Table 9 is a great little restaurant in Morgantown if you're looking for a modern atmosphere, cocktails and good food. The service is always very good, the menu has quite a few options and the atmosphere is clean and very cool. The patio is also fabulous during the warmer months, overlooking the water. The only reason I'm giving this place four stars is because I feel it's gone a bit downhill since opening. The menu doesn't change much, and it's a bit pricey for the amount of food you actually get. But, negatives aside, it's still a nice little place to grab dinner or brunch in Morgantown. read more

Can't say enough.. superb service, food was amazing. Came in right at the end of lunch but no attitude for waiting a little to order. We were the only ones there. The location is a little off the beaten path, park in the water st garage they validate. The location is very nice overlooking the river. The brunch at Table 9 is excellent. I had the bacon omelette and a Michelada. The omelette was what you expect, but nice large pieces of smoked bacon made it perfect. Add the homemade siracha, and is wonderful. My wife ordered the avacado eggs Benedict. It was perfectly cooked. The eggs were done sous vide style. The eggs were perfectly cooked, soft runny, but perfectly done. Each egg was placed in an avacado nest on an English muffin, with perfect hollandaise sauce. I appreciate Table 9's ambition: local, fresh produce, interesting dishes, a somewhat more upscale dining experience. By and large, the food is good, though as many have noted, portions are small and prices are high. I enjoyed the lamb special, and my wife liked her mushroom risotto. The problem is that, in many respects, this ambition is not matched by good execution. If this is going to be a pricy, upscale restaurant, then what's up with the large-screen TVs showing SportsCenter, and the loud music? Can we ever escape a TV in a Morgantown restaurant - at least when it's not a game day? The sports bar atmosphere inside led us to sit outdoors, which was more pleasant but, but mid-September, kinda cold and dark. The service was similarly well-intentioned but lacking. Our waiter was very nice, and reasonably prompt, but in style belonged at Buffalo Wild WIngs. Plates slapped down in front of us; didn't know how to serve wine, but made a big show of presenting the bottle; lots of "how's everything tasting, folks?". Two people in our party ordered the same dish, but one came with toasted bread and the other did not. If I'm paying over $100 for two people, a bit more class and professionalism seems in order. I should also add that by 9 PM (Friday night), we were the last people in the restaurant. The staff was milling about, waiting for us to leave; instead of asking whether we wanted dessert, the waiter just brought us the bill. So, in what seems like a sad refrain, I'm left wishing for a grown-up, reasonably priced restaurant, for the rare occasion that my wife and I get a babysitter, want to put on something nice, and go out. Sriracha garlic fries here are everything!! Super deliciousss. We also got the pickles for appetizer and yum no regrets. For entrees we got two orders of French toast and the veggie melt. BUT.... the bartender (Allison) was not happy with our table being "loud" (we had 6:30 reservations). She really put a damper on our evening. Table 9 is a bit out of my price range, so this is not a normal dinner spot. That being said, for an occasional "treat-yourself" style evening, or a hot date, this is a great spot. The location next to the river (and the huge floor-to-ceiling glass next to it) really helps with the ambience--which is already quite impressive. However, I'm here on yelp for one thing and one thing only. The Tuesday $15 Beer-Bourbon-and-Burger night. Oh my goodness, this is nothing short of a revelation. Each week is a completely new burger, which have never failed to impressed. On quizzing our waiter, we discovered that they've never repeated a burger recipe -- each which is completely new. So the burger is good, but so is their beer. They highlight 5 or 6 (I believe) taps that I think were all from WV breweries. And they picked the cream of the crop -- they had quite an impressive collection. Less impressive was their Bourbon selection, but they still had two good middle-shelf choices (I forget their names off the top of my head). While I don't think there's a dress code, you'll probably not want to show up in shorts and a t-shirt. You'll probably at least want to throw on some pants and a button up (if you have one lying around, otherwise just ditch your obnoxious graphic t-shirt). I try to hit up the Tuesday night burger specials at least once a month, they're really quite special, and for $15 it's my favorite weekly deal in Morgantown. read more

We went for the brunch and found the food was ok over all. Their appetizers were great but when we got the main course we all found each plate lacking in some way or another. Not enough pop or flavor. I had the biscuits and gravy and was served canned biscuits. Gross chewey grands 'flaky' pull apart biscuits with that distinct texture and off-putting preservative taste. My entire table had some and agreed with the critique. Maybe mine was an emergency replacement but still it only takes a short mix to make a good biscuit. At least use frozen; canned is unacceptable. read more

