You know what I don't like? Skinny jeans and pants. They've taken over the stores. If I want pants that don't cut off my circulation, I now have to buy them three sizes too large. No joke. I'm just waiting for this fad to blow over.
In the meantime, finding pants your correct size that are NOT skinny/"slimming"/"super stretch" is incredibly difficult. This is how I ended up in Talbots.
Talbots is for older women. No way around it. It's also quite expensive. I have bought the odd item here; I believe the last thing I bought was a jacket a few years ago. They do have nice, good-quality clothing, just not for my age range (or income level).
But I was desperate. Even though it's October as I write this, I found a pair of lined linen pants on sale. Yes, linen. In October. But they were really nice, they were marked down and these are desperate times.
Helpful, earnest sales clerk tried her best to persuade me to look for a matching top as well, but I just needed the pants. They really are nice and worth the price, just the wrong time of year. :-D I signed up for their points card so I could save another 10% (yes they were on sale, but they were still darn expensive).
It was a pleasant shopping experience overall. I do like some of their clothes. If you have the money to spare this is a good place to shop. read more
