When we got there, we were sat in good order and everything was quite nice. However, we realized there was going to be some interesting developments when the server came by and he seemed a little nervous, but that's understandable. In any case we placed our orders, I ordered the breakfast platter special, which was fried chicken and biscuits with country sausage gravy my wife ordered the eggs Benedict my daughter for her birthday ordered the French toast with two eggs and my son ordered the chicken and waffles. Talking first about the chicken and waffles. I've come to see that many locations offer chicken and waffles. This being about average for what I would consider chicken and waffles as it was a small filet cut in a half upon a very thin flat waffle, which would've done better to be a Belgian waffle with a much fluffier plump chicken filet. My son did enjoy it but when he finished it the server came by and he says did you enjoy that? Was it good, it must've been good because you ate everything! Then let's discuss my wife's eggs Benedict, which she thoroughly loved. However, the ham looked like it was sliced deli ham for a sandwich instead of Canadian bacon or a little thicker slice of country ham. It's not my call, as my wife said she enjoyed it. My daughter enjoyed her stuffed French toast and egg. Everything was cooked to her liking and she said it had a good flavor and of all four dishes that certainly was the best of the four. as for the last dish, my Sriracha sausage gravy, fried chicken and biscuit with home fries, the jury is still out as the home fries came out a little overdone and cold. The sausage gravy looks like somebody spread it on with a paintbrush, and it wasn't very warm. The chicken was warm and did taste good and the biscuit was good, but it made no sense when the server said, it comes smothered in sausage gravy. Take a look at the picture, and it looks more like a couple tablespoons of gravy on each biscuit with the chicken. We did have a good time and the ambience of the place was very nice, especially seated along the windows looking at the snow outside and perhaps we'll give it another shot at a later date. Overall, nothing over the top but nothing to make us fear coming back either. It was just kind of middle of the road, but I am glad that the nicest dish and the best presentation went to my daughter for her 20th birthday. My girlfriend treated me here for my birthday and it was very good. Table 9 is a cute little place near the riverfront trail and has a nice view. We started the evening with drinks and an appetizer. We ordered the sriracha fries and they were so good. Definitely recommend. The menu had a little bit of everything on it and the Italian sandwich caught my eye. I was shocked how big it was and didn't disappoint. I couldn't help but noticed how understaffed the place was. There were only three girls running around as hostess, waitress, bartender taking care of all at least 20 different parties. They did a terrific job but nonetheless just an observation. We stopped in here for a snowy Saturday brunch after a long night out. We didn't have a reservation but it was decently empty since we came right in at 1030 but I would recommend a rezzy for a Sunday. Our waitress was super cool and patient with our group. We got drinks quickly and food quickly too. Prices here for food and drink were definitely more city pricing than what I expected in Morgantown (10$ for a mimosa). They had some special Taylor swift drinks which were fun and the breakfast options were great. The size of each entree was big, so for the price you get a lot of food. A lot of hits but a few misses- the fries with aioli and sriracha were a miss (fries were decent) and the sausage biscuits and gravy were a bit dry and hard. Otherwise everything was great like the bacon omelette and the steak and eggs were great. I wish the chicken with the Caesar salad was more blackened as the grey color was a bit off putting. Definitely would come back for fancier brunch. read more

Table 9 is located right in the river walk in the Wharf District of Morgantown. While the interior had a good vibe, it's the river patio that you want. We were lucky that the weather was great on a November evening and the patio was not crowded at sunset. They have a full bar with a good wine list. I was surprised they did not have any salads, and not many appetizers. My friend and I split the brussel sprouts and the lamb. This was a good portion for two. The brussels were crispy with a creamy hollandaise sauce. The lamb chops were cooked to order, with a creamy pesto sauce and a side of roasted fall veggies. We also split a slice of an Apple compote cheesecake, just as good as it sounds. Service was great, everything came out hot at a good pace. After the sunset, with the low lighting from the hung lights, and low music, this would be a great date spot. read more

They were trying hard to be fine dining, but food overpriced and not as good as the night before at Chili's.

The setting is beautiful on the river with lots of windows. The service was average with some long wait times but nothing too bad. I had the duck with battered and fried green beans and wild rice. The duck was perfectly cooked but didn't benefit much from the other ingredients added by the chef that were ultimately overpowered. There were also a lot of dirty dishes sitting on the bar and at un-bussed tables. It wasn't bad but at this price point I was disappointed. read more

