The food was authentic Mexican. The service was slow but worth the wait. The ambiance felt like you were in Mexico getting tacos.

Food is delicious every time! Price is on point and service is always great. Parking can be a little challenging but it's worth it.

This place is located across the street from Glendale High and is street parking only. I can't say anything about their patio seating because I've only been once and did a pic quick pick up. My family usually complains when I bring carne asada tacos home for them from other places; and so, one day they said they wanted to order from here because they have such good asada tacos. You can call their number and place pick up orders, they will give you your order number and the order is ready in about 10 minutes. I decided on the pollo tacos and they were really good. They have both mild green salsa or the spicy red - both really good also. I will definitely come back again to try more stuff off their menu. read more

First time my coworker took me here, I was surprised. This place looks authentic (that's what I thought). Tried the all lengua burrito. It was a little bit pricey but I think it was worth on how much lengua you're getting. Just look at it on my picture. This thing is huge. The only thing that kinda sucks is the salsa. I got this huge burrito but only got one salsa on the side. If I want more I have to pay extra But I would come here a lot during my lunch break. read more

Damn. I had high expectations for this lil spot. When you walk up it gives you a good vibe like I'm gonna get some good tacos. I ordered 5 carne asada 3 with cheese. It's like they didn't beat the meat up on the grill or do the tortilla right. Tacos were cold, meat was cold cheese wasn't melted. Definitely gonna stick to curbside tacos. This place is pretty awesome! I never thought there would be a place like this in the area because it's mostly surrounded by residential housing. Parking is limited to street parking and the place is located right across from the Glendale High School. The curb area right in front has a 30 minute parking limit during a certain time period. The menu is posted on the building and you basically walk up to the window and place your order. There is seating available on both sides of the building. There is a minimum purchase amount of $10 for credit card use or there will be a 40 cent fee. They accept MasterCard and Visa credit cards (although not posted, they also accepted American Express). After ordering, take your receipt and wait until you're called. There are bins near the order window where you can bag peppers, radish slices, and other condiments. We ordered several tacos that included: Asada, Pastor, Lengua, and Cabeza. They're topped with veggies and were so good. For $2.25, you can get a soft taco (corn tortilla) with any of the meats listed on the menu. They pride themselves on being slow cooked and being served fast... I totally agree with that. Some people might see the seating arrangement as a little strange, but I think it adds some charm to this little neighborhood taco stand that's been around for over 15 years. Overall, the food is pretty amazing. I wouldn't mind coming all the way out here to grab some tacos. The prices already include tax so no need to do too many calculations. Went here this past weekend 09/29/2024 and ordered a carne asada taco and burrito. Great value as all tacos are 3 dollars after tax and they have a wide variety of meats from chicken, asada, stomach, tongue and more. The taco was great and the asada tasted fresh. The burrito was big and filled with asada, rice, onions, and beans. Service was quick and accurate. It's a small place with a few seats to sit outside and as I was eating there was no shortage of people coming to the window to order and to order by phone. Ambiance is average, as mentioned only outdoor seating as it's very small and older building. There were a lot of flies hanging around but that shouldn't take away from the taste of the food. read more

I had been wanting to check this place out since moving to Glendale and I finally was able to Sunday night for dinner. First, there is no parking besides what is available on the street. Since it was a bit late we were able to find parking right in front. I ordered a carne asada torta and my boyfriend got a chicken quesadilla to go. There were signs near the register that explain what items get one cup of salsa and that an additional salsa would be $0.25. While you wait for your food, you can prep some to go baggies for limes, radishes, or whole roasted jalapeños. When we got home, we had received one red salsa and one green salsa. In my torta, I had lettuce, avocado, tomato, onion and cilantro. I found that I liked the red salsa more than the green as it had more of a kick. At the end of it all, I was a bit disappointed as all the reviews were great and had me excited, but I found myself indifferent. I'd now be more willing to drive to Hollywood to get more authentic Mexican food but I'll give this place another try and get some tacos next time. read more

