Excellent, authentic, off the beaten path restaurant. I was seeking a local place for breakfast, and Tacos Chihuahua showed up in my search. The cozy restaurant has a nice, simple decor. The menu is easy to read, and offers plenty of options. I chose the huevos rancheros plate, and asked for the eggs over medium well. The plate is served with 2 eggs, rice, beans and salsa with melted cheese. It comes with choice of corn or flour tortilla, and as neither are prepared in house, I opted for the flour tortillas. They provide chips and salsa while you wait for your order. The dining room is clean. The restroom is available by walking through the kitchen. The small kitchen, although filled with back-stock and pans, is very clean. The food was fantastic! The eggs were cooked perfectly, the beans and rice were delicious, and the tortillas were what you'd expect from store bought. The restaurant easily deserves a 4 star with 1 more for the exceptionally friendly staff of two. The meal was $8.99. A little over $13.00 with tax and drink. They are COVID conscious with signs reminding patrons of the current mask mandates. They have inside and outside dining, as well as takeout and delivery through third party services. Overall I think it was a good value, and if you happen to be in the Norwalk area you should stop by.

Ay Chihuahua! I was driving in the area with my hubby looking for a good Mexican restaurant. And we came across this place. It wasn't easy to figure out their menu. There's different menus spread apart throughout the front counter and wall. We ordered a menudo (with hominy, tripe, pig's feet & tortillas), a chicken burrito (with rice & cheese) and a cabeza taco. The menudo was blah and not worth $10. I like that it wasn't oily. But, it lacked flavor. Instead of pig's feet, I got part of a hoove and it didn't taste good. The menudo had too much tripe and not enough hominy. The corn tortillas are store bought Diana's brand and they broke apart easily & lacked flavor. The cabeza taco was also blah. It is served with plenty of cabeza meat. But, the cabeza lacked seasoning and plenty of pieces were fatty. The chicken in the burrito was dry and didn't taste seasoned. They were frugal with the cheese in the burrito. Not worth the price either. The restaurant is located in a spacious strip mall with plenty of parking. We enjoyed sitting down to eat by the mall's quaint water fountain bench area. We just had to watch out for the lingering seagulls and the cigarette butts. Ay Chihuahua!!!

I love the tacos and sopes at this location. I usually order the al pastor tacos and carne asada sope. Taste very authentic Mexican food. They offer three different salsas.

A great little spot in Norwalk to satisfy your Mexican food cravings. It is located in the Norwalk Town square more towards the back. Parking is pretty easy to get. Now I was debating to give this place 3 or 4 stars because of the staff but the food is always good when we go so my review will be a 4. The food has always been great. I usually either get the carne asada tacos or carne asada quesadilla and the meat has always had a great taste. Is it the best meat I have had, no but it's definitely not bad and for it being so close to home I can't ask for me. Now the stuff on the other hand can get some training specifically the cashiers. Now there have been times that they are nice and friendly but I have encountered more rude cashiers then nice ones. The ones who are bad always just seem to not want it help and look like they do not want to be there. Simple questions or requests such as no beans double rice on a plate gets them irritated. They act like they are the ones who are actually cooking and serving the food. Now as I said there have been some that are super nice and friendly and make me happy to come spend my money here. Overall a great place to get Mexican food despite the sometimes bothered cashiers. They are lucky the food has always been good quality or this review would have been a 3.

    HAIR IN FOOD

Not the first time I've come here and gotten a hair in my food. The first time ever was 6 years back in high school and I had found a hair in the salsa of my wet burrito. 6 years later, after COVID they really cleaned up and renovated the place but the food quality did not change. I found a HUGE scraggly hair in my dish and asked for a refund. Apparently I can't get a refund on my horchata because there was no hair in that, but why would I want to keep anything for a restaurant that can hardly meet the bare minimum of keeping hair out of their food. Don't come here, I'd rather drive 30 miles to my favorite Mexican Restaurant in the Sherman Oaks than come here again.

This place is very affordable. That is also based on the location for its affordability. It's a small restaurant claiming to be the best of course. I can't say its the best, but I can say its good. We go 12 tacos for 10$ I believe. They come with onions and cilantro on the side. Meats are good. i think one of the best one is the Carnitas and Al Pastor. The carne asadae was a little dry. They also do catering. They are very good at they craft. Cleanliness can be better and more helpful if they were. Thanks for the meal!

For some reason, i decided to do a little taco crawl last week since I was interested in varieties of different tacos existed in menus of various restaurants. Tacos Chihuahua was very closed to my place and one of the reason I stopped by was to check out what kind of tacos they are serving. It was a small place with bench tables that looked like it belongs to Orange Julius. If you still remembered the Silver Dollar Savers Cinemas in that plaza, it's only down the plaza in a few block away. I remembered passing by this place so often, but never gave a bat of an eye about this place. Now that I understood tacos a bit, I decided to check out what types of tacos they would served. From the look of the menu, they have six different choices of meat for their tacos: cabeza, carnitas, al pastor, carne asada, and pollo. This seems to be case for the burritos also (minus cabeza and al pastor) as the choice for meat. I wanted to get Al Pastor, Cabeza (cow's head), and Carne Asada http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/lRJDCskmkt9ezfUSINMJEg/l . I didn't mind the cubed chopped meat of the Cabeza as it was very delicious. I thought it was going to be rough, but it was actually very chewable. The Asada was a bit soft with a dry taste, but it was wasn't all that bad. The Al Pastor (pork) was excellent. Getting a side of a large Horchata (rice) drink and a side of their chips with their own homemade guacamole sauce http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/6TA12g2VlspR7w6ZUs1srA/l completes the meal in grand fashion. The tacos were $1.50 each, which was not bad of a price and the portions of it was not bad of a size. It was much bigger than the bite size from Tacos San Pedro (another Yelp's favorite) and most of the Taco trucks I encountered. Decent place for a nice selections of tacos. Make sure you dine in to get the guacamole sauce with that chip. ------- Cash Only!

Tacos Chihuahua: located in Norwalk Town Square on Rosecrans and Pioneer...

The yelp* location for Tacos Chihuahua is way off... According to the yelp* map, this business is in some residential neighborhood on Norwalk Blvd. Nope!!! It's really in Norwalk Town Center, close to the movie theater. Norwalk Town Center sends out these nifty coupon books and Tacos Chihuahua has this great 10-taco and drink deal that we use up. You can pay with cash or card, the carne asada tacos are pretty good, the wait for the food isn't that long, and you have to ask for the chile guero. Even though this place is in Norwalk Town Center, the parking is a lot better on this business's side than the side that faces Pioneer Blvd.

Saltier than the Dead Sea. Came here for a quick bite and even though the prices are low it isn't worth the extra points on your blood pressure test. Better to spend a little more somewhere else and actually be able to taste the food.

This is my go to place for some good mexican food. I use to get their burrito, but now get their quesadilla Suiza. It is the same thing that put in a burrito, except the rice and beans are on the side and you get more cheese. I always get their carne asada and the texture is just right and the meat is juicy. You must come check this place out.

The two of the sweetest gentlemen who came and served our party. They were wonderful!
