They have multiple options to choose from - a 13 course, a 15 course ABs an AYCE (this has seating times that change by which day so check before reserving) They are a small place but super organized. They keep filling up your ginger. Great selection of sakes and wines as well. If you ask they will explain the different drinks and what it pairs with Every course was excellent - the toro, wagyu, miso cod stood out for me though. These were highlights of my meal. Very indulgent and well done. Even the eel which many places fall short at. Nice minimal pairings that go really well together I'll be back for the AYCE option because everything looked and tasted really nice and it seems like a great value for money The bar seating looked pretty sweet for date night They have complimentary dessert at the end which is not too sweet and perfect to finish your meal with

Came here in December for the $89 omakase and it was a great experience. I cannot imagine finding another 15 course omakase for the same price. Many of their fresh ingredients are imported from Japan which was surprising for their price, freshness, and quality. My favorite bites were the following: Seared Wagyu Fois gras Oyster Writing this review several months later and I still remember those bites. The interior is dim and intimate - my favorite. Staff are polite and you can order more rounds the end. Very likely to come back here next time I'm in town, especially now that I'm seeing AYCE omakase!!

I found my new favorite spot in the Lower East Side. I've rated over 2200 places on @beli and gave this a 10.0. Takumi Omakase does an Endless Omakase deal that is dangerous in the best way possible. It delivers incredibly fresh fish, top-tier service, and a non-stop lineup of amazing courses. Come hungry, because they will literally keep the high-quality creative nigiri coming until you say stop.

Came here for late dinner at 8:15pm to 9:45pm for endless omakase 90 min. The chef made as much as he could for 90 min. He made 33 courses in that time and here are the combinations below: Amber jack Kumura oyster with ponzu sauce and yuzu foam Akami blue fin tuna with shitake mushroom Miso grilled cod Red snapper Torched king salmon Yellowtail with Pickled jalepeno Fatty tuna (otoro) with caviar & chives Hokkaido Scallop with truffle salt Sawara Spanish mackerel Trout crispy onion and yuzu sauce A5 Wagyu torched Hokkaido Uni Handroll Eel with foie gras kuromutsu Miso paste Salmon roe ikura Sea bass yuzu pepper salt Akami peppered radish Fatty tuna with pickled wasabi Wagyu with uni Salmon with yuzu miso sauce Ebi with uni Spicy yellowtail with wasabi cream Spanish mackerel with grated ginger Steel headed trout Amber jack with pickledJalepeno Otoro with foie gras Branzino with pesto paste Otoro and uni torched Akami with torched Shitake mushroom Steel headed trout with miso A5 Wagyu and uni Ice cream Overall this was such an amazing experience with high quality ingredients from Japan. I feel like chef has a lot of skills when making each course. My only gripe was the wasabi he put was too much. Usually it isn't an issue for us in omakase but here it hit our nose. About half way through we asked for no wasabi and so happy we did and we were able to enjoy the experience much more. The passion chef has is so clear. I hope this restaurant can go far because he really does deserve the business for the work he puts into it. Omakase tasted like most other omakases around the city (when ordered without the wasabe). Very very fresh ingredients. Highly recommend for people curious about omakase and hope to get a good value. The bill ended up being about $150/person after tip and tax but so worth the 33 courses (not including ice cream #34) Would love to come back here again with friends!

$118pp AYCE omakase what i liked most about it was its AYCE as u go (vs other ayce u order set amt @ the end), so after like 20 courses u can tell the chef the pairings u liked best and they'll make anything for u. i was out here mixing wagyu with uni with caviar with sweet shrimp the whole shabang. the pairings are also unique (some like miso cod, truffle cracker sashimi, etc). ended up eating 35 courses at the end one of my new fave places in nyc! Favorite Dishes: Toro with caviar, Salmon with yuzu onion crunch, Truffle cracker yellowtail, Miso cod

Near the ending of the endless omakase.

I came here to try their endless omakase, and overall, I had a great experience. The quality of the sushi was excellent. For my personal taste, some of the dishes and soy sauce were a bit on the salty side, so I found myself drinking a lot of water throughout the meal. One tip for future guests: take photos of the sushi pieces you really enjoy so you can easily remember which ones to reorder. The dining experience is timed, and you have about 10 minutes to place additional orders and finish your meal before they prepare for the next seating. They do allow breaks or pauses, but keep in mind that any pause time is included in your allotted dining time.

