Good food and good service and good ambiance and the price is good too good to go for family and friends

It has been since around 2017 since I dined here. Back then the meal served was not very good and I could not endure it. So what happened in the intervening years? See the previous reviews about poor service. That has changed! Two ladies worked the floor as a team and did quite well and were also very nice. Now for the foods... 1-Curry fried rice: It has barely any curry flavor at all. Put in some spice to kick it up please! The chicken was tender and the amount in this dish is adequate. B- 2-Fried shrimp: Perfectly battered. Shrimp was largish inside too. No real tail means you get a full meal deal with these! A+ 3-Mar Far Chicken: I like to call them Chinese chicken nuggets. Alas, there was no orange sauce on the side or on the chicken. Nothing special but not dreadful. C 4-BBQ Pork: I have had better and I have had worse. C 5-Shrimp egg rolls: Where's the shrimp? Where's the flavor? With no high quality soy sauces to add some flavor, these were not so hot. C- 6-Tea: They serve oolong tea, which is my fave! A Price for 2 meals and appetizers: $77. PF Chang's would clean this place's clock and charge no more but we do not have that option in CB-NB. 4 stars might be a bit generous but at least this place is better than Lucky Star when it comes to food. My friend ordered Kung Pao Chicken and cleaned his plate so add that into the mix. We will go back and now that we know Tai's Dynasty's strong and weak points, odds are it will be a satisfactory meal. read more

Called to ask if they were hiring just so I wouldn't have to waste my time going down there. the person on the other end of the end said "You're calling to ask that?" in a disapproving tone, then proceed to say "no" afterwards they hung up. The food is delicious, never very disappointed lemon chick n was gorgeous and lemon heavy. The ambiance some of the best around. The service is horrible. We had 45 minutes and they fed 2 groups of two ahead of us, They Came In After Us! They had dirty tea pots that tasted dusty or moldy. Asked for another pot after running clean napkin down tea pot neck, inside. Second pot same thing. After 30 minutes had to have boxes and left barely making it back to work at time. I like this spot. I have only had the takeout twice. It's a really 1970's style Americanized Chinese restaurant. The style you found in every city in the USA back in the day. A real trip back in time. That might not fall in line with current food trends nationally.. but, the food is fresh, prepared correctly and is pretty tasty. Prices are very good and for $15-$17.. you can easily walk away with multiple meals worth of food. The overall decor of the restaurant was pretty cool and the staff is very friendly and there was even a room where you could go play some slot machines in the back for while you wait.. Ordered takeout lunch today. Lady not asian with dark cat eye glasses took my receipt, made a point to look at it with disgust and throw it down, slammed the pen against the wall and stormed away. My guess is i didnt tip. Well excuse me, i don't tip for food i go get. If i dined in with table service i consistently give 20+%. I wonder if she tips at Mcdonalds drive thru, Burger King, taco bell? Bet not. The food is consistently good. This waitress i would fire if i ran the business. Here is a business hint. Walked in and saw the awards on the wall and heard the Cantonese in the kitchen and knew this was going to be a delicious visit. We ordered the beef and broccoli lunch special which came with fried rice and cream cheese wontons. I have never had a lunch special in my entire life come with cream cheese wontons and it was a beautiful surprise when I opened the lunchbox container. The sweet and sour sauce is also pretty good too. The beef and broccoli and fried rice had great wok hei to it and we devoured it. Big portions too. For those looking for veggie options, they use white sauce! I ordered the snow pea pods stir fry which was light and everything I wanted in a healthy meal. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. Plenty of parking and part of the parking lot faces toward the ocean. read more

We ordered General Tso chicken for pick up, while it was $4 more than the menu photos on yelp it didn't bother me at all because the portion was HUGE!! The amount of food seemed like it was a family sized order. The sauce was delicious and there was a perfect amount of breading. A generous helping of rice came with it. read more

Friendly service it's nice to be greeted by name! I ordered take out, the Wonton soup it is amazing the veggies are so fresh and the broth is delicious. The soup includes a mix of shrimp, chicken, pork dumplings and BBQ pork. I have made several meals out of it. A good deal for me. read more

