Service and ambiance were 5 stars. I would probably knock a decimal off due to the lack of greeting from the chef at the price point and my expectation from the only option of omakase. The serving staff were fantastic, regardless. I do not recommend this restaurant unless you don't care about money and you are not as particular for taste. The pricing for both options was basically a ploy to force you into selecting the more expensive option as the first option was excessively meager for the price difference. I'm typically not a fan when fine dining business do this as the value should be based on the price. To me that's bad business. For the food itself, the presentation would be a 4 and the taste of half the dishes should be a 2. All of the cooked fish was overcooked and soggy. The raw fish was definitely the highlight and very good, a saving grace. A lot of the food was served at chilled even though cooked which was confusing to me. Maybe it's just me but I did not particularly enjoy the meal for the price. No particular dish stood out. Sashimi was good but lack of it made things more disappointing. Lack of value for me was the name of the game. And, there was no sushi... I understand that it's in the Disney parks but I think it's better to use my tongue and belly space on something else.

The rating is a 3.5 star for me. The staff, atmosphere, and overall experience was great. The restaurant itself does make you feel like you're in Japan. However, I think the biggest letdown is the food. While it is presented beautifully, for an omakase experience for $250/person, there wasn't much sushi/sashimi. Some of the fish was overcooked and it looked better than it tasted. I feel like the effort was put more into the presentation, and therefore, the taste was lacking. I felt underwhelmed and although I was full, it wasn't satisfying. I would not come back here and wouldn't recommend it if someone were to ask.

Takumi Tei is a serious restaurant. It delivers precision, restraint, and ceremony. What makes the experience more impressive is the contrast to the chaos outside. Epcot on New Years Eve is loud, crowded, and full of people drinking and celebrating. The moment you step through the door, all of that disappears. The room becomes quiet and controlled. It feels like you entered a different world. That level of separation takes discipline and it sets the tone for the rest of the meal. The menu is built around small controlled courses. Nothing is sloppy, oversized, or lazy. Every element has a purpose. The opening bites show technique without shouting. The sashimi course is the strongest example. Knife work is sharp, the cuts are uniform, and the placement shows pride in craft. The wagyu course is the peak. It melts and the seasoning is assertive without being loud. The clay pot soup forces you to slow down and pay attention, which is the right move for this style of dining. Dessert felt weaker than the courses before it, but it did not damage the experience. Service is formal but not stiff. Staff respect pacing and presence. They engage without hovering or performing. That balance is rare. Pricing is high, and it should be. This is not a restaurant for volume or excess. It is for intention and detail. If you want quantity, skip it. If you want craft, it earns the money. I would return, but not casually. This is destination dining. It suits moments when you want a meal that makes you think.

Ok let me start off with, this experience was worth every penny. The ambiance was very intimate and the staff focused on your needs. Your waiter guides you through the food and tells you a little something special about the chef's insight on each dish, which enhances the experience. My partner and I ordered the Omakase: Kiku ($250 per person) it's the full 7 course dinner. They do offer Sake and Wine Pairings for an upcharge, but we don't drink that much, so we ordered a cup of tea each (free refill btw haha!) With the Omakase, you do get to choose some of the options. They also offer a vegetarian menu. Neither me nor my partner are vegetarian, so we just got the regular omakase. Attached to my review are photos of the seven courses (2 of them I took a picture after I ate it because it was so stinkin good that I forgot to take a picture before I dug in!) At the end, your waitstaff prepares fresh matcha in front of you. I guess it was to kind of mimic a tea ceremony, but it was nice!! They also gave us some origami (one each for my partner and I) for memory's sake! It was a great experience.