A lovely experience! Came here for date night with my partner, and it was a wonderful time. Our chef was a great entertainer, and the host even gave us a sake on the house. Sushi was prepared beautifully and super fresh. We made a reservation beforehand, which I always recommend to make sure you can be seated. Will be back!

I really liked all the pieces that were offered in the 13 piece set. I was super full after the meal and the fish was fresh and delicious! Will be back to try the 18 piece again :)

We had a table rsvp for 2 at Takumi last night. It was our first time having omakase. Everything is very fresh and well combined. Even though we sat at the table, the staff still thoroughly explained every pieces that we had! We came to celebrate my boyfriend birthday and he enjoyed the food a lot. Would definitely come back

One of the best omakase experiences! It's a small venue but the staff is so kind and the fish was delicious!! They offer two types of omakase, an $89 option with 15 courses or $69 with 13 courses. It is also byob although they sell sake and wine. Throughout the month of July, they are giving unlimited sake for free but you have to make sure to mention it. Definitely recommend!

Takumi offers two kinds of seating--you can grab a table (where they serve four pieces at a time instead of individually) if you aren't able to reserve a spot at the chef's counter, where all the magic and fire happen. I saw several parties bring their own bottles, and the staff gladly chilled, opened, and served them. When I went, the crowd was mostly couples. To start, they serve three appetizers to tease your taste buds. Each dish was visually stunning and equally delicious--some presented in oyster shells, others laid over kelp. All the nigiri pieces were fresh. Some of my favorites included the unagi and torched foie gras hand roll, the fresh and creamy uni, the red seabream with its amazing texture, and of course, the melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu. The most interesting piece I haven't had at other omakase spots was the ark shell (red clam). Its texture wasn't as chewy or tough as most clams--it was deliciously sweet and wonderfully toothy.

Fe our Omakase chef was incredible! RA our server and host as well! Great great quality for price and highly recommend. Endless option worth the extra!

We had a great time here. It was my wife's favorite omakase so far. You get unlimited cold sake, but only if you ask - not sure how long they are doing this promo for. It was junmei sake and tasted almost like clarified 막걸리 since it was so rice-forward. I liked it alot. For $89, it's a great deal and my wife wants to come back next year. One small note is that it was for my wife's birthday, but there was nothing special like the other reviews mentioned in case that's important to you.

Ask the Community - Takumi Omakase

How long does omakase dinner usually last we plan to visit for early dinner at 530 but have to go to a show?

75 minutes and they hold to it! When we went, they seated a bunch of parties at the same time and each course came at the same time for everyone so it moves along.

Do you get omakase if you book a resy reservation at the table vs omakase bar?

Yes. You get omakase wherever you sit and however you make a reservation

    Until June 20th

The slices aren't thin, delicate, and melt-in-your-mouth as one usually gets in a sit down; they are extra thick, and I had to really bite down on some of the pieces. The rice was nicely seasoned and was cooked well + portions are also big to match those thiccccc salmon slices. To be honest, I was getting a little nauseated after 5 pieces, haha~ They were definitely delicious but I'd probably just eat 3 or 4 pieces and share with a friend! It was easy to text the number on the website and coordinate a pickup time, and the staff was friendly when I arrived. The restaurant is a little hard to find as the windows are blinded and the sign is a piece of paper on the door.

The katsu was very, very moist on the inside, with a crispy batter that was so light it was almost flavorless. I honestly couldn't really tell the difference between the tenderloin and pork loin. Overall the dish had a very light flavor and I added quite a bit of sauce and wasabi. Some of the less memorable dishes were the eggplant agebitashi and truffle rice. The eggplant agebitashi tasted like a cross between an eggplant parm and a bolognese. The truffle rice had a very strong truffle flavor that ended up overpowering everything else in the dish. I thought the slices of raw button mushrooms were a little strange. I really enjoyed the sabazushi. The pieces of mackerel were thick and carried a lot of that characteristic mackerel oily flavor, but the oiliness was cut by enough vinegar to balance everything out. The niku udon was also a surprise hit. The noodles were wide, flat, super slurpy, and the broth carried a deep umami flavor. Overall, I had a pretty solid experience here.
