Great restaurant! The food is definitely worth trying. The Chili Verde Burrito was outstanding, so good it almost made me consider ordering a second one before I finished the first. This was a very large and clean restaurant. I loved how cozy it was with lots of booths and a fireplace. The service was excellent, staff were very friendly and the food was prepared very quick! I ordered the carne asada, and it was way better than the traditional tacos I pictured in my head. The meat and onions were grilled perfectly, I really enjoy good sautéed onions. The star of the show was the corn tortillas, so much flavor and I never had a tortilla like this before. I had a Burrito Bowl at Takiza; I chose Pork Chile Verde from the meat options. It was an enormous amount of food and it was delicious! It had a sliced avocado on top that was just perfectly ripe. Update. I got the food home and the quesobirria was bland. The shrimp Diablo - whoa. They asked me about heat. Mild or hot. I said medium. I love wasabi, horseradish and hot sauce. The medium Diablo was so spicy I couldn't eat it. I ended up rinsing the shrimp off so it was edible. Caution on the heat. The taqueria were filled with birria meat and were also bland. Kept seeing ads on Facebook for this place, we happened to be in Oshkosh so decided to check it out. It looks like a small mom n pop shop. I'm assuming the person who greet us at the door was the owner. He was very nice, friendly, and attentive. He was greeting, answering phones, waiting tables, and was in and out of the kitchen. So you have to just be patient with him, which we did not mind at all. Food was great! I also got a strawberry margarita, not super strong and sweet (my kind of drink). We didn't think we order much but we were so full and didn't even finish our food. I also like the fact that they gave us 3 different types of salsa - all different spice levels. They do sell quesabirria, it's just not on the menu - just ask for it. It was good btw. Would recommend and go again if we're ever in town. read more

My boyfriend and I have always loved takiza! We have been frequent customers since they were at the smaller location. We were so happy that they were able to get a bigger spot! Everytime we go we are greeted like family. The wait staff is always very professional, efficient, and welcoming. The wait staff is attentive but not over bearing. They have great deals on their lunch menu and even give out punch cards for lunch to receive 50% off on a meal after so many lunch visits. They have awesome drink specials all week long as well. You can tell the food is fresh and authentic. They make their corn tortillas daily and are the best we have ever had. The portions are big and always have me waddling out of there or unbuttoning my pants just to get another bite down. Their salsa is complimentary and always super fresh. They have a special takiza seasoning at the table and I recommend you sprinkle some on your chips. Everything is delicious but I have to shout out their enchiladas, barria, and the fajita platter. Me and my boyfriend will just drink the consume like a soup once the birria tacos are all gone. The enchiladas are made with their fresh daily corn tortillas and are unlike no other enchiladas I have ever had. The fajita platter is huge and the seasoning on the meat is perfect and so delicious!! A lot of places you can tell don't season their meat. I do recommend getting Barbacoa for your tacos. It is a dollar up charge but that doesn't matter because the meat is so tender and packed with flavor! We love takiza and whenever we want a flavor of Mexico there is no question on where to go! A small mexican cusine spot with flavorful food. Not too many options and nothing out of the ordinary. Everything here had a good flavor profile and service was nice and quick. If you're looking for a quick fix, this is the place. Need to train staff better. Need to be more timely. Was there 2.5+ hours. Received my food cold. Never got my appetizer until my food came out which was also cold. Took 38 minutes for my piña colada which was straight liquid. Never brought water. Didn't accommodate my bill after. Was so so excited to try. Will not be returning. 4/12/2025. Would not recommend coming here. My family and friends family came here to eat dinner and the place was not packed. My first complaint is, the waitress didn't give us water with our alcoholic beverages when we first ordered drinks (and didnt give us any until i went up to the front and nicely asked for some.) Second complaint, my friends family was meeting us. We ordered one appetizer prior to their arrival and didnt receive it until after they got there. And it took over 20 minutes to bring out. (ofc table runners brought food and thats how we received our appetizer.) On top of it taking awhile, we didnt get the tortillas it was supposed to come with. Our waitress didn't come back to check in when our friends family came, until 15 minutes later.. my friend ordered an appetizer & pina colada... another 20 minutes passed and the pina colada comes out completely melted. We had NO ORDER FOR MAIN COURSE at this point because the waitress has not checked on us after she quickly took the drink & appetizer order and left... Finally, we got to wave her down & take our main orders. She takes the orders and comes back 10 minutes later to say she didn't know the exact burrito somebody ordered so she wanted to make sure it was correct. the food gets to our table 25 minutes later and we all start to eat. And the appetizer my friend ordered came with the main course... WTF? At this point all of our food was fine but my friend's appetizer and main. Her burrito was completely soggy, falling apart at the bottom & her appetizer was cold like it was sitting there the 20 minutes. We spoke with the manager, and she did not seem too concerned about the quality of service or food. She did not want to discount anything, but she did take off the burrito that was taken back... ig thats something..? NOT. Finally... Authentic delicious Mexican food. I have lived in Wisconsin for 4 years, moving from California. And this is the first Mexican restaurant that satisfied my soul!! Not only was the food on point, but the service was fast and efficient. We went on a night when they had a live Mariachi band playing which made for such a fun night! I came here with my sister last night as she kept seeing ads for this place. I was apprehensive as we pulled up because the place was small, but boy it did NOT disappoint! The margaritas were not pre-made and sugary like I've previously had at other restaurants. I got the choripollo burrito and it hit the spot! It was so delicious - so much flavor and so tender! I had leftovers and even warming them up it was still amazing! Our server and all the employees were extremely friendly! Their carne asada tacos are to die for! I could have eaten ten of them in one sitting. The steak was tender and flavorful and not dry. They also handmake their corn tortillas. YUM. The restaurant is small but modern and clean. Everyone gets free chips and salsa and the staff was very nice and accommodating. A much-needed addition to the Oshkosh food scene! I ordered fajitas that were not served on a sizzling platter, this would have been ok BUT the meat and veggies tasted like they were sitting in a buffet warmer and plated for my non-enjoyment. I have gone to many-a-Mexican restaurant and this place has been BY FAR the best I've had in a loooong time. The restaurant itself is small - only 6 tables, so be aware of that... but the service was stellar, and the food was perfect. I ordered a peach margarita (a little sweet for my taste but was still delicious), and I got the taquitos appetizer with carnitas, guac, and extra sides of pico and queso. These were actually the best carnitas I've ever had, especially for in taquitos. The shells were super crispy, but the carnitas was pull apart, juicy, melt in your mouth it was bursting with flavor and I just don't know how I'll have carnitas anywhere else now. Third visit, food was mediocre, service was TERRIBLE. Our service was slow. Ordered drinks with no salt, drinks had salt , twice. Ordered sour cream with my dinner didn't come with it, asked for it, never got it, was charged on the bill. Asked for waters twice, received straws for the water but never received the actual water.
