Near the end of the Ensenada Port, walk through the last arched opening to the Mercado Negro and walk straight to reach Tacos Lucero.

On our first visit to Ensenada (via cruise ship) I didn't find much to make me want to get off the ship. I did some prep work for this trip and found several food spots I wanted to check out. Tacos Lucero was definitely worth a visit. Family owned by some very nice people. I was there around 10 am for my breakfast fish taco. She included a small basket of fried chips with several different salsas to dip them in. The fish taco was presented on a corn tortilla and all the fixings were at the table. As we said in Miss Salazar's Spanish class, "muy bueno". All that and a Mexican bottle of Coke for only $4.00. To find your way, walk from the cruise ship pier nearly to the end of the Ensenada Port. Walk through the last arched opening to the Mercado Negro. Continue walking past all the fish merchants and you will see Tacos Lucero on your right.

Fresh seafood, killer shrimp tacos, and ceviche that actually tastes like the ocean in a good way. Service is fast and genuinely friendly. Easily one of the best spots for seafood tacos around.

The fish and shrimp tacos here are incredibly delicious, and the beer is both affordable and ice-cold. This cozy open-air restaurant is small but exceptionally clean and comfortable--definitely a step up from eating on a street corner. Plus, the service is outstanding! My family has been coming here for the past 10 cruises during our cruise trips , and my daughter absolutely loves the shrimp tacos and the selection of spicy salsa s along with the freshest chips!! Great ambiance and a cool way to spend an hour or however long you want with locals........If you have time try the smoked tuna fillets in the fish Markey as well!

I watch a lot of foodies on YouTube and one of them is Bill and Lisa. I saw that they went to Ensenada just a few months before me and mentioned they were regulars of Tacos Lucero. After seeing their review, I knew that I had to check out Tacos Lucero. There is a few tables down below but don't fret, there is plenty of seating as they have tables and chairs on their second level! We ordered fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and tacos with Asada (steak). I love how they put your tacos together in the tortillas and let you put the toppings on yourself. The shrimp and tacos were perfectly battered, fried to a crisp, and not oily at all! Stuffed these bad boys with cabbage, some sort of creamy type of sauce, and pico de gallo.. All the flavors just meshed well together and they were roughly about $2 per taco. Hubby isn't a seafood lover but very well loved the Asada as it was tender and seasoned really well! We met the owner who was quite nice and she knows everyone has come here from word of mouth from Bill and Lisa. I'm glad she's getting the business as the food is delicious and affordable. Everyone is so nice and helpful here. We don't need the singers nor the partying but just some good Mexican food. Tacos Lucero does not disappoint. Check them out if you're ever in the area.

We discovered this restaurant last year while visiting Ensenada on a cruise ship. Their fish tacos are the best! We have been there every single time we've visited Ensenada (which is quite often). We've taken friends with us, as well as staff from the Navigator of the Seas. Everyone loves their food. It is a family-owned restaurant, and their service is fantastic. We went for a snack yesterday, and we sat upstairs for the first time. The view is great. They are located right by the fish market. It's about a 10 minute walk from where the cruise ships dock. Can't wait to go back!

Fried fish... Took a while to be cooked but that's just probably because they were doing it correctly.

Super friendly homemade vibe Woman who owns the place is cooking and she is glorious The food comes out fast and fresh very tasty has that authentic feel you're looking for while maintaining cleanliness I had the shrimp tacos + chicken+ steak. All covered in every ingredient I could find They had a large variety of hot sauces all with different flavors and intensities. I'm in Mexico every few months and I will definitely be coming here every trip I also had this fried fish. Which was totally not something I would normally order but it blew my mind. That mixed with a red Tecate and I was in heaven

SoThis was easily my favorite place to eat in Mexico during my time there. I love seafood in general, so this was right up my alley. We ordered the fried rockfish, fish tacos, and shrimp tacos. The rockfish was perfectly fried on the outside and still really soft and moist on the inside. The shrimp tasted like it was butterflied open before being battered and fried, and I couldn't get enough of it. When people say food is so soft and delicious that it melts in your mouth, this is the place they're taking about. The salsas were the perfect complement, depending on whether you wanted mild or spicy flavors. The side vegetables were fresh as well. The employees were really friendly and attentive. The noise level is fine. You're able to have a room level conversation with your group and it's still fine even though the place is next to a fish market and a general shopping center. I'm really glad I remembered this place. I wanted to write a review for here, but couldn't remember the place. I was lucky because I was going through my phone and saw I happened to take a picture of the restaurant's sign. This place deserves 10000000 stars. I definitely would have to come back here if I'm ever back in Ensenada again.

Food was delish. Loved the taco enchilado!!! We ordered like 4 of them. Beers. And the people were so kind. Delish salsas out on table. We will be back! Walked over from the cruise ship.

Best fried fish and shrimp tacos I've ever had. This was our first stop as we had heard so many good things about this place on YouTube. The service was great, very accommodating. The cook at the time her name is Chayo,, she served us our tacos and we put our own toppings from the table. So good! Will be coming back to Ensenada just for these tacos.