I have had Takumi-Tei sitting on the backburner for years - I originally planned to dine here shortly after they opened, however that trip got derailed by COVID and I never got the chance to check it out. I made it my intention to try new spots (to me) during this trip, so I booked dinner here for my first night. Takumi-Tei opened about 5 years ago in the Japan Pavilion at Epcot. While Japan already had a couple of restaurants, this was their first Disney Signature restaurant and offers a higher-end experience compared to its neighbors. After checking in, I was led inside and greeted by a Cast Member who explained the concept of the restaurant and the theming. There are 5 elements that went into the design of the restaurant, and each has a dining room it's themed after. I sat in the room modeled after wood, which was really lovely. The decor wasn't ornate at all, rather it was simple with clean lines. Despite this, it gave off high-end and the entire atmosphere was very serene. Takumi-Tei's menu consists of a seven-course omakase menu - and at $250 a person, it's the most expensive restaurant in Epcot. As an alternate, they offer an abbreviated version for $150, as well as full and abbreviated vegetarian versions (same prices). I was going all in, so I decided to get the full monty; while most of the selections were pre-determined, I got to choose for three of the courses. Additionally, they offer sake and wine pairing for an additional fee, as well as even more drink selections and standalone options. I like sake but am by no means a connoisseur - but they had some really expensive ones on the menu so I assume they were high quality. All of the food was really delicious - my palate is not refined enough to decipher between excellent Japanese food and good Japanese food, however I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and could tell that the food was high quality. The highlights for me were the marinated fish selections during some of the courses and the A5 Wagyu beef. I also had two of their standalone cocktails which were really tasty. Service was excellent, honestly it really made the experience for me. My server was super friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. She took the time to explain everything to me and we had some wonderful conversation about Japan and New York City. Overall, I had a great meal at Takumi-Tei. Is it worth $250? I'm not really sure, but it was definitely a memorable experience and one of the highlights of the dining scene at Epcot.

The perfect an ending to a day at Epcot, sushi in Japan. The service is amazing. The staff is so detail oriented and careful to accommodate any allergies. We love to get the sushi boat which has an amazing selection for two. The miso soup was felt comforting after a long of "walking around the world". We like to set our reservations for this restaurant around sunset. So we can see the fireworks while we eat.

This was a really cool dining experience. We did the seven course option. The sashimi and dessert were my two favorite courses. The food was delicious but I wouldn't go back for the prefix option. I would love the option to order individual courses.

We spent a week in Orlando Florida for our time in Disney World. We ended our trip at Takumi-Tei and it was the best decision we ended with a big bang‼ We were greeted with a smile and get to learn about the history of Takumi-Tei. Our server/waiter was Kyota and he was accommodating, polite, knowledgeable, and helpful with our request. The food was gorgeous, delicious, and high quality. As big sushi lover, we were familiar with the ingredients that we love like Otoro, Uni, A5 Wagyu, ect., but you can tell the chef put in a lot of thought and effort on each dish which accentuated these ingredients flavor. Each dish had a story and it made the experience more enjoyable and wonderful. Br prepared that you will spend 2 hrs here as it's a sit down dining experience, but you won't regret it. Would definitely recommend.

Food and service are amazing! They do a great job at not making you feel like you're eating in a theme park restaurant.

My mom was visiting town and I decided to get a reservation at Takumi tei to try it out. We hadn't been there before and were big fans of both sushi and omikase experiences so we were very optimistic. Upon checking out the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by someone who is incredibly friendly, and it didn't stop there. The entire team at Takumi Tei is clearly devoted to service and creating a positive experience and they took very good care of us the entire night. The restaurant is decorated beautifully with each room drawing from a different element in Japanese culture. The presentation of our first dish was adorable: it was in a clear sphere almost like a terrarium, and it consisted of delectable crab and a nice refreshing salad. Also on that plate we had some edamame, some ikura, a soy gelatin, and some lovely glass noodles. This course was almost like snacking. Next came the nigiri course with 3 delectable cuts of fish. Each had a seasoning on top that was a lovely pairing. After that was a lobster tempura with a dipping salt and a sauce. This was the best tempura I'd ever had between the freshness and the crispness. It did the lobster proud for sure. After that, we got a sashimi course! Now I love sashimi, so this was one of my favorite parts. The sashimi course had 6 generous pieces of fish and it was some of the freshest I've ever had. Next, we had our main course. We were given 3 options for this course, so I chose the wagyu beef. This beef melted in my mouth like butter. The sauce with it was a little sweet for my taste, and I wasn't crazy about the potatoes (they were starchy and a little underseasoned), but the mushrooms and pearl onions were excellent too. Next came a nice miso soup with mushrooms which was delicious and perfect to wash down the heavy steak. Last, we had a choice of dessert, so I got the chestnut creme brûlée. It was a little bit savory for my taste, but good none the less. The tea ceremony finished off the meal nicely. Overall, I enjoyed our visit so much. We had 7 courses and were so full. The food was all excellent, and the service was the best I've ever had on Disney property. I'd definitely return to takumi tei. At $250/head, it isn't a cheap spot by any means, but it's worth every penny.

We went here for $250 per person omakase experience. I'm not sure if $250 is the right price but me and my wife both enjoyed the food and the experience!

