With quite the selection of herbal tea, including some interesting loose leaf options, it's the perfect spot for tea in the toon. There's also fresh milkshakes too! I opted for a pot of apple and mint tea based on the waitress's recommendation and I wasn't disappointed. Mmm! We took a seat and awaited lunch whilst admiring the homely and bright interior. It wasn't long till I was in Thai soup heaven with a delicious bowl of thick, creamy, just-the-right-amount-of-spice tasty tang! Accompanied by a delicious tuna, cheese, olives and caramelised onion sandwich, it made for a fine lunch. Seriously yummy stuff and a mega bargain at just £4.50! A waitress will bring your drinks/food to you at a table of your choosing when it is ready. The restaurant was previously open for dinner, but I see on their web site that they have reverted to daytime hours only due to unforeseeable operational issues. What a shame, as Brampton is really about a 20-minute drive and there are few other restaurants directly in the area for dinner.

Tarn Hows is a beautiful setting in the heart of the Lake District National Park. There is a small…read morelake and a lovely circular easy walk with wonderful views all around. Some of the walk is on higher ground and some is through woods but the path has been kept very flat to make it as easy a walk as is possible. Very much a young family walk or an older persons walk. It is a relatively flat walk and easy to do - many pushchairs have been there in the past. This is particularly nice with the Autumn tints or snow on the hills. The National Trust Car park gets very crowded at peak times so be early so as not to be disapointed. Parking charges apply for non National Trust members.