We were in town for a wedding staying at a nearby hotel and decided to stop by based on reviews on Yelp. Wow! Am I glad we stopped here! As soon as we walked in my husband and i could tell this was our type of restaurant with great ambiance and music. We ordered fried pickles and bbq wings to start. As soon as we finished the fried pickles, our wings arrived and both were fantastic! For our main course I had the scallops and my husband had the duck breast, again we were both amazingly satisfied. Another fantastic location with lovely views of the river. Parking can be hit or miss but there is a garage nearby so that's a plus. They even have outdoor tables available when the weather is nice. Service was very friendly and quick. We visited for brunch and I was shocked to see that there weren't very many patrons. There are not a lot of options for brunch on the Bridgeport/Morgantown area so I figured they would be packed. I even made reservations just to be on the safe side. The food was very good. My favorite thing we ordered was the sriracha fries. They were fantastic. I had the chicken and waffles, it was good, but not my favorite chicken and waffles ever. The chicken was a little on the dry side, but still very good. It was a large portion as well. The bloody Mary's were also very good. Have been eating here for the past 3 years. Unfortunately the food quality and service has gone down considerably. My last dinner here was heavy on the salt and oil. Yet I still came back to try the brunch. After an hour and a half of waiting for the food, found out the wait staff forgot to put in our food order. Maybe this explains why the wait times are outrageously long whether eating in or ordering to go. Absolutely excellent experience every time! Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive! (The only complaint I'd have would be the bartenders can be a little heavy-handed, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.) My boyfriend and I both have rather tricky diet requirements (he's vegan and I have food allergies) and we called ahead to ensure that we'd be able to eat anything there, and they accommodated us completely! We didn't have choice of menu, but with our trust completely in the chef we were not disappointed in anything in our 4-course valentine's dinner, in fact it was the best meal I've had in a long time! One of my favorite higher-end places in Morgantown -- I've been three times. They actually have what I consider the best fries in town (served with garlic aioli and sriracha)! Don't pass those up. The brussels sprouts with hollandaise are also quite good. Mmmm. Also, they consistently offer creative vegetarian entree options which are hard to come by usually; I got a teriyaki mushroom risotto dish once that was AMAZING and I don't even like mushrooms that much. Was a better place to eat/drink in Morgantown. Cool location, okay crowd, decent portions, relatively high food quality most of the time, and nice fries, but the service and management has felt like it has slowly but surely declined over the last two years. Specifically, management rarely smile and often seem to have a scowl on their faces--unlike waitstaff, who oddly tend to be sharper, friendlier, and generally more professional. What keeps coming across from managers is, "we don't give the slightest rip about you." That gets punctuated in how they short-pour most customers on "pints" of beer (I've made a point to watch that on several visits). If management know who you are, know you tip consistently above custom, can recognize you come relatively frequently, and still have a hard time greeting you in a friendly, genuine, and restaurant-professional way, they have a fairly big problem. Only rarely a smile or a hello--I don't know of any decent restaurant where any manager can roll that way and last long (and shouldn't). Recently, if we call ahead to verify some basics, especially post-COVID, and show up, apparently we now risk getting told what had been verified (and volunteered) on the phone--and not signaled otherwise elsewhere on the web--is not really going to be the case when you get there. In discovering that, we just got up and went elsewhere, thankfully making a discovery in town that looks like it will be a permanent substitute. Other issues: (1) whiskey servings in their Tuesday special are short (~1.25 ounces, not right): would be better to add a dollar or two to the special and serve at least a proper/standard jigger single (1.5+ ounces), but their pours are thankfully standard (jigger) or better when you order off-special, (2) parking is tricky or costly. It's been said that most good restaurants have a good run for a few years, and then start to fall apart at the edges. Looks like that could be happening here (COVID no excuse for dropping the ball bigtime--competition is thankfully proving that). read more

My wife called for reservations and when asked when we would arrive, in this case it was 7:15PM, the hostess said no need...you should be fine, thus ending the call. We arrive at the exact time discussed and the hostess said that they were booked. Lessons here; Don't believe the Hostess at Table 9; and Just get the darn Reservation. Morgantown is for sure not known for the food but table 9 is an awesome restaurant which makes a great effort! We were visiting my cousins and came here for dinner! We sat outside with a view of the lake which was wonderful! Most of the appetizers we got were tasty, specially the Brussels sprouts and grilled shrimp. I wasn't a huge fan of the watermelon and feta snack as the watermelons were really mushy and soft. We got the fresh fettuccine, hanger steak, and duck for the main dishes. Everyone was pretty happy with their main dishes. Overall I definitely recommend this restaurant. Great find in this small town!! read more

