As a fresh food fan, a kosher taco place seemed a good place to try. After tasting the veggie taco dinner, I ordered a second dinner to take home. Very special place, people were very nice. As a kosher place that has meat, I was politely educated that my food was vegan, which i appreciated in both style and substance. Very nice vibe, honest, simple. First time tonight. We ate on bar stools, as I didn't want the food to get cold during the 20 minute drive home. The owners work the counter and the food! They answered every question that we asked. Prices were reasonable. We ordered tortilla soup, Chorizo bowl, chicken burrito, and guacamole & chips. Everything was delicious. The soup was mildly spicy and hot. The Chorizo bowl, served in a paper "box", also had rice & lettuce. Several salsas were available. I didn't try the burrito but my partner said it was excellent. Guacamole and chips were tasty. Portions were large. I had to push myself to finish the soup and the bowl. Will return soon to try new items. read more

My husband met the very feiendmt owner the other day while filling his car up with gas at the Shell station. The owner handed him a menu. We were intrigued, checked Yelp where the reviews are very good and today we went for Taco Tuesday! I had the 3 chicken breast tacos which were delicious. My husband had a carne asada burrito which was very good. The salsa verde was mild but tasty. The guacamole was great. We tried one of each dessert; the coco flan was amazing and the arroz con leche was very good. Small desserts, but just a nice sweet taste after dinner. There are four stools and a narrow counter that you can sit at, but they do takeout and delivery. Prices are a little high, but part of that is because it is kosher. We may end up here on another Tuesday for tacos! read more

Located a few blocks east of the highway on Dempster (next to a gas station), it's about time some kosher tacos came to the north shore. The food and salsas were really good. I ordered the chicken burrito and was pleasantly surprised. Since it's kosher, the price was a bit high (~$10 for the burrito) so the value is a bit tough. We live only 5 minutes away. It's located in the same building as the Shell gas station. This gas station is usually priced higher than neighboring ones so we never look there and would have totally missed out on a great little taco place if it wasn't for Yelp! It's a small place, more for take out although I did see a couple people eating at one of the bar stools. I ordered the Picadillo tacos and a Milanese taco for the kids. Then we had a picnic in the park across the street. The chicken was a little over cooked but the kids ended up eating all the Picadillo filling. We also got a choco flan. Yummm! You absolutely have to check out this place! Authentic Mexican food and it's even Kosher. I decided to try to the carne asada tacos as well as the barbacoa rice bowl. Absolutely delicious. I love the different salsas here....especially the chipotle salsa. So good. It's a great carry out option for us. He took the order and it was delivered to us on time. And the food was delicious! Because of our unusual delivery arrangement I forgot to make sure a tip was added and remembered only when the food was delivered and too late to put a tip on . So this is my tip. My wife and I had lunch here, and I have to say, the food is amazing! I had a chicken burrito (al Pastor), and my wife had the bowl (breast). The portions were HUGE. My burrito was easily as big as a football, and my wife had a box stuffed to the brim with rice, beans, lettuce, grilled onions and chicken breast. It was under $25 for lunch (which is a fantastic price for kosher for these portions). The only thing I did not like is they use brown rice for the mexican rice, instead of white rice, so the flavor was not 100% what I was expecting, however the food was excellent. My burrito had great flavors from the salsa (mild) with grilled pineapple and cilantro, giving it a great fresh and sweet taste with just a hint of spice. My wife is not generally a fan of Mexican food, but she enjoyed her meal, and had a lot leftover. I would absolutely eat here again and recommend! read more

I am going to give TG 5 stars despite the "catch" because they deserve it. They are affordable, delicious, and friendly. We take out from them every 1 or 2 weeks. The only "catch" I have is that we have had at least 4 or so occurrences in which an order was either taken down incorrectly, or was delivered incorrectly. First time visitor. So happy to finally have a kosher mexican spot in midwest. 5 stars for making that happen. Friendly service, clean atmosphere. The meats, salsas, beans were all good. We got carne asada and barbacoa. Next time I would try chicken or veggie and save a $3-$5 per burrito, but the price was fair for kosher beef and the portions were large. Things to improve are table seating, softer lighting, a salsa bar not just pre made cups, also I'd like to see what they are making me as I order. read more
