The patio is overlooking the canal and Djurgarden greenery. Picture perfect Stockholm location. But apart from that the experience is either Meh at worst and Ok at best. Service was slow. We got there just for opening at 11.30 and servers were just running around and not very attentive. Anything but the customer seemed more important, such as laying out cutlery and napkins on empty tables, rather than tending to waiting patrons. There is one dish per day for the discounted price of 135 SEK. A la carte would otherwise cost you almost twice as much. Three types of complimentary bread served, but no bread plates for some reason. The chicken with polenta was average. Served with asparagus and spinach. It was a bit luke warm when it was served. The weekly vegetarian option was purple sweet potatoes with onions and leek along with a chive-like dip. The baked onion was hard to cut. The crispy pork was not crispy at all. A mere cube of fat. More than half was pure fat. Hideous. Served with peppercorn sauce, a carrot and potatoes. These were ok. The credit card system was down and staff were running around like headless chickens. People were asking for the check and were just kept waiting for ages. Our waitress was completely frazzled. Luckily, we had enough cash combined between us to cover the bill. Good service would have been to offer a glass of wine or dessert while people waited for their system to get up and running. Also, this doesn't really matter, but our waitress spoke no Swedish at all, which is unusual among wait staff in Sweden.

Why is this restaurant so highly rated? And, why was it was in Sweden's White Guide?…read more I don't get it. I'll admit, I only give it one star but the appetizers and apple desert were really pretty good! Despite liking those, I do think this restaurant failed miserably on many levels. Everything was a bit worn down and the walk up looked like a deserted outdoor summer bar with everything closed up for winter. It was all very unattractive. We entered inside and there was no one there to greet us for some time. We stood there awkwardly staring at seated guests and waiters walking by and ignoring us. There were dirty electric chords all over the floor that also looked very hazardous and careless. My sambo and I sat down to eat and I noticed my champagne glass was chipped. Then I went to take a sip of another drink and I sliced a little into my lip because the other one was also chipped right at the top! The appetizers came and mine was pretty good, my significant other was really loving his. Then, at the main course I was served a creamed cabbage dish that really turned my stomach. Everything went downhill. I really tried to eat it and give it a chance, but it was so slimy/ crunchy and half cooked it felt like I was eating something spoiled. The sharp heated sourness of the balsamic on top of whatever flavorless slime was around the cabbage made me even more nauseous. My significant other was ok and liking his main course meat dish though, so..... maybe meat is the better choice here. Lastly, I got the chocolate cake and my boyfriend got the apple pastry for dessert. I tasted his and it was wonderful! Mine was so hard and dry I couldn't even cut it! I stabbed my fork as far as it would go into the middle in an effort to tame it, but it got like really stuck on."Only the once and future king" could of taken it offt! Lol! (Yassss... that was a "Sword and The Stone" reference. Haha!). I guess, if you go for dinner here.... stick to only meat dishes and the apple pastry desert. Vegetarians, you are seriously out of luck! YUCK!

The hotel was excellent no complaints there and to be fair I didnt order drinks at the bar. This…read morereview is strictly for the food served at the restaurant. Horrible, horrible horrible! The first time I went I ordered grilled King Prawns with asparagus. I didn't remember ordering ceviche but this dish came out raw, sorry but when you cook shrimp everyone knows it turns pink, the prawns were still grey and basically raw and slimy when I tasted it, yuck! Unless I ask for sashimi or raw please be sure to cook the food properly. I had a horrible stomach ache the very next day. Not only that my friend asked for her steak med rare however they basically gave her rare meat. Last thing I want is a food bourne illness from improperly cooked food. The couple across from us were vocal about their distaste for the food. They had simply ordered a few dishes and midway through asked the server to cancel their entree dish stating the food was awful and the chef should be ashamed to be serving such foods to guests. They got up and walked away..He basically expressed my exact sentiments, the food was horrid with no redempting qualities, they just need to change chefs pronto. Aside from the horrid food, the wait staff were fine. Just please be aware when you dine here!

I tried the club sandwich first and it wasn't amazing--just ok. Though the egg in it was really pretty good. My partner had some meat dish and said it was a bit tough. Then, the second time we ordered Swedish meatballs and the cheeseburger. I swear... you could've bounced both items off the ground like a basket ball they were so hard. You couldn't even cut through the burger! When I told the waiter about the problem he came back saying it was just "well-cooked" and that they "well-cook" everything. Then he asked if I wanted something else, because he wouldn't let me order the burger again! Why couldn't they just re-cook my damn burger patty correctly?! Sure, treat me like i'm an idiot who doesn't know the difference between edible and non-edible food! Lame. Instead of arguing with the old guy about how there's a bit of a difference between "well done" and "rubber" I let it go. After ordering the club sandwich again since I still needed to eat (thinking lets play on the safe side), I sat there for forty minutes watching my sambo try to chew his own rubbery food. Eventually, after waiting a long time, I just made them wrap up my meal for take-away. Not a good experience and not good food! I was really surprised because it's at a Sheraton hotel! What the heck! =P

We ate dinner at this restaurant's buffet tonight (169 SEK/person) - and although we don't eat beef…read moreand I don't eat chicken, there were enough choices to satisfy us - including several types of sushi, which was a treat. The (female) owner didn't speak English, but the two men working there did - and one of them was quite fluent. He asked if we'd like anything to drink, and I said "No, just tap water". Both of the men were very friendly. When I went to pay the bill, the fluent one told me we'd each be charged 8 SEK for the water. I said "Number one, it was just tap water. Number two, we haven't been charged for tap water ANYWHERE in Stockholm (we'd even asked for it at several coffee houses when walking huge distances and everyone gladly complied). And number three, you can't charge for something when you don't first INFORM us there will be a charge". He then said it was written on the menu - and I replied, "We were never GIVEN a menu because we had the BUFFET". He still insisted, so I said "Fine; please call the POLICE and I'll *gladly* tell them what happened". That sure got his attention, after which he said he'd have to talk to the owner. Eventually he returned and said the owner insisted we pay for the water because *she* had to pay for it. I managed to not laugh and said "The water comes from the SINK, and two glasses of water costs NOTHING. Once again, we are NOT paying for the water because you did not INFORM us there was a charge - so either call the police, or else deduct it from the bill!" Yet again, he conferred with the owner - and then he returned & said she would pay for the water (?!). (Note that I've travelled extensively throughout all of Europe - except for Bulgaria - for the past 35 years and I'm very well aware that tap water isn't "available" in certain countries. However, Sweden isn't one of them). What a FOOLISH woman! If she hadn't done that, I would have given four stars - and if this wasn't our last night in Stockholm (which they certainly didn't know), we might have returned there. The only reason I'm giving three stars is because the food was tasty, the place was very clean and the interior is attractive.
