respect for your the working class money at this establishment. They are only interested in the corporate business donors which reflects in their attitude! Worst place to go for any type of tractor/ trailer repair. The marker lights on my trailer went out, took to the service shop, they spent from 3am til 8:30am diagnosing the problem (marker lights not working on trailer) at 8am they said we cannot find the problem we need to rewire the whole trailer- Why would they want to rewire the whole trailer when they don't know what the problem is in the first place. I don't get what kind of technician they have? Could not find a rapture in the harness or on the 7-way receptacle. The charge me $398.00 to check the problem, but were not able to find what the problem was, the easy way out is to scare the customer off saying it will be eight hour of labor plus the cost of material to rewire the whole trailer about a $1800-to $2000 dollar job. what a rip offs.
