Between my visit a few weeks ago and my finally getting around to posting this review, this location of Tacos 4 Life has closed. Bummer. The employees were so nice to me. There is so much seating and the seating felt plenty spaced out/not cramped. I ordered one of the juice/soda items that I rarely splurge for unless I'm at a place like Tacos 4 Life. Arrived afyer 1:30 pm on a Thursday for a late lunch so the large dining area was almost empty. Another couple came to dibe in while we ate. Lady taking orders was very friendly. We ordered 1 of the limited time offers, Firecracker shrimp, along with 5 other standards on the menu. The tacos that had sauce dressed as usual were too drippy; luckily one of my kids asked for poblano sauce on the side on the tofu taco. Korean BBQ steak taco flavor was not what we expected from our experience with K-BBQ. Other kid said chicken bacon ranch taco was also not what was expected. Eggplant taco was good but eggplant flavor dominated. I'll try other tacos if I'm in the area. read more

Ordering a Baja fish taco $5.29 and a half order of nachos without meat 6.89 . The taco was tasty and the fish crunchy. I had high hopes for Tacos 4 Life but am unsure of if I will return. The taco combinations were something I could easily create on my own, they didn't offer any unique flavors. Went to a new location of on Manchester for a late lunch today. Super cute deco, friendly staff, same great food. I did the "Dine and Dip" option, where you get two tacos and a side of "dip" (salsa, queso, or guac). For my tacos I chose the Korean BBQ and Mango Habanero. The habanero was definitely spicy, but good. My favorite of the two was the Korean BBQ. (Forgot to take a pic before eating ‍). Bonus of eating at Tacos 4 Life, proceeds go to helping projects around the world to feed the hungry. A mission worth supporting! I would give them a 3.5 if we could give half stars. I love Mexican food and was looking forward to trying Tacos 4 Life. I went there to have lunch with a friend. It's a fast casual place. You order at a counter and they bring the food to your table. The tacos are normal sized - not street tacos. They have a thing where you can get two tacos and chips with a dip (queso, salsa, or guacamole) for $9.99. It was plenty of food for me. The place is big with lots of seating and bright colors. The employees I interacted with were all okay, but not friendly necessarily. The guy in the dining room kept it cleaned up. The food tasted fine but nothing special. The tacos had quite a bit of lettuce and not a lot of meat. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but I won't avoid it either. read more

Tacos 4 Life did their soft opening over the weekend & we had a wonderful experience. We arrived during our designated window & joined the short line to order our food. We had a limited menu - as it was a soft opening - but we were ready to try the tacos either way! The staff was very nice & helpful with our questions. I ordered the Mango Habanero Chicken Taco, Blackened Mahi Mahi Taco & Black Beans. My husband ordered the Blackened Mahi Mahi Taco, Fried Chicken Taco & Queso Rice. We were both incredibly happy with the taco portion size, filled with plenty of each protein & other flavors that popped nicely. I enjoyed both tacos, but the Mango Habanero Chicken Taco really stood out. Great flavor, subtle sweet heat & the chicken was pulled famously. My husband was really thrilled with the Fried Chicken Taco - he said he would 100% come back just to have this one again. The restaurant itself is vibrant with colors, spacious & very clean. My 1st time at this place and my wife has been here before. Thought it was great! Freshly prepared tacos for me with a salad & Firecracker Shrimp taco for my wife. The 3 tacos I had were: Spicy Chorizo, Chicken Bacon Ranch & Chicken Fajita. Also ordered a side of queso & chips. Each soft shell seemed freshly prepared, chock full of lettuce, tomato & guacamole in addition to the underlying chicken in each. Nicely seasoned as well, neither too hot nor not spicy enough, I thought they were just right!. And 3 tacos were plenty for this grown man for lunch! My wife's salad also looked freshly prepared as was her shrimp taco, no complaints. I think this place will do well. Not high priced, food is delicious and comes out quickly. I would place this establishment slightly above taco bell. I had high hopes ~ it seemed really good, they had a lot of options on their menu but i was a little disappointed in the pineapple shrimp taco and the tofu taco i tried. The shrimp part of the shrimp taco was good but i was surprised by how stuffed these tacos were. They also seemed to use chunks of pineapple straight out of the can so it was kind of a strange texture/temperature with the warm shrimp, cold lettuce, and room temperature pineapple. The pineapples were also incredibly juicy so my taco was dripping which kind of made it soggy and not great. The tofu one was better but they created some sort of "ground seasoned tofu" that looked similar to ground beef, it was fine, just okay though, a little weird maybe. I dont think i'd order it again. The service was fine, they were friendly and efficient enough, they gave my friend the wrong side by mistake but when she went to tell them they let her keep the additional corn side she got by mistake so that was kind of them. The ambiance is ur typical fast casual place, they seemed to have a "travel" and "stewardship" aesthetic which is kind of cool. They donate a portion of their profits to help give meals to children in other countries so ur "giving back" by choosing tacos 4 life. It was our first time here. Tacos4life in Ballwin just opened last Tuesday. You can get a free taco when you download their app and sign up for reward program. The restaurant was clean and spacious. Service was friendly. We both got the Dip&Dine $12.99 which including 3 tacos and 1 dip, and a kid meal - chicken and queso rice bowl with a drink. For dip, I loved Guac a lot more than Salsa. For taco, I really liked firecracker Shrimp (spicy), blackened Mahi mahi, crispy eggplant, and Hawaiian shrimp. When you order shrimp, you can choose grilled or fried shrimp. I ordered both to try and imo grilled shrimp is much better.The Korean BBQ taco tasted good, but the beef was chewy and dried. I didn't like mango habanero taco as much as I thought. My 2 tacos were soggy on the bottom and sitting in some kind of liquid on the tray. My daughter's beans were so dry. You could pick up the whole portion of beans by poking it with your fork. Her rice was also just as dry. The 3 times we have been here all have been horrible! We will never come back. Not only because of the food being nasty, the customer service is nasty as well. It's like we are putting them out to be there. Sadly the employee taking our order is a member of management. There will be some growing pains, I'm sure but it's a good start. I know this is not the first location but I'm sure it's a first for quite a bit of the employees. The food itself is really good, the ordering is a little hectic and discombobulated, but all in all a good experience. The only two things I can't complain about is that the food came out in batches, one tray, then another. I get it, the are cranking out the food as quickly as possible and want to get it out as quickly as possible. And the employees did not know which food was what. So we had to decipher that for ourselves by taking them apart. Not a big deal but a little bit of a heads up on what is what would be helpful. I decided to try Tacos 4 Life on a recommendation. I stopped in during a week day for dinner, and upon arriving and seeing the store front and signage, I was rather excited by the bright neon presentation. Upon entering the restaurant and walking to the counter, it took around 5 minutes to be greeted and have my order taken. I ordered cheese and bean burritos, and the spicy chorizo tacos, and was given a placard to take to a seat of choosing, the staff brought my meal to my table shortly thereafter. The bean and cheese burritos were rather unseasoned, the taco sauce being offered really helped kick up the flavor, the dip offered with the chips that come with the bean burritos had a nicely seasoned bean and cheese combo that was slightly cumin forward. The chorizo tacos were stuffed with ground meat, street corn, and topped with deep fried jalapeños, the fried jalapeño was crunchy, the street corn crumbly and soft, the flours had the flavor and texture of your average grocery store tortillas, the ground meat was cumin and paprika forward with a hint of garlic, a little more chili seasoning than typical American tacos, which helped elevate the otherwise average ground meat experience. Overall I'd compare the experience to del taco wrapped in a shiny hi-point style theme. Nothing amazing here, but if you're looking for a different offering of American tacos than taco bell it gets the job done. read more

