Brands here include McDonald's, Subway, KFC, Pizza Hut Express and Chopstix Noodle Bar. While most the brands here and similar alternatives can be found elsewhere in the city centre, it's nice having them all in one place, suitable if you have people in your party who want different things, or just something simple hen sheltering from one of Manchester's rainy days, we see all too often. It can be accessed through stairs in the Arndale Shopping Centre, or escalators from Market Street. PRO TIP: If you're unable to find a seat in the main Food Court area, head down the stairs into the mall, and there is a seating area opposite Boots, which seems much quieter. It is mostly clean, but always does seem to be busy so isn't the most comfortable place in the world, but fits the job as far as a Food Court is concerned, but with Manchester's amazing dining scene, there's so much better elsewhere in the city for everything from burgers to pizza. 3*

The place is jam-packed every time of day no matter what day. You can never get a seat and if you can the table will be covered in the old fried chicken or melted cheese from someone's pizza slice. I like KFC but this one is ruined by its surroundings. The pizza is sold in slices making it really expensive. KFC smells bad. McDonalds smells bad. Subway smells bad. All mingled together, they smell unbelievable appalling. Plus its boiling hot. So I'd rather sit on the end of a skewer.

I didn't know what to expect at first but I got there around 1130am and I think they were on the switch over from breakfast to dinner .. I picked a table and got the menu up using the qr code on the table and had a browse. As most places were only opening at 12, I had a limited menu, but what was in the menu looked amazing. You can order from 1 place, or multiple places and pay on the same bill so I went for a drink from one place and an h burger from another. It was really cool, the servers brought the drink and it was very quick, and then the food came later .. but not much later. It was amazing, so delicious and juicy and just a great all around burger and great all around experience. It would be great for a group of people as each could order their own and have a mix of different cuisines. There was only the downstairs open when I went and when I go back I will go after midday but I'd have to be careful as it statutes to get a bit busy as I was leaving .. all in all it was a great place and a great experience and I will for sure be returning.

I did a bit…read moreof a double-take at the flamboyant signage at the place which used to be Ethnic Bites, but the Indian man and lady there are the same as before and reassured me that only the name has changed. The artwork is really nice (see photo) and now they are called Bollywood Dhaba. A dhaba is a roadside café serving hearty, inexpensive, homemade meals. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhaba I can't claim to have visited India, but given the choice between a dhaba and my experience of overpriced rubbish food at motorway service stations in the 'developed' west, I know what I'm having! Prices are still rock-bottom - I paid just £3.60 for half portions each of potato & aubergine sabzi and pakora curry over basmati rice. Half the curries are vegetarian and for a market stall the choice is quite extensive, maybe eight vegetarian options with another eight non-vegetarian. Portions are ample. At this price point, it was nice to see a good 50/50 ratio of aubergine to potato in that curry, and also you need to check out the pakora curry which is plain pakora in a silky, spiced sauce, maybe some yoghurt or buttermilk in there (not sure)? I'm tipping my hat to Arndale Market for giving us authentic mom & pop ethnic food places such as Bollywood Dhaba in Manchester's main shopping district. I'm reading references to Pancho's Burritos in the national press as a budget food highlight of Manchester. OK, so Mexican food is more novel to the UK, but let's not get so blasé about Indian as to forget the value of a freshly-made curry for £3.60!

They usually have about 12 different curries on offer - 6 veggie and 6 meaty. I usually have the chana masala. When I brought my sister here she opted for the vegetable korma. The friendly woman behind the counter made sure that she was aware that this was a very mild dish and recommended that she would mix something else with it. Basically, you can choose a few different curries and they'll whack them all in your polystyrene dish for you with a whopping helping of rice. You then get to help yourself to a variety of salads and sauces. Well, as many as you can balance on top of your curry. I even went back for more salad and they didn't seem to mind. At £3.30 for a massive dish of rice, a couple of different curries and a salad, this is a truly bargainous place for lunch. Of course it's not as good as proper restaurant curry but for it's tasty, filling and cheap, so get yourself down to the Arndale Market.

If you like takeaway Chinese food you're bound to find something here to suit your palate. It is by no means the best oriental cuisine to be found in the centre of town (that title belongs to The Rice Bowl) but it will absolutely do in a pinch and you're bound to get a better meal here than at any of the other fast food outlets in the Food Court, even if it will cost you a few pounds more than a Big Mac. A word of warning - I wouldn't recommend the sushi from here; it's slimy and warm. If you want cheap, decent quality sushi then get down to Wasabi in the Printworks, just a few minutes' walk away.

It is a grease disseminating, sweat emanating, fat oozing hall of fast food establishments. One can easily see and feel the difference in atmospheric conditions as one enters. Fact. KFC, Pizza Hut Express and such woe dominates the food court. Though Wing's is not in my opinion the most tasty and original authentic Oriental food in Manchester, its probably the best of the options here. They do a huge range of rice and noodle dishes, which can be conveniently taken outside of the food court to be consumed. This will vastly increase your chances of enjoying your food, and of avoiding getting acne. Its not as good as China town, but if you want to grab a quick take-away lunch, I'd certainly recommend something like the Pad Thai from here ahead of an overpriced tiny pizza from Pizza Hut Express that wont fill you up.
