I get my hair done here and it always turns out good. I'm going back and getting my hair trimmed sometime soon. But, yeah. She gave me my bangs and they were actually really good. But the day I got them, she was also cutting my hair and told her to the start of my neck and she did it slightly below my ear. But it was ok, I lived (clearly bc I'm making the review). Went to Fort Lee for two weeks of training and needed a haircut. A quick Yelp search revealed that Tae's was nearby. She takes appointments but accepts walk ins. A one woman operation, the shop was small and tidy. My buddy and I took our turns on the chair and quickly got our hair cut. Tae is very friendly and professional. Tae's is the best barber in town. I went in to her today with a three week old bad haircut and not only did she fix it but she spent some time talking to me about where I want my hair to be in a couple of months. She consulted and cut my hair to look good today and grow out evenly to achieve my goal. Her small shop is clean and there is rarely a line. Even at lunch time there was only one person ahead of me. Way better than the places on post where I am often 5 or 10 people back in line. Tae has been here for a long time and knows the military community. I messed up and went here twice. First time was mediocre. Got a high fade, but the lady didn't taper the fade. Second time, different lady; totally messed up the back of my hair. She left my hair uneven, and ragged in the back. As others have said; this place does NOT sanitize their equipment between clients. Overall this place is not recommended. read more

My low skin fade isn't blended well and I guess "don't take any off the top except to touch it up if you need to," sounded like, "go ahead and take 2 inches off and completely reshape/style it as you see fit." Also, she is great at giving military haircuts. Tae is a professional barber that has been cutting hair for more than 15 years and will cut your hair according to the specifications you give her. I mention this because I am very particular in my haircuts. She normally works from Tuesday to Saturday. Also, she accommodates anyone if you show up near closing time. Tae cares more in giving her customers a quality haircut versus some of the other barbershops in the area. read more

I got here ten before 6 hoping to squeeze in before what I thought was their closing time. With only one car in the lot, I walked up to the door hoping I could get a cut. BAM! They close at 5:30. I walked to my car and started looking on my phone for a backup. As I was doing so, the lady walls to my car and asks if I need a cut. Awesome! I go in, ask for the taper/fade and a blend to the too, keeping it longer up there. You would think this would be an easy cut but good luck getting it done right on post or at great clips. Overall she did an excellent job. The place is barebones: the front of a house and a one chair operation. It was $10 for military, and I left a 5 for staying open. I'll definitely make it back. read more

Just a visitor and visited here. Tae owns the shop and she is great. Honestly, I had my doubts and thought I would get a haircut similar to one you would get at the PX on Fort Lee (bad fade, if you know you know). However, she really did a good job and I'm picky about my hair so don't take this review with a grain of salt. At the end, I wanted the fade a bit higher and the sides shorter to a skin (you don't face the mirror during the cut which is a bit of a thrill haha...) and she did it without rushing it or doing a lackadaisical job. She did say there are other workers sometimes but I only can recommend her at this point. I'm not sure what the bad reviews here are based on, but definitely give it a try. Thanks Tae! read more

I've been here a few times and always get haircuts of varying quality. The biggest difference is that there are two ladies that cut hair here - rarely at the same time (prompting another set of issues); one does a pretty good job, the other always seems to mess up my hair. I am not that picky, but expect to get what I pay for and a fairly consistent haircut from visit to visit. One of the ladies in particular (works Monday, Sunday) is deeply committed to providing a quality haircut, despite the time of day and despite the number of people in line. I've sat in her chair for almost an hour before, which is beyond excessive for the amount of hair I have. It can be overwhelming, but the effort is appreciated. Sadly, of the times she has cut my hair (4 times), three have been below par. She puts her own interpretation on what she thinks your hair should look like, which is not what I care for. I am to the point that if I drive by and see that she's working, I continue on down country drive (she works in the first chair on the left - I can see through the window if she's there). She is a fantastic lady, but I can't give her credit for quality haircuts. Lastly, with such a high demand because of Tae's proximity to Fort Lee, there are often unbearable lines inside for the one hairdresser. I've waited for 2 hours before with only 3 people in front of me. Ridiculous. In summary, if you want to go to a place with friendly hairdressers who care about your hair, but do not mind inconsistent work, this would be the best place in the area to visit. This is probably the best barber shop that I have been to around fort Lee. Very professional. Knows how to cut a flat top which is very hard to find these days. Does a really good razor fade. Excellent service, didn't have to wait long and I was second in line when I walked in. Would definitely recommend to anyone. read more

Took my husband there for the first time for a shave because his regular barber was closed. No waiting and she did an job. Cheaper than his regular barber also. Operating hours are wonderful.
