Came in on a Saturday afternoon, when we entered the restaurant, although they were nice, we weren't greeted by the employees behind the desk. We ordered and the food came out fairly quickly. The food here is good, and we would recommend it to others. The vibe I get from the employees is "I just work here" lol. Instead of welcoming their guests. Everything is so tasty. The staff is super nice. Service is efficient. The carnitas burrito is delicious. I did ask for guac as an add on and I'm not sure if he didn't hear me or if he forgot but I will survive and get a receipt next time. The tacos you choose 3. There's a nice selection. Really friendly service and good food. The carne asada is different than what I'm used to from Los Angeles Mexican food, but it wasn't bad if that makes any sense it's just different. The El Paso was also good but different than what I'm used to from both LA and Yuma Arizona area. Both tacos were good and I'd try again in the future! Oh no )))))))))))))::::::::: What happened? I used to go to Tallulah's semi-regularly. I stopped by for lunch for the first time in a few years & it was a very unfortunate meal. I ordered 3 tacos (pollo, carne asada, & al pastor) & my total was almost $20. No matter - good, fresh ingredients cost money, but alas ... it wasn't very good. The meat on all 3 tacos was tough & chewy - the carne asada being the worst, with some pieces being totally inedible. The tacos weren't very flavorful, either. Perhaps the saddest thing was the size to price ratio. The tacos were teeny tiny. There's nothing wrong with a teeny tiny taco (in fact, sometimes I like small tacos so that I can try more types) but when the price tag is so steep, it leaves me feeling disappointed & still hungry. It saddens me to report that Tallulah's may not be what it used to be. I'll have to come back on a different day to be sure, but if my lunch experience was indicative of how their overall quality is trending, I don't have high hopes. The cilantro crema for the fish burrito was refreshing and added additional flavor, but there was not enough fish - we almost couldn't taste it and thought they forgot to add the fish. For the chicken, it was well-seasoned but not exceptionally juicy or flavorful. Would have liked more options for beans besides just black. I was wondering where was the salsa but I could taste it and there was enough salsa to see it taste good. Tallulah's is a long time favorite, could have sworn we left a review saying basically this is our favorite in the near-Boston area, and is of a similar caliber as some of our favorite spots in San Diego. Anyways, we came back today to do a very scientific side-by-side taco tasting and comparison. Tried fried fish, chorizo, al pastor, barbacoa, and carne asada. Overall results were a bit mixed, though fish was at the top, chorizo was full of flavor (although quite potato heavy), and carne asada and barbacoa tended to be rated as needing a little more flavor by one of us (though we both still thought both were delicious. They deleted the last one. So now I'll post constantly. Currently still sitting here eating; but it's literally such a poor experience I'm writing this to make sure I don't forget. The food is mid grade quality. Nothing spectacular. It's over priced for the quality. $21 for a taco and nachos. The queso is not liquid queso but shredded queso blanco but the staff doesn't mention that nor does the menu clarify it. So aside from it being lackluster it also took 20 minutes with only 2 people orders in front of us. Biggest issue being; In the picture you can clearly see the large gap on the plate from them putting my side items ON THE PLATE and by proxy lowering the portion of the already very expensive item by 15-20% or more. When I asked the worker and showed her she literally agreed and said no you're right; then asked another guy who literally lied and said it would have came like that regardless. Then changed it to. Oh well I moved it over for the sides. Which wouldn't be possible because it wasn't moveable because the cheese made it all stuck together. Overall bad experience. Not worth the money paid. Small, but mighty! The menu is a taco-based pallet, quesadillas, chips and so on. The space is tight limited and depending on the time of day, you may want to wait outside until it clears out. They do have an outdoor dinning seating, and it's first come first serve. It's definitely very casual, loud and a place you'd bring your college friends! The storefront is very easy to miss. But, when they are busy, there would be a line. The inside is very simple and clean. And they have a lot of picnic tables outside. So there is a fair bit of seating on a nice day. I ordered a burrito with Chicken and Chorizo. Unfortunately, my order was messed up twice. Firstly it was made as a taco. Secondly, it was made as a burrito with potatoes rather than chicken. Things happen, so I wasn't upset and they did their best to fix the first issue, but the second I didn't notice until we got back to our office. Overall, the burrito was delicious and very large. It was full of flavor. The only thing I wish was that I could have tried the chicken and also that they had a spicier salsa. I tried what they said was the hottest, but it wasn't very spicy at all.