Came here for a late brunch (2:15p) on a Sunday and had no difficulty finding seating. The restaurant is situated right in the Wharf district and has large windows looking at the water. Probably a great view in the summer/any day where it is sunny! For food, I was told the Buffalo Chicken sandwich as a I was told by one of the hostess that it was "the best bang for your buck". It was definitely a good portion of food and a pretty good sandwich. I know it isn't a classic brunch option, but I'd definitely recommend this sandwich to anyone that stops by this place! We had come here a few years ago and had some incredible roasted Brussels sprouts and mussels in a delicious curry. With those tastes lingering sweetly in our memories, we returned. We tried the deviled or stuffed bacon wrapped dates, ricotta stuffed portabello (which had the yummy Brussels sprouts) and pork chop. This time, we loved our server (shout out to Sean) but sadly felt the food was over salted from our sprouts to brined pork chop. The plates were visually attractive but we needed more flavor balance. We came here because of the good reviews here but unfortunately I don't have much good to say about this place. The restaurant is advertised as a Gastropub but I don't agree with this description based on my brunch meal. It took a long time to be seated and the bar was totally open. We would have been happy to sit there but did not get that option offered to us. This impressive large dining room takes quite a lot of walking to get to and from kitchen to table. Our server seemed challenged by this. The first thing to arrive was the coffee. My dining partner said that it tasted worse than what we were drinking in the 2 star hotel we were staying at so I insisted that he upgrade to a French press. These are mini-French presses coming to about 12 ounces total I would estimate. It served the purpose but the coffee was not the style that we like. They are charging as if there is a dedicated cafe but with only 2 options for the selection of beans it's not really justified. I was really looking forward to the bloody mary mussels that I saw online but these were not on the menu. That's ok, I understand that menus change. My salad was fine, fresh ingredients. Chicken breast tenderloins were right on the edge of being overly cooked, which is a compliment. I always expect overly cooked chicken breast in restaurants which is understandable with health concerns. My dining partner went with a tomato omelette. This read well with the mozzarella, basil and balsamic. All additions to omelettes must be ordered separately however so what looks like a reasonably priced omelette turns into something that you might regret if you add things on. The hash browns for example were most likely frozen, precooked, and thrown in a fryer for the orders. We looked at other tables and no one was eating them. My husband was very hungry so he ate them but it was a far cry from a Gastropub experience. The tiny bottles of Prosecco in a bucket are a nice option. If you split mimosas with your table that's a nice price for drinks in a restaurant. The fried pickles were a disappointment unfortunately. Very oily. The drizzle of some sort of mustardayonaise with dill should have also been disclosed on the menu description. I was not a fan. Maybe the dinner menu is better, I don't know. The hostess said that they were having troubles because the porch was closed so maybe it was just a bad day. It was a cold rainy day so I'm sure it's a nice atmosphere to sit outside when the weather permits but we did not have this experience. The next time I'm in Morgantown though I will probable try a different place. read more

Working at The University of West Virginia this week and it's a Tuesday evening. I'm hungry and I've Yelp'ed a few restaurants, but Table 9 features a "Burger Tuesday" each week. I'm very intrigued by this. I'll go into more detail later.... but here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: This place is set right on the Monogahela River in one of the most peaceful and beautiful locations. Once inside there's a small waiting room for in case it's packed here (which happens often). The bathrooms are also up here in case you have to go. Once into the dining room it opens up into a big space with the bar off to the right and big glass windows to let in all the natural light. The huge outdoor patio is right off of the main room and it's so beautiful out there. Light woods line the floor of the deck and aluminum furniture makes the stuff easy to move around in case you have a big group. Right off the deck is the gorgeous river and on the other side of the bank are rows of trees and I even caught the peaceful wail of a passing train. I loved it out there. Service: Victoria was so awesome. I was sitting outside for a while before getting spoken to, but she was really busy and made sure to acknowledge me. That's all I really ask for. I even called her by the wrong name and she didn't correct me. Lol. I appreciate you. Food: Now to the food. I started with their wings which are breaded then tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce then served with scallions, pickled peppers as well as sesame seeds. They were okay, but the portion size was quite generous. I wouldn't get them again, I'm just biased against breaded wings. THE BURGER THO. So today's burger contained zucchini fries, mozzarella and chipotle ranch. Some wild ingredients, but THEY WORKED SO WELL. I was truly impressed and the actual burger meat itself was phenomenal. I don't think it would matter what you threw on the burger, it would be good. Lol. I swapped my fries for a salad to try to be a lil' healthier. I do what I can. Value: SO. Every Tuesday they do the 3 Bs. Burger. Bourbon. Beer. For $15.00 you get a pint of beer of your choice, a shot of bourbon of your choice then the burger of the week. How sick of a deal is that?! Of course the burger comes with fries or a salad. There's a reason this place stayed busy until right before close. My wings were only $10.00 for 8 of them, but with the breading it made the wings massive thus creating an excellent portion. Your wallet definitely won't be hurting after dining here. I like that a lot. It's clear why this place is rated so high. I truly enjoyed myself, the food, the atmosphere and the service. I'll absolutely be back if I'm in town again. read more

Location. Location. Location. I have driven past this place- or the entrance to it for YEARS and not known where it was or what it was- more like that it existed. Stopped here while we were on a drive looking to drop another restaurant off our list in the tri-state area. The pictures looked good enough and the location seemed really cool - right down but the waterfront near the Marriott and close to downtown. The main issue with this place is parking - to which thanks to it being a Sunday night, we lucked out with a side street parallel parking spot with meters. There is a parking garage nearby but I am not sure the rate or whether it was usable. Walked in to what appeared to be a hostess best but the sentry wasn't st their post. Guy - who I assumed was either at long term employee, manager, or stakeholder greeted us and sat us. Decor inside was kind of all over the place - beach type accents with high ceilings - but dark wood and teal paint. I would have went with a lighter wood or a cobalt type navy blue on the walls. Ordered fried pickles and for whatever reason I ordered a glass of wine which we shared - Riesling which was good. Fried pickles was VERY good. Came with a drizzled sauce or aioli on it- which was good. A nice start. For the meal - I ordered the Kobe flank steak, which came with fried rice and bok choy. The steak was good prepared medium as requested and the rice was a little overdone for my liking. Problem was the menu seems like it always changes so when looking at this place on yelp- I was interested in a couple things that weren't on the Sunday menu. Passed on dessert and overall this was a good place. Would like to come back and sit outside on the waterfront as long as the heavy storms stay away on the next trip. read more

Although we had good service, my salad was not as described. The flat breads were ok, but cheaper and better just down the street. The fried pickles were very greasy with their breading and then the aioli or sauce they drizzled over it was also heavy and fatty with no acid to cut the fat and heaviness.
