It doesn't bother me that it's semi-dimmed and small. The food made up for it even though my back was to the main entrance door. Good parking spaces. There was a waitlist but we didn't wait for over 30 minutes. Best bang for your buck AYCE sushi at $29.99/person and their menu is THICK. Even for someone who is used to sushi, it was overwhelming at first. The tablet made it easier to order without feeling so needy to the already-so-busy servers. Cheaper at lunch time but menu has less options, mainly no sashimi and only ice-cream as desserts. My favorites are chicken karaage, kanpachi sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, salmon sashimi, Cajun albacore sashimi, spider roll, Starbucks roll, baked green mussels, and their mochi (I got strawberry and mango). I got a lot more but those are my favorite and highly recommend for you to try. Final destination sushi rolls are majority of the people's favorite, including my server's. Eel sashimi is on a grill, which was surprising and good. Wasabi was lacking the spice and I'm not a fan of pink ginger but it's an AYCE so not complaining. What I do suggest you to do is to stay away from hot cheesecake and ice cream tempura. Unfortunately, they most likely use the same batter batch with their meats/seafood and they fry it with their seafood/meat oil so all you taste is mainly seafood, which is quite disgusting when you want your desserts to be desserts. I love seafood but that was gross. I still ate the insides. Overall, a solid restaurant for AYCE sushi. The sushi was so good here! Especially the sashimi! I went for lunch but because it was a Good Friday, they said it was a holiday so they are doing dinner all day. I like that we can order from the iPad and don't have to flag down the staff to order things. I ordered something and they said they can't make it because they don't have avocado. I really enjoyed the food and the ambiance. The built in seating could use cushions as it was a bit uncomfortable however everything else made up for it. I loved the all-you-can-eat option for $29.99 per person it's a great value. It gave me the option to try many new to me option items on the menu. I just wish I had more time to try more items since we were in a bit of a time crunch. This place has been listed as one of the top spots in Katy, and I can definitely see why. The food was fresh and came out quickly. Portions are small, which is perfect for trying a variety of dishes. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. This place is a solid choice. We really enjoyed the sushi here. For an ayce place, they definitely delivered some delicious sashimi appetizers especially the salmon crudo. When ordering nigiri and rolls, be sure to ask for less rice b/c although the rice was cooked very well, the ratio of fish to rice was a little off. Service was okay, they did get hit with a big rush of customers after we sat down, so our server ended up forgetting a couple items. side note: idk if they can find a solution to this but the tablet that you order through is super bulky, heavy, and just took up a lot of space on an already small the table, which is kind of annoying for an ayce place. The only difference is this: You can order anything on the menu - as much as you want - and pay only $36 bucks per person! When you think about it, this price is about the same as 2 premium sushi rolls. Amazing. Let's be real: You're not going to get lobster or Uni for this price. Great sushi spot. Came here for lunch with my sister. I love that they give out 4 piece half rolls. At most AYCE places you get the full 8 piece rolls, but then can't try as much. My husband and I were really hungry so we were looking for an all you can eat sushi place where they had non-rice options. (I recently learned that I need to be on a low carb diet.) I highly suggest you order a few dishes at a time. The staff record your order according to your table and they bring it out to you as fast as they can. Usually a few minutes. If there is an expected longer time for a certain dish, it will tell you on the menu. The place is really busy so they might miss a dish or two. Unless you really want that dish , it's OK that it was missed. You'll thank yourself in the end. We struggled to finish because we didn't know the rolls we ordered were FULL size rolls instead of the typical half from other ayce sushi places. There were a lot of great options to try. Almost all of them were great! The sashimi wasn't as soft as I liked but it's been a while since I've had sashimi. The grilled mackerel was filleted very well. Only a few fish bones were in it. Despite the cramped seating, limited parking, and prices at the time (#1), I managed to come away loving the experience because the food was good and the service was beyond excellent. The latter is all the reason I plan on putting Taizzi Katy on my list of AYCE sushi go-tos. It's not much to look at. The interior is a bit on the smaller side and can probably comfortably fit 20 people. Whether it's the small'ish group tables in the front or the smaller 2 tops in the back, it can feel somewhat cramped. There are also seats by the bar, but given all the items I tend to order, the table is best. The menu is so rich with options that it's a fun adventure just choosing things from the menu. I appreciate that they've labeled each of their items based on whether it's raw, spicy, and even if it will take extra time. Coupled by the fact it's a picture menu, along with the "preferred cut" for sushi and sashimi of thin / medium / thick is unheard of to me. Even the rolls have a breakdown of the interior, exterior, and whether or not there is sauce on each one. I'm so impressed. There's been so many rolls (#2) that only a handful (#3) truly stand out. I loved the: :: Elvin (shrimp, tempura, crab, cucumber, topped with salmon, tuna) :: Final Destination (soft shell crab, spicy crab, asparagus, topped with tuna and salmon) :: SpamHolic (spam, eel sauce) :: Mistake (mixed fish with spicy mayo, eel sauce) :: SalmonAss (salmon, crabmeat, cream cheese, avocado, topped with salmon with spicy mayo, eel sauce) I was also a fan of my nigiri and thought my favorite pieces were the fatty salmon, yellowtail, salmon egg, and scallop. For all sashimi, I prefer the thick cut and love ordering a bunch at once. The fish isn't going to be mind blowing quality wise, but for an AYCE spot, it is definitely a big thumbs up. There's a lot to appreciate with their hot foods as well. I think their sushi towers are fun on the food porn front and the grilled collars (yellowtail, salmon) are fabulous. No one talks about their "monkey brains" or baked mussels enough, so I recommend it all for any one who wants something cooked. It's also important to note that soda is included with the AYCE deal. Service wise, they hit it out of the park. Our waitress was attentive, polite, and went out of her way to ensure they subbed right items for allergies at our table. She was also accommodating my party every step of the way. At the end she didn't hassle us to leave, but was so kind from start to finish. Went here to try their AYCE lunch special with some family. The food was good and price was okay. It is a small little restaurant on the corner of the plaza, intimate vibes with dim lighting. The AYCE lunch menu looks like a lot but they're pretty much the same ingredients remixed together so I thought that was boring and not creative. Granted, I know lunch has less items than dinner, but still was disappointed in that. I liked the shaggy dog roll a lot and their cucumber/seaweed salads were both really good. Namely, I'd recommend getting a healthy combination of sashimi, nigiri sushi, and some little items that catch your eye. Came for ayce and was overall impressed with the quality of fish and service. The salmon sashimi in particular was delightful, thick cut and fresh. I've also never seen eel sashimi served on a hot plate like that, and I think I prefer it this way because the eel was a lot more fragrant. Rolls were generous on toppings and not too much rice. The guy server was also very quick and knowledgable. One major complain however is that the sushi rice was too hard. We addressed this the server and was assured that the issue has been fixed, but the rice continued to be hard almost to the point of being undercooked during our entire meal, which took away from enjoying many of the rolls. read more

Compared to their Memorial location, the food here is equally as good. What they can't compete with though is the service at the Memorial location. I came here on the Indigenous People's Day holiday (FKA Columbus Day) and they were not honoring their lunch specials. While this was not a problem for me, my friend had actually called them in advance to make sure that they had the AYCE option available and it was not communicated to her. I was waiting for my friend to show up and was not asked whether I'd like anything to drink. Granted that they were busy, I still think it's not too difficult to bring water to someone as you are passing by their table 5-10 times. After my friend arrived, both of us ordered a coke and water. I love that you can customize it yourself. Again, I think it was slightly overpriced. I get the bento box from other local restaurants for cheaper and more portions. This is probably my favorite AYCE sushi restaurant in Texas! My friends and I drove down to Houston mainly for this, and we were not disappointed! The service was super fast, and I think the small size restaurant is one of the reason. The servers were super friendly and allowed us to choose different tiers for the AYCE options, since some of us didn't want to pay extra fees. I wanted the Taizzi tier, because I was craving sashimi, but my friends wanted the regular tier only. The sashimi were THICKKKKK, and I was not expecting that at all. Most AYCE places give you small pieces of sashimi if anything, but Taizzi literally throws me a huge slab of cut quality salmon. It was delicious & filling, but my favorite are the nigiris! Their fatty salmon, octopus and unagi nigiri were so good, and the rice to fish ratio was perfect. They didn't overstuff the nigiri with too much rice, and the fish pieces were huge (see photos). Since I got different tier than my friends, we couldn't share our food, so I couldn't try their sushi rolls. I can't finish one by myself, since I was focusing on the sashimi and nigiri, but they all look pretty tasty. The ahi tower was high quality with good rice to fish ratio, and everything blends well together. Their appetizers had its hits and misses, like the popcorn chicken was bleh, but shrimp tempura were good-- it doesn't matter since the main course is the sushi! They even have delicious tempura ice-cream for dessert and it was YUMMY. The ice-cream did not melt at all inside but the coating was warm and toasty *drools* The one thing that throws me off was the restaurant being super small. I was expecting more space, but they probably can fit like 40 people max. We came with a group of 9 so we basically took 3 tables alone.
