Very disappointed with the new ownership of this car wash. I've been a customer at this car wash for YEARS and it's gone downhill the last 5-6 months. No more pre-spray, soap dispensers are broken when you're driving in. No more towels available to dry off water spots (dryers do not work well) and for the past three weeks - no more towels. I asked about the towels, spray cleaners etc. - no longer an option. I'm canceling my membership immediately. read more

There is always a long line and only one or two lanes are open out of the three. It has declined since new ownership and name. Before, I had no issue getting in and out of there in a timely manner. Now, I go only because I paid for the yearly unlimited. They took the mirror down which was very helpful when pulling in as well. The staff looks annoyed to be there. Depending on who is there, that is the quality of the pre wash that you get. I have also gone several times where something is broken or it is just closed. Several vaccums are always broken. My car never comes out clean. When you buy unlimited it isn't really unlimited. I went once not knowing my husband had gone earlier that day and was declined from entering. read more

Have loved this location for years as a member. The "fast pass" convenience and the addition of cleaning supplies in the vac area were awesome. I have to agree with others saying it has gone downhill with new ownership. They no longer pre-spray cars as we enter and it has been closed for repairs on some days. Dryers never work as well as before. Today 12/9/25 the vacs were 100% out of order! That is the last straw I'm cancelling my membership to go elsewhere. read more

When this car wash was privately owned, it was awesome! Ever since take five purchased the Saint Joseph Michigan location the quality has steadily declined. Many times now our vehicles appear to have been rinsed not washed. Most visits find more than a few vacuums don't work at all as well as many times towels are no where to be found. Will be taking my vehicles to Drive-n-Shine once it opens...it's not as conveniently located as take 5, but hopefully my membership/money won't be taken for granted like at take 5 in St Joseph. read more

Went there today and spent $27 on an ultimate car wash. Driving into the sun, the windshield had big cloudy areas all over it!!! Whatever the wax or whatever was applied obviously didn't rinse off. Every window was spotted with dried water. Had no idea an ultimate car wash number one, was so expensive and two my windows look terrible. Won't be back. read more

Poor business practice. I paid $40.00 per month for an unlimited wash while it was with the previous ownership. They changed the ownership to Take 5 Car Wash, and the price on the menu has changed (lower). They have not notified me but keep charging my credit card monthly for the full amount. I contacted customer service, and they only refunded 1 month instead of 8 months of the wrong price charged. I am disappointed. I have been a member since 2017. J- read more

Every time I go through the car wash I'm more disappointed than the last trip ! This most recent trip, 10 minutes ago, I was told they were not allowed to rinse my running boards. I have been a monthly customer paying for two cars every month since just after the opening of this car wash. I can see the difference of the quality (lower) almost every time I take my pickup through. When I get home I have to wipe the soap off my dark blue truck because there is not enough water used to completely rinse. The drying is about half of what it used to be. I have to use my wipers after I leave the car wash just to clean off the windshield. I am counting the days when the is another car wash opening nead here so I can get a decent wash job at a decent price. I'm not sure what happened, but the quality of the wash has diminished recently. When I purchased a subscription a couple of years ago they had a person ready to help folks through the confusing menu. That service is rarely seen now. They used to have a mirror so I could see to align my wheel with the track. Well, it must gave been too difficult to wash this handy feature, so they removed it. At the entry they used to have a person on each side spraying on a prewash. Well, they must have determined that only the driver side ever needs a prewash, so they have only one person now. And not a friendly face. I get the impression they're annoyed that I forced them stand and squirt my car. I've been noticing over the past few months that the rinse hasn't quite done the job as it used to. Yesterday, I stopped a couple of blocks away and my wife noticed that the right front fender was about half covered with soap! This was after the rinse (such that it was), blow dry, and driving down the road! As a result, my car looks like it needs to be washed. Not a good value when I don't have a clean car going out of the car wash. Personally, they've cut one too many corners for me. read more

This car wash used to be great under prior ownership. Since it was bought and the name changed to "Take 5", they are horrible. Cancelling my membership on 2 cars today. They have over-sold their memberships to the point that the lines to get in are frequently 10+ cars long. About 6 times this past month I couldn't wait in line so I skipped a needed wash. They no longer spray the tailgate or running boards on my pick-up and they often close lanes for some reason. Often I get stuck behind someone who has a credit card issue compounding the issues with closed lanes. Most of the vacuums are also broken. read more

Used to be a great car wash. I've been on a monthly unlimited plan for years. I just canceled it. They have been closed for "weather" for the better part of the month. It's just cold. Every other car wash is open and they have never done this in past years. When I called to complain about paying monthly for a service that's never available, I didn't get so much as an apology, just ok, we'll cancel that for you. May as well go get the cheap gas station one. Terribly run place. read more

Take 5 car wash should be renamed to Take 30! Since the new ownership nothing has been the same. This location has been closed 3 days in the past month due to "severe weather" but the previous owner always had it open. You take a risk of being side swiped or rear-ended while sitting in line on the side of the road on Cleveland Ave, since all three of their lanes are never open! What a sloppy job they have done with the upkeep at this location. I stepped on a dirty diaper when I got out of my car to basically dry it all myself, and then still needed to clean the back window! Don't even try to use half of their vacuums, because they are either completely clogged or broken entirely! Last but not least, there are scratches all over my car from this place, and since I just purchased a new vehicle, I will NEVER be returning! There is only one word to describe this place, and that word is DISGUSTING!! read more

So I have used this car wash for a few years and they are terrific. Here are two incidents where they really shined. One was I had a rather unexpected and unusual incident that really changed my life. I found myself without my car and I finally made it over to cancel my monthly membership about 45-60 days after my last car wash. They not only did not fuss, but they canceled my membership without any fees and refunded me for two months of the membership. The next was just about a month ago. I went for a car wash in he morning and there was a rather large clang as I pulled out of the car wash. I noticed my car riding funny and I had a horrible flat tire. I huge kudos to the glass shop a few lots down who helped me jack up my car to put on the spare. Soft Touch responded appropriately & paid for the tire and was terrific about the whole situation. It is just so nice to experience mishaps and not be condemned when asking a business to make things right. Usually now a days people are not only unapologetic, but usually somehow blame you for their mistakes. Soft touch gets five stars from me and two thumbs up read more

Thorough drive thru wash and what was really nice is the free towels that they provide so I could wipe down and clean my rims. The free vacuum is awesome too! read more

I left my car outside all summer with rain and heat under the trees. Bugs made nests in my wheels. Leaves were stuck. Everything about my white exterior on my car looked awful. The guy who helped saw my car & offered a discount since it was my first time. I asked if I could get their best wash and they did exactly that.