In all the years we have been supporting this business we have never experienced rude service as we did this evening. We have been ordering the same thing for over 13 years, so questioned the additional charge or $6 instead of the normal $2. Yes prices have increased all over. I would have expected a little increase. But inquired for an explanation as why the difference as the difference in entrees of chicken was two dollars. The response was so rude and told me I was wrong as it has never been a $2 dollar additional for this meal only for this one as if I don't know what I have ordered for the last 13 years. Could have been handled a lot differently. It will be awhile that we support again if at all due to the rude service. Food was not as good as normal either. Very disappointed that's how you treat customers. read more

Service was mediocre at best , staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. Food was uninspired. Stopped on our way to Seattle only place around seemed busy but can't say why. Since we were the only brown people in the restaurant I guess they weren't really welcomed. Ordered the war wonton soup was huge enough to feed a family of 6. All other dishes were only for 2. Sweet and sour shrimp was fried coated shrimp with the sauce on the side ( weird). Would not recommend. read more

This is the best Chinese food we've ever had! Wonderful, friendly, fast service! We always dine in, but got a to-go order for the first time. Everything was packaged PERFECTLY, with lots of accoutrements included. The war wonton soup is out of this world! Shrimp, pork, chicken, HUGE HOME MADE wonton dumplings, noodles, broccoli, carrots, zucchini, mushrooms, sesame seed. Really 2 meals in itself. They have the BEST crab puffs we've ever had. We were very pleasantly surprised by our first visit since moving here. We ordered potstickers, crab Rangoon, Mar Far chicken, Kung Pao chicken, egg drop soup and all was very tasty. The house made hot mustard sauce is also delicious, I didn't even have to ask for it and it's what I base a lot of my opinion on as well. Fast pick up service and delightfully surprised by the Mar Far chicken dish, very crunchy and the sauce on the side allows you to mix it your way. Will definitely come again and try more dishes. read more

We were on another of our road trips and Tai's Dynasty happened to be across the street from our motel. The rating wasn't too horrible, the comments from other yelpers weren't too scary and the location, location, location was perfect. Quite often, I read in reviews that a restaurant isn't serving authentic "insert nationality here" food but an Americanized version. I understand what the reviewer is saying but please keep in mind that we should be rating the quality of the food and service and necessarily the authenticity. For instance, if you go to Taco Bell, you're probably going to rate the Taco Bell based on your experience with other Taco Bells as opposed to the type of food that you might find in Mexico. Anyway, Tai's Dynasty food and service were actually pretty decent. We had four dishes: Wor Won Ton Noodle Soup - 3 - I don't remember seeing the noodles listed. I really just wanted won ton but once it arrived, it wasn't worth causing a ruckus. The won tons were fine but only had pork in them, no shrimp. That in itself isn't uncommon but cost them a star. Pot Stickers - 4 - Wow! They were FAT! Skins were not overly thick and the bottoms had a bit of char to give them texture. I prefer more veg in my pot stickers but I would have no problem ordering these again. Chicken & Vegetables in Yellow Curry - 4 - Curry could be thicker but flavor was good. Mar Far Chicken - 5 - This is a dish that I've only found in Oregon. Essentially, it is battered and deep fried boneless chicken served with a sauce. I've only had it once before and the sauce was premade and served on the side. Here, at Tai's, it was served in two squeeze bottles. You mix the two to your tastes. One tasted of yellow mustard, the other, more like a cocktail sauce, ketchup and horse radish. There might have been more to it but I'm writing this review a couple of months late so I don't remember. One thing I do remember was that the chicken was like crack. With sauce or plain, it was simply delicious! Tender, yet not greasy, I would definitely order this again. All in all, a pretty good restaurant that we would go to again. read more

Price is getting a but high but this has proven to be some quality American Chinese Cuisine. I have had some issues with attitude here but when it's as busy as it is I can understand. Hope the price comes down so we can enjoy this more often. read more

Paid 87.00 for 2 Mandarin dinners and 2 appetizers plus soup to go today. When it was brought home by a friend, had the appetizers and not enough dinner for one person ,more like a child.When called to complain it was stated the supervisor would call back in later afternoon. Thks was at 12:30. It is now 6:30 pm. The prices have gone up the dinner down. Can't really call it a dinner portion. Saw the one complaint. I too am encouraging others. J.T. read more