We had dinner tonight and it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time, certainly the best I've had since moving to Morgantown. The thing to know is that this restaurant serves small plates which is reflected in the prices. We knew this going in, but our terrific server also explained different ways we might approach the menu. We shared appetizers: fries, beet salad, and grilled shrimp (one of the best and most interesting dishes I've tasted in months). All were tasty and amenable for sharing. We decided to order our own entrees. I had the hanger steak which was served with celery root puree, duck fat potatoes, and asparagus. My dad had the lamb and my mom had the osso bucco special. Each dish would have also been easy to share if you wanted to try that approach. i tried a taste of everything and each dish was perfectly executed. My steak was cooked rare but was still nicely seared. I appreciated that vegetables aren't an after thought here; all of the vegetable were fresh, high quality, and artfully prepared. For example, my asparagus was grilled and my mom's broccolini was roasted. In a world of steamed vegetable medleys, the chefs at Table 9 know not to cut corners and allow quality produce to shine. We were tempted by the poached pear dessert with almond ice cream. It was a good end to a great meal. I appreciate that it wasn't cloyingly sweet. I know that some have complained about portion sizes, but I felt like we had a lot of food for good value. Perhaps most importantly, the food was delicious. If you come here expecting a 12 oz steak, that won't be your experience. But if you and a dining partner order a couple of dishes, I think you'll leave satisfied but not stuffed. Over-all the restaurant space is inviting. This isn't a stuffy place; there's a large bar where you could sit to have small plates and watch the game on the big screen. There's also a large patio that I hope to visit when the weather gets warmer. With impressive weekly specials (like the Tuesday burger deal), I look forward to enjoying many more meals here. read more

Date night! Wonderful blend of casual yet upscale ambiance with outside seating overlooking the Mon' River. Nice music playing on outside speakers including Bob Marley...to make the scene even better, our dog Gypsy got a warm welcome and a cold dish of water from staff and settled content beneath the table. For us the menu is more of a tapas/small plate type dining. The menu includes starters, 1st and 2nd course groupings. Some of the menu items had clever names that required some schooling from the waiter. We didn't make a poor choice, all were delicious-probably a reflection of the entire menu. The watermelon w/feta; and wrapped figs with pepper jam were perfect starters. We then chose 3 items from the 2nd course: 4 thumbs up for the lamb chops, scallops were amazing. The plates are small but priced appropriately. We found the shrimp linguini dish a little bland for our taste but still very good. The wine list deserves a shout out, far more extensive than the food choices. A half dozen great local beers on tap made me happy. All in all, I don't think you can go wrong with a night at Table 9. read more

I've had some ok meals here and some good meals. My biggest gripe is they don't seems to salt their food very much (especially at brunch) and don't have salt on the table. It's the only restaurant that I bring my own salt in my purse. read more

This was our 2nd time and it was just as great as the first. I had the pan seared duck, my husband had a chicken and barley special and both were awesome. Great service, great cocktails, great food. Both times we have driven up (at night) we've wondered whether it's open or not. They don't have any signs and it can be a little dark but walk up and try it! This place was absolutely nothing special. It was pricy and mediocre at best. When we arrived for brunch we were also informed that there would be no seating except for at the bar unless we had a reservation. When asked why she said that they only took reservations for brunch. When I asked why this wasn't stated on their website, she proceeded to state that they cannot use their own website or update anything. That is some VERY poor customer service especially when trying to take someone from out of town there for a "nicer" meal. After this experience we will not be going back. read more

Stopped here looking for something different in Morgantown. So glad I did! Had the fried zucchini/crab appetizer. Lamb and Halibut were our mains. Everything was outstanding. The quality is exception. The flavors are unique, but not outside of what you are used too, just combined in ways you might not think of yourself. Location is great. Parking is easy (park in the lower level of the waterfront hotel garage). If you are looking for a change of pace, are tired of the chain eateries; then this is a place to try. Loved it. read more

We stopped for a quick lunch when passing trough Motown. I got the blackened chicken sandwich and it was seasoned perfectly and the chicken was really juicy and recommend substituting ranch with the table 9 sauce. My BF ordered the table 9 burger and garlic aioli and siracha fries. There was a perfect sear and cook on the burger. Everything was delicious. We will definitely stop here again on our next trip to Motown. read more

The food was nice, at least, looked nice. However, the waiting time let me not come back again. We waiting for 20 minutes for the appetizers, that was fine, and waiting another 30 minutes for the first-round entree.....and another 20 minutes for the second-round entree....At last, we waited at least 20 minutes for the bill......... We had 2 hours spent in the restaurant and only less than 15 minutes on the food. We don't want to the experience like this any more. read more
