Great Vegan Food... Disgusting Mexican Food!!! This place's meat is horrible. The COD had a weird juice coming from it and tasted expired. The Shrimp was borderline cold. The brisket was dry and not seasoned. The interior smells like a family locker room at a pool in the summer time... and the booths are dirty and tearing apart. The free chips and salsa, the rice & beans, and the craft sodas are the reason why I gave this place 3 stars. Come to this place for a drink and some snacks... don't come for a good taco. Everyone there was very friendly. The menu is not overwhelming but has plenty of great options. The have a long list of vegan and vegetarian options, tacos and tostados. The also offer daily drink specials and $3 mimosas on the weekends. Best thing for me, they had Revolver Blood and Honey on tap, which is a WIN. Service was fast and friendly, they bring everything to your table, aside from fountain drinks. Food came out very fast, very hot and just how we ordered them. The chips and salsa was very good, love the roasted salsa, maybe just a drop more salt on the chips. The decor of the location is very inviting and they have just enough TV's to enjoy family time, but not distract you. Now to the Tacos, amazing, I had the Rico Ocho and Ranchero tacos, even the beans and rice were very tasteful. They even have Breakfast and Brunch!! We will definitely be back!!! Stopped by Taco Ocho for a quick pickup order that I placed online through their website. I was a little hesitant at first because I was in a hurry and there were some recent comments saying the service was slow. Happy to say, that was not the case today though! They had my food ready when I got there about 10 minutes after I ordered it and it tastes great. This review is long overdue. I found Taco Ocho during a vegan phase and have been going back ever since. Their salsas are so good; they have three different types. They have five or six tacos that all can be made vegan; they are all incredible. Their black beans are so good! Their non vegan menu is also delicious; I've had most of their items. This place is unassuming and so delicious. First, the queso....my favorite part of any Tex Mex restaurant. It is SO good. The chips are fresh and the queso is served in a large bowl (generous for the price), light yellow in color with just enough chunkiness but primarily creamy and thin, but not so thin to fall off of your chip. Didnt get hard the whole 30 or so minutes that we were eating. Get it! They'll give you some salsa complimentary, but beware it's a bit spicy. Oh and the tacos..they were awesome too! You can order a la carte or get a meal with rice and beans. The brisket taco was full of extremely tender brisket with just the right amount of toppings. The steak taco was also great (my husband thought it was even better than the brisket!). We will definitely be back. Wow our first time here today, and I think this is our new favorite Mexican spot! Ordered (3) tostadas (Americana, Caribbean, Aztecs) all were fantastic! I didn't realize the ones I ordered were Vegan, we ordered quickly cause we were hungry, but wow they still didn't disappoint. Ingredients are so fresh and everything had flavor! Hubby got the nachos, brisket was bomb, chips light and crispy, good size portions all around. Our 2 year old enjoyed his chicken taco, kid friendly spot. They also give you free drinks refills AND gave us a drink to go. My kind of place. Our waitress Ava was super attentive and friendly. I really like when restaurants post gluten free options (I can't eat gluten), vegan (I'm not), etc. We haven't ordered from Taco Ocho in maybe the last six months because my kids don't like it. They were gone so my wife and I ordered take out. Easy online ordering. I have attached a pic of our order. We ordered all 5 tacos on corn plus one vegan taco that sounded healthy. All but one taco, the chicken one, were on flour tortillas. I attached another pic that was labeled Rico Ocho taco which, if on corn, is both gluten free and vegan. Notice it is on a flour tortilla and is not the Rico Ocho. Looks like it is a Beef Colorado. We actually received two Beef Colorados and no Rico Ocho. This place sucks. read more

Came back here after a bad experience and they totally knocked it out of the park the second time around. They replaced the fish tacos that were cold the first time with a comp. She was helpful but seemed to be indifferent about serving people. The food took longer than I would have expected as well. The Food: (5 stars) Great eats! I order a Two Taco Plate (Beef Colorado and Brisket) as well as Queso for the chips. The entire meal was fantastic though the rice itself had a subtle taste but was not bland. We also had Chicken Fajita taco and Chicken Fajita Quesadilla. I tried both and were equally tasty. The unique sodas were a hit with the kits as well. The salsa was on point and a huge success in my book. Atmosphere: (4 stars) The restaurant was small be cleverly decorated and comfortable. The Price: $$ (3 stars) Our total for 3 plates and additional queso was ~$45 which averages to $15 a person. Whenever I am craving vege tacos, this is my go-to place. My favorites are pura vida and Tierra madre. Pura vida has plantains, black beans and spinach while Tierra madre has potatoes, kale and sweet corn. They are both different and flavorful. I had to ask for a side of hot green salsa because these tacos are not spicy at all. While the flavor of the pura vida is great (the plantains were sweet), it was oddly served cold. Other than this minor issue, I really like both these tacos. I have also ordered their queso to go and my family devoured it. It is white cheese and very good flavor. They have great margaritas and during happy hour, top shelf drinks are discounted. Service is very good at the bar. read more

I was on the hunt for some vegan tacos when I found this place, and whew I was really impressed by the vegan options here! My favorite taco, by far, was the pura vida. The creamy guac and tangy veggies really balanced each other out for a perfect finish, and I left wishing I had ordered a couple more to-go. The patio was cute and quiet - perfect for a solo dinner on my way home, and the server was quick and friendly. The one critique I have is that I wish there were more 'meaty' vegan options like stuffed mushrooms or chickpeas available during the afternoon/ evening to add to these tacos as it'd make for a more filling meal.