Honestly, was going to give this place a 2 star review, but one bad experience shouldn't overshadow the many good ones that I've had with this place. Regardless, this review is going to focus on my last experience with Taco Azteca. This place is my usual go to for my burritos, and I always get an all meat burrito (carne asada) with sour cream and avocado or their lengua tacos. Whenever I go there, it's usually the owner (I believe. He's a middle aged man with black hair that's always slicked back) or another guy (tall, always wears a cap, and, I think, wears glasses). They're super nice, lovely people. Always greets me with a smile, and I'm pretty sure they know me at this point. However, the service today was somewhat bad. The guy behind the register was a skinny man. I greet him, and then I get my usual all meat burrito (no onions, no cilantro, with sour cream, and avocado) for to go. Nothing special. They charge me the full price, which is $11.25. I get home, take a big bite of my burrito, and, yeah, it's an all meat burrito, but with cilantro and onions. I didn't mind the onions and cilantro, and maybe the sour cream and avocado was on the other end of the burrito. So, I keep eating. Halfway through, no sign of the sour cream and avocado. With that, I give them a call, and the guy who was behind the register (I believe that would be him) picked up, and asked for a moment. After half a minute, he picks it up and I pretty much explain him my situation. He told me that if I come back, with the burrito, they'll make me a new one. I told him "No, it's not my fault that the burrito is like this? Why should I come back? I'm already at work. Can't you leave a note or something that I can get a free sour cream and avocado upgrade for my next burrito?". I wasn't even asking for a full refund. He then says that he can't do anything about it since it's already been made. He gave me a half-hearted sorry, and said that he'll only give me a new burrito if I come in today and give him the burrito back. Before I could talk even further, he said that they were getting busy and hanged up. I'm still going to go back to this place, of course. I recommend their lengua tacos; they're super moist, flavorful. Their food is amazing, and service is usually pretty good, too. Maybe just not today. read more

Went once and definitely will not be back. I ordered a carne asada taco and asada torta. The taco was tiny and was slimy. I don't know if it was the meat or everything mixed together, but it had a weird consistency and was slimy. The meat lacked flavor. The bread for the torta was the average size. The filling portion was okay. I had to add lots of salsa to make it taste better. Service was friendly. However, the service was really slow even if there weren't that many people. read more

My work takes me all around LA, Orange, Riverside etc, and I eat tacos every chance I get. Today I tried this place, and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered 3 lengua tacos and they were absolutely delicious!!! Not overly salted like many places, and I was able taste a soft clean delicious lengua. The service was friendly and fast. There's no need to go search for a taco truck when you can get awesome street tacos at this yellow shack. You order/pay/pick-up at the window and if you're dining there, there's some outdoor seating. I'm generally good with four of their tacos. I've tried the CARNE ASADA, CARNITAS, LENGUA and FISH and I like them all. They do take credit card with a minimum order. I love this taco place, al pasdor and langua tacos are my absolute favorite. Whenever I come here this taco place is always bustling, but the workers are always polite and efficient at preparing the food. I never have to wait long to get my orders. The radishes and lime slices are in a self serving box, and they are great to munch on with the rich and savory tacos, balancing the flavors and textures. I have introduce this place to my friends and my parents who live abroad, and the tacos we had from this place were their absolute favorite meal during their stay in California. read more

Nice place for some semi-quick Mexican food! Burritos are solid, as are the tacos. Your standard Mexican fare, pretty much. I've only had the carne, which is quite good. Parking on the street is hit or miss. Service is fine. Seating was available usually, unless it was a peak lunch/dinner type time, but I don't know how it is with Covid at this point. The best taqueria I've ever been to! You really can't go wrong with your choice of meat but I usually either go for the carne asada or the al pastor which is by far the best al pastor I've ever had (just don't tell my Tia). It's the customer service that has me coming back though. For years Taco Azteca has catered all my family parties and they always deliver top tier food with the best rice and beans, salsas, etc . included. These tacos are very good especially at that price point. You don't often see a reasonably priced taco with great quality like this one. Had carne asada, al pastor and carnitas and a bean and cheese burrito. The service was very quick, mind you it wasn't rush hour but still very good. Amazing tacos!! You cant go wrong here. Carne asada tacos and a couple of bottles of Mexican Coca colas- You will leave a happy person. Dont forget to eat your tacos with lime, delicious green salsa (mild even for even me) and wash them down with radishes. It was my first time here and my husband's second. He was in the area for work in January and found this spot and so he decided to bring us by here on our way to Disneyland. So glad he remembered this place. read more

I can't get enough of this place! I live in East Hollywood and there is barely any good brick and mortar Mexican food- and I refuse to eat at roach coaches. Azteca is like an old friend that I go and visit that reminds me of where I am from in Orange County. Excellent food all around. They speak primarily Spanish, but English as well. Food always hot and fresh. The only thing that stinks is parking, but I imagine it wasn't such a mess when it opened decades ago. 6 stars! read more

The Beef/ Carne Asada Tacos where a little too dry you could tell the beef was over cooked. The pork tacos where in my opinion not appetizing it was very very greasy the tortilla that was holding the pork was coated in oil. The service was good!