I've been a regular customer of Tacos for Life since they opened last summer--but after what happened on May 27, I'll never go back, and others should be aware. I called around 7 PM to place a simple carryout order. The first call went to voicemail. On my second attempt, I politely said, "I'd like to place a carryout order," and was immediately placed on hold. After a short wait, the line disconnected. I called again--what happened next was shocking. A manager answered the phone and immediately began yelling, accusing me of harassing them, claiming an employee was in the bathroom crying, and threatening to call the police. I was stunned. I never even got a chance to place an order--I hadn't said anything beyond "I'd like to place a carryout order." I tried to explain they had the wrong person, but she refused to listen, kept shouting, and hung up. Then she even called me back just to confirm my number, still insisting I was harassing them. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially from someone in a leadership role. I've worked in customer service for over 30 years--this was not just unprofessional, it was dangerous and uncalled for. If this is how they treat loyal customers, imagine what they'd do in a real crisis. Cannot recommend this new spot enough! Just tried it for the first time tonight with my family and this is gonna be a regular spot for us for sure! The food was incredible, and the street corn was legitimately the best corn I have ever had. The paradise punch was delicious, if you like punch that tastes like actual fruit and not like sugary artificial fruit flavoring, definitely give this a shot. The atmosphere was impressive, the decorations in the inside were phenomenal! Hmmm Im not sure how to feel about this one. Well first off I was sick so that could've been a driving factor for my trip. But I would say the food here is not quality. I had a second opinion with me as well. So the place looked pretty nice and the service was decent. It's a screen menu, but not everything on the menu is on the screen! They had these extra screens behind the register that I didn't even see because it was a few steps away from the main menu, it was a confusing ordering process too. We got chicken fajitas burrito and fried chicken burrito and chips with queso. For a place that just opened, it was pretty dirty and old looking. I wish they had done a remodel cause there was decades of grime on the seats and ledges. The lady at the cashier was nice though. Our food didn't take too long and the chips and queso were really good. The burrito wasn't what I was expecting. It was sweet for some reason, the sauce wasn't even subpar, and worst of all, the rice wasn't cooked in either burrito, it was hard to chew, and some were even crunchy. It was hard for me to finish which was disappointing. The soda was my favorite part if the meal. It's sad for such a good cause to have bad food. Also the taco prices are INSANE. The nacho fries looked real good so I want to give those a try, but anything with the rice or whatever gave it the sweet taste is a NO from me. read more
