This place was recommended to me through a friend who had dined there. As Americans a little far away from Madrid we were so nervous speaking in our broken Spanish. The waiter made us feel welcome and safe, we were able to communicate with no issue. This restaurant is located in an ancient dirty with preserved architecture, with a wine theme for decorations. The waiter paired our wine with our meals- we had a beautiful red blend with our lamb and venison. This is the best venison and lamb we have ever eaten. The food was prepared quickly and it was fresh and delicious. They did have an option for dessert and we saw other people eating their selections and it did look like it tasted great, also had coffee and espresso. Overall we had an amazing lunch in Toledo, the wait staff was attentive to our needs. read more

Great staff and great food. We sat at the bar and had tapas, sangria and veer while we waited for a table outside. The ham and asparagus and the squid and onions were fantastic. Great place for tapas in Toledo, right by the giant escalator. The bar is cute, and the seafood is excellent. We asked for recommendations from our waiter and ended up with the chiperones (cuttlefish) and the sepia (even smaller cuttlefish), both of which were beautifully grilled and delicious - I could have eaten another plate of both! We also tried the fried pig ears, which I recommend. Crispy, fried and chewy goodness, although came with ketchup on top, which I could have probably done without. Perfect place to grab lunch in Toledo. Awesome tapas and solomillo, and super friendly staff. However, the best thing about Embrujo might be the incredible on-street location, away from the tourist traps and with an amazing view. Will come back again whenever we can. read more

Don't be too alarmed if this place seems far from where most of the hotels are. Toledo is essentially a small city on top of a hill so everywhere you go is within walking distance. It's also nice to walk through the cobblestone streets and alleyways. This tourist town has plenty of restaurants and it's truly wonderful to find this restaurant that offers a wide variety of tasty tapas and is also popular with the locals. We weren't very hungry so got a few plates of tapas including Foie de pato con mermelad, Jamon Iberico and revuetos varios. The ham was truly delicious. It had a woodsy mild aromatic acorn flavor that just melted in the mouth. Everyone who works at the restaurant was fantastic including Adrian, the owner and barkeep. read more

My family and I ate here our last night in Toledo, having by then discovered how to move about more like a local in this very touristy town. Can't speak highly enough of this place. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the waiter saw to it that we didn't *over* order, as we tend to do with tapas. The setting was gorgeous--a quiet part of the old city, on a beautiful patio with servers who didn't miss a beat or revert to English every time we struggled to remember a word in Spanish. Really can't recommend this highly enough if you're looking for great food away from the crowds (yet still easy to reach). read more

The grilled squid and venison croquets made for an interesting combo. The portions are fairly generous for Tapas style. The oxtail had lots of meet and the pig cheeks were pan fried in a way that resembled taco meet, which resulted in a good plate, though obviously a bit on the fatty side. Overall not bad, but as is typical in Spain, dont expect very flavorful spices. read more

Great atmosphere and friendly service here. We were the only two Asian tourist there and most of guests are local. Their squid is fresh with easy seasoning! Citrus cocktail recommended by the bartender(friendly and lovely) is nice. Although we only stayed in Toleto one night, Taberna Embrujo left good impression for us. read more

Our best meal in Spain! The staff is very friendly and kind and the food was amazing!! I had the chipirones and my son had the venison and they were both excellent. The tapas offered along with our drinks were delicious too. We visited Toledo as part of an organized day trip tour from Madrid and opted to do lunch on our own. So glad we took a detour from our tourist itinerary to enjoy this gem of a restaurant. read more

Stumbled at this place in early afternoon. Turns out to be a pleasant surprise! Food is 4.5 stars (tried venison and pork mixed platter - both very flavorful, with the pork platter slightly on the salty/oily side) , and the service was excellent!!! If I were to visit Toledo again, this would be my go-to spot for a good lunch/dinner. read more

This little place is a gem and shouldn't be missed if you are visiting Toledo. It's a bit hard to find-the easiest way to locate it is to ride the long escalator (not the short one near Zocodover) to the top. It's quite close to Merced Square. The small plates were enough for two we particularly like the "Sepia la plancha" (grilled cuddlefish) and the grilled vegetable plate. The prices are amazingly low and the "some English" speaking waitstaff were teriffic. Two of us were well fed and drank numerous glasses of the vino tinto and the total bill came to Euro 25. read more

This place offers such great service and excellent food! They do have menus in both Spanish and English (and maybe more) for tourists who benefit from them. The servers are all really nice and offered us help on how much food to eat, what some "off menu" options are, etc... All of the food is great, especially the asparagus with jamon! read more

We (wife and I in our 60s and daughter and son-in-law in their early 30s) were in Toledo for three days in May of 2015. We found this place the first day, by dumb luck, and ate at Embrujo the next two days as well. Can't say enough about the food, service and hospitality....absolutely fantastic. Good idea to go early or late as it is always busy. We ate inside each time but there is a large area outside as well if the weather is good. read more

Had an excellent meal here last night. Food is served rationes style. Our family of three ordered the tuna salad, potatoes with chili sauce, and Iberian pork with onions. Everything was good but the pork was sensational. The staff was friendly and provided an English menu. The entire dinner with bottled water was less than thirty euros. read more