Really Good seafood. Highly recommend. And inexpensive. If your in Ensenada you have to try them out.

Very delicious seafood pre prepared to order. Great customer service.

Had such a great experience here at Tacos Lucero. Food was cooked to order and service was on point. We went to the fish market next door and picked what we wanted them yo cook for us. Awesome!

Pulpo taco with cheese. 85 pesos.

We had the shrimp tacos and pulpo tacos. Lots of choices of sauces and fixings. Near Mercado Negro. Great service!

I have to visit this place every time I go to Ensenada. The owner is super nice and with the little bit of Spanish I know and the little bit of English she knows, we communicate perfectly. We ordered the 2 fish tacos, 2 shrimp tacos, a Modelo and a humongous Corona. She ran out of Modelo, so she gave me the Corona instead. I'm not a big Corona fan, but it tastes different in Mexico. The fish tacos were fried to perfection. The batter was light and the fish was flakey and great tasting. The shrimps were fried in the same type of batter and plump and juicy. All tacos were served with no condiments because all the condiments are on the table. 5 different types of salsa with all different heat levels, sour cream, cabbage, regular and pickled onions and cilantro. The whole bill was $5 USD and some change, about $100 pesos. She does accept USD, but it seems we get a better deal with pesos all over Ensenada.

We got beef asada and fried fish pescado. I believe it was only $2.50 per taco so not the cheapest but definitely by far the most affordable and yummy in the touristy area. It's a perfect walkable distance from the cruise port. You can pay USD cash and it shows on their payment terminal the conversion. I don't know how to double check if the conversion was 100% accurate but just from a little google go the current conversion and counting out how many tacos we ordered, everything seemed to check out!! They have tables for you to sit at inside but open facing so you're covered from the sun/rain. It comes with 3 different salsas, bowl of limes, and my favorite part is the grilled jalapeño and green onions - omg so good! I'll definitely be coming back if I'm in town. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the Asada just needed more flavor and not as cooked. I prefer a juicy medium Asada but I know that that's not how it's always eaten, just wish there was more flavor. Coming from Arizona I fortunately get to eat a lot of amazing Mexican food!

But figured I needed a better way to eat it while visiting Ensenada again with my wife. So this time, went to the nearby sister restaurant, Sabina. It's named for the owner of the original food stand, and there are a lot of pictures of her with other celebrities who appreciated her talent in creating seafood combinations. The Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant is within walking distance from the cruise port, and is located in an area with a lot of other restaurants and shops. We came there soon after it opened around 10 am, and had the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. We showed that we were coming from California, by choosing indoor seating. We were given colorful menus and suggestions. We also got complementary chips and salsa, with 4 different varieties of her famous salsas being served. I tried all four of them, and two of them were way too hot, even in moderation. I did really like the green salsa, which tasted more like a simple guacamole. It also came with thinly slices of lime...each small slice producing so much more juice than any lime we get in California. My wife doesn't like raw seafood, so chose garlic shrimp (Caramones al Mojo de Ajo for Mex$405). There were plenty of jumbo headless, shell-on white shrimp, with the butter sauce being very light and not too garlicky. It came with a very good rice pilaf and sauteed vegetables (mostly squash which neither of us are a fan of). I went with 3 choices from the 5 selection 'Champion' list: 1. Erizo con Almeja (Sea Urchin with Clam for Mex$230) - winner of LA Street Food Fest 2011 for Best Original Showmanship 2. Caracol con Lajas de Caracol (Mixed Ceviche with Sea Snail for Mex$209) - winner of LA Street Food Fest 2012 for Best in Show 3. Singapur (Mex$209) - winner of LA Street Food Fest 2013 for unknown category). All three were piled high with fresh seafood, embellished with perfectly ripe avocado slices. None of them needed additional salsa, but adding a squeeze of lime enhanced. My favorite was the Singapore and would try the other two tostadas on the winners list the next time. The best way would be to order all the tostadas and split amongst a group of 4 or 5 friends (there are 6 other special tostadas and you can also create your own with the fresh seafood ingredients). Got two bottles of water (Mex$75 each...not cheap) and a local beer (Vera Niega Mexican Ale, a bottle being Mex$110) that was excellent. Service was attentive and friendly throughout, with multiple servers (Horacio and Antonio) attending to us, all trying to make sure we had a good time. Credit cards are accepted, using a modern tableside POS, and I was happy to pay a gratuity over what is customary. Bathrooms are modern, with individual stalls (most of them gender neutral) all sharing a nice common set of sinks. My wife and I left in fine spirits and it was beginning to fill up more as we left (all dining al fresco, of course). Dining at the nearby original food cart is worth the initial experience, but there is something to having food this good in a sit-down restaurant. Sabina is that place.

This is a spot that you can sit down and drink a beer and get the same amazing seafood. My favorites were the sea urchin tostada as well as the bluefin tostada with fried leaks on top of it. A bonus is that they give you salsa and chips with four different types of salsas. We also grabbed a couple of beers in margaritas which were amazing as well. This is a great spot for a well-known sit down restaurant for seafood tostadas.