Had to cap off our Walt Disney World trip with some top-level dining at EPCOT. Read a lot of great things about Takumi-Tei and its $250 tasting menu, so I made a reservation as soon as it was available! I really had no idea EPCOT could bring food on such an elevated level! The tasting menu was as good as it looked on the menu! Started with an assortment of five appetizers, the best part of which was definitely the crab legs and uni. Next up was the sushi course, which was solid. After that was an insane lobster tempura, which was fried really well and went well with the matcha salt that it came with. Sashimi course was solid as well. Best part was the A5 wagyu, as I felt like this justified the cost of the meal. They said it was 3 oz, but it was definitely more than that! Had some great miso soup and dessert to round off an excellent meal. Service was absolutely fantastic! Our server took care of us extremely well. Never felt rushed at all, and the timing between each course was good. Ambience in here was great. The restaurant wasn't really that full to start, and the tables were already spaced out. Was really nice to be comfortable in here. Great experience at Takumi-Tei! Definitely worth it for a meal at a Disney property. Not sure how much I would rate it if it were just a restaurant outside of Disney. But I was definitely not disappointed, at minimum.

My party of 5 had a reservation for Friday night at 6:15PM. Reservations are highly recommended. We were greeted promptly and were brought to our table. It wasn't too crowded or loud either, so it was a huge difference from being in the heat and surrounded by so many people. I appreciated that the environment enhanced our meal in a way, from the music to the service given, it was a really nice touch! When I heard it was omakase, I was expecting us to be sat where we can watch the chef make our pieces, but we were all sat at a table instead and the server would bring us our dishes. Be prepared to stay here for awhile, as it's 5 courses. We started off with the chefs selection of appetizers. The presentation was beautiful, I'm a sucker for nice aesthetics! It followed with the lobster tempura, sashimi, wagyu, miso soup, dessert, and a matcha green tea ceremony. I was stuffed by the end of the meal, and everything was tasty! The sashimi didn't taste as fresh as I'd like, and for omakase, it wasn't as much sushi as I was expecting. The lobster tempura was yummy, they included a buttery sauce and yuzu salt. The wagyu was also good, it was super rich, so I'm glad the portion for that wasn't huge. I chose the strawberry yuzu sorbet for my dessert, so happy I did! I'm normally not a sorbet gal, but the combo with yuzu really complimented it well. While everything tasted delicious, I don't know if I'd come back again. The price is extremely steep for what it is. I guess I'm a bit spoiled coming from NYC, we have many omakase spots for less than $100. I wasn't necessarily blown away, but I'm glad I got to experience this!

    Ask the Community - Takumi-Tei

    Are they taking Reservations?

No, strictly walk up. They are only open for dinner except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They have a podium on the ground floor and if someone is there, walk up and ask. While service is excellent, they did miss on the Wagyu.

Can you go to the restaurant without going to Epcot or do you have to be in the park?

    Have to be in park

Is it in the same building as Tokyo Dinning?

Yes. It's on the ground floor on the Morocco side of the prominade.

The bowl was wayyyyyy too sweet for me. Too much of the sauce. But the rice and chicken were pretty good. The pork belly is grilled and not seasoned much. So added it to the bowl to calm the sweet and it worked well. Overall, this place isn't worth queuing for, but still pretty good considering its location. Solid 6/10 for me.

Very good! My…read morehusband and I were in town for a mini vacation to celebrate his birthday and of course while we're on vacation we have to find the most amazing places to dine. I did a quick Google search as well as a Yelp search and this place came up and the reviews were fairly well first of all I love Hibachi so I'm gamed to try every Hibachi place in the world nevertheless I did call to make reservations but I believe during this certain time of the year which was I think it was a Labor Day weekend or the weekend before Labor Day... Nevertheless reservations weren't needed but I did make them just in case. We arrived via Uber which was a quick 10 minute ride from our stay from the Sheraton Vistana. We walked in was greeted immediately and overall everything was a 10 out of 10. I don't think I have any complaints if you love Hibachi and love the family style sit around type thing around the Hibachi Grill definitely check this place out very chic very picturesque. Seems like it's very clean as wel! I highly recommend this spot. If we're ever back in town I think we're going to definitely stop by here again and dine. I almost forgot I told them that we were celebrating my husband's birthday and the chef from our experience ended our night with a fluffy cupcake a one candle lit... Those at our table sung happy birthday to him it was super duper sweet and I love when restaurants do this...such a cherry on top of a great dining experience! Have fun and enjoy life :)

