Hermosillo has some of the best food *in the world*, and great options for mariscos, but Cayomango's menu is different than all others. Today I had the Tostada Wonton and it's a very original take on a seafood tostada. It was so good I ordered a second one. The tuna was fresh, the wonton tostada exactly the thickness you'd want, and the portions perfectly appropriate. It's a tad one the expensive side, but that doesn't take away from the rating in this case, as it's still worth every cent.

This is an in between place when I'm not in the mood for the small plates/ finer dining approach or in the mood for street food (tacos/burros etc.) For me it's usually a soup or soup and another item. This visit was a tastey cup of pozole and a chimichanga, which is the true 'deep fried burrito'. Many Chimichanga are way too big, this one was a more modest size. If you are in the northern hotel zone, it's maybe a 45 minute walk or a quick ride. There is an entry door on both Yanez(busy big street) and Pacheco, small street. Parking is on the Pacheco street side, and I forget which one way street go which way so careful going around the block. Near the landmark 'Templo Guadalupana Catholic church, known for the quickest Masses in town". Chile en Nogada , available probably in the fall, is a very traditional central Mexico dish not widely available in this part of the country. A foodie bucket list item.

What a truly amazing experience. The location is easy to find as it's off a main thoroughfare. The atmosphere is elegant but not stuffy, a modern touch with nice low lighting and well spaced tables. The service is outstanding, truly professional waiters. Juan Carlos was our waiter. He was attentive and offered great suggestions. Armando was another waiter who impressed me as he was ensuring every wineglass was spotless. Restaurants in Mexico offer a purse stand that is nice and classy for women to hang their purse.
