While the restaurant was busy, the waitresses were taking selfies and what appeared to be a manager was sitting down eating and laughing instead of helping staff or customers. Our order was taken incorrectly multiple times. We ordered tacos with corn tortillas and received flour tortillas instead. We asked for a Dr Pepper and were given Sprite. One of our meals was completely forgotten, and when they finally rushed it out, the shrimp was still raw and the food was undercooked. The food overall was average at best, and the experience was frustrating. To make matters worse, they still charged a tip after all the mistakes and poor service. This was our first Mexican meal in Tucson and it makes you realize how much better Mexican food is in the southwest compared to Minnesota. I knew this would be true, but the contrast is unnerving because it makes you realize that what you think is "good" Mexican food has been totally distorted by mediocrity. The service was friendly and helpful -- no complaints there. The dining rooms itself seemed a bit overspaced, but certainly was clean and serviceable. Starting with the salsa and chips, well, that alone makes it all worthwhile. Having it homemade and fresh makes all difference. Then onto the steak taco I had, which was flavorful, juicy, plentiful, and had all the right toppings. That was only exceeded by the shrimp tostada I ordered with amazingly fresh and sweet shrimp. This place is definitely a hole-in-the-wall, but don't let that fool you, the mariscos here are amazing. If you're into seafood, this spot absolutely delivers time in and time out. Service is alright. It's not terrible, but it's not great either, and I've had a few visits where it felt a bit inattentive. At times, it seems like I might be underestimated as a gringo, which can be a little frustrating, but it hasn't been bad enough to keep me from coming back. The campechana is the standout and easily the reason to come here. Fresh, flavorful, and done right it's seriously to die for. Everything we had was solid and satisfying, especially for a slightly unassuming place. It's not fancy and doesn't try to be, but the food speaks for itself. Okay okay okay , here we go here we go , I would say ... Sleeper! Its a non talk about for sure. I am for sure coming back soon , I honestly got back into YELP just for this meal here . I got the Molcajete mixo. The amount of meat and chicken is what i loved but more than that the flavor of the salsa in the bowl. Super good and flavorful. The shrimp can be the bigger ones but they are a decent size still I would say . The nopales were so good ! The green onions coulda been cooked more but thats just my picky ass haha! We didn't have many choices on Xmas eve and ended up here. Lucky choice. Staff were amazingly nice even though we were the last customers before their Xmas break. Loved the asada torta. Our server was Jasmine M. and she was top notch, excellent in customer service, very attentive and friendly. The food and drinks were amazing, among the best we ever had. After a short fun hike at Tumamoc, my friends and I stumbled on this place 5min. away and were so pleasantly surprised! We got such a friendly greeting from the woman cleaning the patio, then went inside to see they had TVs playing the game as well. There are tables and booths, and I believe a bar area too. The menu was so large and had great pictures of many options, it was hard to choose! The presentation at this restaurant is amazing, the portions are large, and the salsa was a favorite at our table too! The food came out in a very decent time too for our party if 4. It's amazing that this place could easily take us while "Seis" at Mercado had a line to the Parking lot. Our server didn't seem to be the friendliest, but it may have been a cultural difference.. I do think there was a couple times she didn't understand us. You receive your receipt from the server and pay at the register at the front. At the counter there are marshmallow figures that I learned are flavored marshmallows (mine was strawberry ). Went here on a lunch date with hubby. They have a large menu and will have to come back to try out more of the dishes they have! The appetizer was ok. Kinda bland. I would prob try something else next time. Their salsa was good! They also serve their salsa with a side of pork beans. Great flavor! I got the fajita mixta and was really happy with that dish! It was alot for one person so I'm looking forward to the leftovers my hubby got the Carne Asada plate and although the meat was a bit fatty he got two big pieces of meat that made up for it. What I really liked was their customer service :) Our waiter was really friendly and on top of our drink refills. We have ended up at several Taco Giro locations across Tucson, and after bombing out with a neighboring Mexican restaurant that was closed on a Sunday we stopped in here. It was reminiscent of their other locations with the open dining room/bar and the menu that has so many choices you confuse yourself on what you want! I ordered the Chilaquiles and my husband got the Machaca. They brought the little bowl of chips with the salsa and bean dip which I love. Our server was super on top of things. Our food came out pretty quickly which was great since I was hungry...but my three stars come from the Chilaquiles. Three words. Lazy man's Chilaquiles. It was simply their chips with sauce poured over the top. I was super annoyed, but my husband was digging his Machaca and I was full from the chips (and I ate the token scrambled egg that came with my Chilaquiles) so I was good. This location is fine, but I take my Chilaquiles seriously as we all know so three stars for that alone. Service, cleanliness and Machaca were great. read more

This place has delicious drinks and good! Seafood is great and I just love that they have different deals for the time of day! What I ordered here was off the lunch menu 9.99 tostada Caribeño! Very good deal for the price it was so big and filling I couldn't finish it. My coworker ordered the 3 tacos deal which also came with rice and beans! Also said it was good. Inconsistent. The first time I ordered the nachos con jalapeño, it was packed with nachos and as I ordered extra guacamole, there was extra. An entire scoop extra. The second time I ordered it, it looked like they forgot to make the order and then slapped it together. This time there was only a small blob of guacamole instead of the two scoops. Be careful when going here. The waitress tried to rip us off. We had been going here for months with no problem before. My wife and I have been enjoying the Mexican and Seafood regularly, 2x a week! It's that good! What can we recommend: Rice & Beans are some of the best. Their Guacamole is excellent, the Enchiladas- Ground Beef, Shredded Beef and the Chicken ones are all delicious. The Carnitas plate and the Machaca plate are delicious too. The Grilled Fish and Fried Fish tacos are outstanding, 7 Mares Soup is very (spicy) good! The Ice Tea is so good, never-ever is it weak. Been here for breakfast several times, eggs, hashbrowns, are good, a little oily, but good. Unfortunately, they now only serve you 1 piece of toast with breakfast and did not get toast for 5+ minutes after receiving out eggs and hashbrowns. Bacon is burnt most of the time. We usually love going to our favorite place "MiNidito" but it was so packed we couldn't wait for the hour wait time so I suggested we try Taco Giro on Grande close to the house and I'll bet we'll get seated right away. Long story short wife wasn't to happy with her meal "Chicken fajitas" I said to her why what's wrong with it she said they made it using the Chinese beef and broccoli sauce I no way this is Mexican restaurant I tried and sure enough it was in fact the sauce. So not only did my wife fajitas sucked so did our service no one approached us to ask us how was everything nor did they refilled our drinks ice tea and a coke. Lousy service and I won't mention their menu which has 10 pages of seafood and regular meals along with mixed drinks in between pages. So bad, from the service to the food to the sickly sweet cocktails, don't waste your money

The menu is extensive to the point of ridiculousness, but so far everything I've had there had been good. The cocteles de mariscos are huge and different (I'd never had abalone before). The enchiladas, beans and rice, are standard fare but tasty and satisfying. The house michelada is a masterpiece with a celery stick and tajin rim in a chilled glass, and that's only their base model michelada. The atmosphere is a little dinky and service can be slow when they're busy, so just know what you're getting into. read more