First off I must address the elephant in the room their manager Tony who likes to stand in the archway between the dinning rooms and send text messages like it's going out of style, then after he was done with one of his texting sessions I watched him use not a very nice and kinda demeaning tone to one of the employees to go tell them to do something and let me say I noticed this across the table through a cooking chef so it would seem that he isn't very nice and if that weren't enough at the end of our meal our wonderful server Sammie was talking to us and she totally made our visit and was very friendly mid conversation with her Tony comes up and then she stopped in sentence and like walked away as Tony came up I said that she made our visit and he could clearly careless as he then put this QR code in front of me and told me to do a google review I replied I don't do that I use Yelp and that instantly made him get real short with me and walk away, so needless to say that guy has some serious issues as a manager and I feel bad for his staff because it definitely seems like he's one of those managers you don't wanna have. While I might be totally wrong about this as I don't work here and I've only been here once that's just what I noticed what I saw and the energy that I felt. So our food was good but I must say it was just typical hibachi and let's start with the onion soup it was ok kinda bland and needed more mushroom, the salad was good but they didn't give us very much as the server walked away with a very full bowl from a large table, my fried rice and veggies were good but mostly tasted like garlic butter, my steak and shrimp were cooked perfectly and flavorful definitely the better part of the mean but I found it strange that my steak came with a few pieces of potato's I've never seen this before at hibachi and they I had to ask them for ginger sauce for my shrimp as I guess they don't give it out. My hot sake and Kirin were both yummy and I just say the hot sake bottle was on the smaller side but it wasn't over priced so that part definitely added to the night! Our chef was good he didn't do anything out of the normal stuff just the regular the heart beat the egg trick and the volcano but it's all good a basic ambiance is fun sometimes too! Overall food was decent but definitely something that didn't leave an impression on me as other hibachi restaurants have, that mixed with what we noticed go on I wouldn't come back especially with soo much competition in the area I'd rather go there!

It is on the second floor, there are stairs outside as well as an elevator. I would also note that you might be seated with others as this is a hibachi style dining with about 10 seats around a large flattop grill. Again, we do prefer the value at our local hibachi restaurant since we get more food there and at a less cost, however we decided to come back here for a dining package during the Flower and Garden concert series. This is a set price that comes with an entree, dessert and drink (alcohol included) as well as reserved closer seating for the concert. We were a little concerned since it was one of the higher cost restaurants included in the dining package. If you order correctly you can get the most out of that package. We paid about $15 more than ordering without the package. In reality we would not have ordered dessert either so it would have been about $25-$30 cheaper without getting the dining package. However, you get to go into the theatre first, so your seat is guaranteed and you usually get closer seating. If there is someone we really want to see, we are always doing this package. The food is cooked right at your table, in front of you. It is the best part of the meal. The food is actually pretty good as well. I think it has improved quality and taste since the last time we visited. This is a fun experience for the family but your experience can depend on the chef and others at your table. Your meal includes vegetables mixed with udon noodles, white rice and a garden salad as well as the entree protein that was chosen. They have single options such as steak or chicken or combos. They also offer two types of sauce, ginger and a white sauce. Both are actually really good, although I prefer just ginger, and my wife prefers to have both. We both chose the steak and shrimp to get a better value for the package. The salad was cold, crisp and really nice with the ginger sauce. They did keep bringing me white rice, Im not sure why, but I was very full at the end. I will say the portions seemed a little smaller than many years ago, but larger than the last time we visited, but again, we were full by the end so it was fine. I think they season the meats and vegetables appropriately, everything tasted great. I would prefer to have more of the vegetables in larger size as opposed to the thin strips they use to mix with the udon noodles. Service is always fantastic, the cast members are always friendly, ready to help, willing to describe anything to you and overall are just really great. This past visit, we loved our chef and server. Both ladies were extremely friendly, chatted with the table, told us all about themselves, where they were from and also kept our drinks and rice full! I personally love this type of meal and food. I always think I could eat this everyday. The food is great. Im not sure if this will be a stop we have to go to every year, we do prefer our local hibachi, however, the food here is great. It is a nice spot to sit, have a great meal and enjoy the ambiance. It was a little loud this last time, mostly due to another table being intoxicated and very loud. But this is fun dining. It is perfect for kids, it keeps them engaged. I would recommend this for large groups wanting to dine together. Its not a great date night spot in my opinion. But overall good food, would come again in the future. ACES!
