The food here is absolutely delicious! A big plus for me is how they handle the spice levels -- they don't just ask if you want it spicy or not, but let you choose exactly from a scale, which is awesome. Everything we ordered was packed with flavor, and the portions are really big and satisfying. The only downside is the cleanliness. It would be great if they did a deep cleaning of the restaurant because it felt a bit dirty inside. read more

My food wasn't ready yet but I did come a little bit early. I didn't wait long at all. The parking lot had plenty of parking. We ordered: Chicken sate - the chicken was good, they gave me 5 skewers. Let me start this review by stating that the food in this establishment was excellent. While on the high range for this type of restaurant price wise, their offerings were not ordinary. The ambiance was very ordinary, being located in a strip mall. However, when we ordered their fresh rolls, they were $9 and came with lettuce and rice noodles, but no meat. I thought this was a bit unusual, but what happened next sealed my review. They served the rolls with a very small side dish of peanut sauce, and when we asked for more, they said they would have to charge us $3 extra. So we paid $11 for three fresh rolls with no chicken or shrimp in them. We will not come back to a restaurant with this type of scrimping attitude. I was not impressed. read more

We got rained out at the beach, so we came here to eat! The place was empty, service was really nice and ready for us. We liked the larb gai, it wasn't anything too crazy. I would get that again, and the Tom yum soup was the best. It was spicy, had that sour pineapple flavor! The green curry was alright, the veggies def were marinating in some spice for a long time but we didn't mind. The mango sticky rice was good as well, would def recommend if the mangoes are in season! Ambience was fine, you can go in a tshirt and shorts, it's a beach town after all. I can only comment on "to go" as we have never eaten here. However, when we do order, they follow instructions very well and the food is always steaming hot and the portion sizes are large. I was disappointed in the chicken wings as online it showed them as unbreaded yet when we received them, they were breaded. Even though they tasted good, they weren't what I wanted or expected. They also don't notate spice levels on their website and I have found medium spice is sufficient for me, where typically I order the hotter level at other Thai restaurants in the area. We are planning on trying the curry's and noodles soon as we've been very impressed with the flavor profiles so far. read more

Not sure how they got all the 5 stars. One of the worst thai i ever had. Heaven beef was like beef from hell. It was dried and i can clearly tell it was reheated. Tough as leather and had a over night cooked tastes to it. Pad kee mow. They put a bunch of lettuce underneath to make the serving look presentable. It is an extremely small serving once you remove the lettuce. Tom yum goon. Probably the only thing that was some what eatable. read more

My wife and I have been going to Talay Thai twice a year every year now for the last 4 years when we vacation in Miramar Beach. We have not gone to another Thai place in the area after finding Talay Thai. Food has always been spot on with good portions. The prices definitely increased over the years, including this year. Perfectly understandable with inflation and the increased food costs. However, despite the increase in prices, the actual content in the dishes has decreased. My wife always order the pad see lew with beef. I've always commented on how good the amount of sliced beef is in the dish the last few years. Not this year. The amount of beef in the dish decreased dramatically. I also ordered the shrimp and chicken basil. For a dish that is priced at $19.95, there were only 3 shrimps in the dish. As such we will be trying another Thai restaurant on this trip. It's really a shame; we've enjoyed the food here for so many years... read more

I'm a tough critic and make good Asian dishes at home and find most restaurants, not just Asian ones, in general, down here aren't that good. Not enough flavor and a lot of fried crap that mask quality ingredients. We started with the spring rolls, Thai potstickers and edamame. Edamame is edamame but the other two had great flavor and fresh ingredients. No old, chewy spring roll wonton wrappers. Mains we ordered the chicken and wonton soup which had a great broth and the wontons were great. Also ordered beef chili basil with great flavor and the beef was tender. Also ordered the chicken pad Thai. Good flavor, not watered down crap you get from most places. Overall, great place and if you just like food, go here. Better than most places around. read more
