My doctor here is Dr Ken Koh and he's been amazing. Cannot tell you how many doctors I went to…read morebefore I found one that I felt confident in and felt reliable in seeing about health issues or prescription refills. I once went to a doctor that prescribed me anti-histamines when I had pneumonia. As a result I got asthma, and I've been very cautious about choosing a cheap, bulk-billed doctor. Central Brunswick Centre is not bulk-billed, but it is rebated by Medicare, so your average cost for a consultation is about $30. The staff are super friendly and you don't have to wait too long when you book an appointment. When it comes to your health you can never be too careful but I wouldn't trust anywhere else.

Central Brunswick Medical Centre is gay friendly, and the majority of doctors are gay themselves. So a lot of the LGBT community are patients here and can get sexual advice and check ups in a comfortable environment. I'm straight but I come here because the doctors, receptionists and facilities are amazing. I've been to a few doctors here. Ken Koh is very helpful, and when I left the appointment he even called me on his private office line to double check whether or not I'd had certain vaccines. Fiona Bishop is fantastic, and is always on high demand. When I first wanted to come to this clinic she wasn't taking on any new patients, but six months later I somehow managed to weasel my way onto her regular patient's list. She's compassionate, but firm, and made me piss myself when I walked in with a nasty virus and she spent our entire consultation with a face mask on. (I was very contagious.) James Kennedy is a sweetheart and has a lovely Irish accent that will make you forget all of your ails. The nurse is also incredibly kind and considerate. My ears get blocked often so I come here to get them flushed out. Having water flushed into your middle ear isn't exactly pleasant and can leave you feeling nauseous, so the nurse sat and chatted with me while the room stopped spinning. Some important things to note: - You're able to claim most of the bill back through medicare, and the ladies at reception can help you set things up so those returns are paid directly to your account. - There's a pathology clinic down the hall so you can get your tests done in one hit. - If you're catching public transport, this place can be a bit difficult to find. Walk past Grill'd, then past Video Ezy, walk up two flights of stairs and it's straight ahead on your left.

How often have you gone into your local Doctors surgery to be greeted by FREE wifi and iPads…read moreavailable for patient use while they wait? Doctors @ Teneriffe have upped the GP game. Being a "regular" patient there (it's 100 meters from my front door) I can book appointments online and request which doctor I would like to see. They have ample free parking space in an enclosed, secure carpark off the road which also has entry into the building. With a professional team of medical experts I feel very comfortable coming here with any medical concern. I have personally seen Dr Dora Lee, Dr Fiona McGrath and Dr Karenne Walde. All are very professional in their bedside manner and all of them record information about my visits in their internal patient records so the next person to see me has all of my background. They offer skin cancer analysis as well as travel medicine. I am so pleased it's my local GP and I can't see myself booking in anywhere else.

I first started going to MGPC when the bulk-booking clinic down the road was all booked out one day…read morewhen I was legitimately sick. This was back when I was a bit poorer, but MGPC taught me quickly that paying for consultations was worth it when the service provided was so, so much better. For general consultations I highly recommend Dr Kratzing, Dr Butcher (slightly alarming surname for a doctor but give him, his English accent and his monobrow a chance), and Dr Gilbert . For general consultations and lady business (because I am a girl and feel weird talking to boys about girl things), I highly recommend Dr Featherstone and Dr Munro. I'm not super picky with my doctors, so I'll generally book an appointment at a time that's most convenient for me rather than for a specific doctor, but in all my time going to MGPC I've only seen a couple of doctors I didn't gel with. Like all clinics, you may find yourself having to sit around for a while - I usually call up to check how far behind a doctor is running before I get in the car, but still end up waiting for at least one appointment ahead of me. I think the longest I've waited is around 45mins, but that was a once-off - 15-20mins is more standard. The waiting room has plenty of trashy magazines available for reading, and it's large enough that you can generally get cosy in a corner without feeling like you're playing a game of sardines (though during flu season it can still get pretty full in there). I've lived in a few different suburbs of Brisbane over the years, both near to and far from MGPC, but I'm very happy with the standard at MGPC and will continue to be a client no matter where in Brisbane I live.

As for reception staff- they're lovely! The place is clean, easy to find, next to an S&N/ M&L (blood test places) .. Conveniently near the train station and a bus station. And when that point comes you want them to be great. I feel pretty confident I've found that in the team at Market Street Medical. I mean, when was the last time your doctor called you to say your doctor was running late to save you sitting in the waiting room for 30-40mins? Sure, it throws your day out but at least you can do something else in those 30-40mins rather than sit captive reading Country Style or House & Garden. I waited several months to see Dr Maintsone (she's that much of a rockstar she has a hefty waiting list) after recommendation from a friend who, with similar plights to my own, sung her praises. After the first visit with Dr Mainstone I understood why. She's considerate, understanding and sees issues as pieces of a greater puzzle. I feel she's genuinely interested in the health of her patients and I appreciate her commitment to looking at the bigger picture rather than always reaching for a quick fix. It is because of Dr Mainstone I was able, towards the end of 2013, gain some closure and context around a few medical issues and finally not feel like I was the crazy one for talking of such symptoms. They are more expensive than other GPs I've visited and I personally am okay with this for the level of treatment and attention I receive. Doctors can be reviewed to, okay? And, granted no one wants to think about this kind of doctor too…read moreoften, but for some of us, we frequent their offices more often than a yearly check up. Dr Buttini was my "last straw". After about 18 months of stops and starts on this particular medical issue, I booked an appointment with Dr Buttini and was genuinely surprised at how quickly I was able to see her given her high-level of demand. Within a week of my consult with her, I was undergoing surgery to remedy said medical issue and I couldn't have been in better hands. She's done thousands of this particular procedure, and where other specialists had advised me I'd be in hospital for up to a week, I was home by 2:30pm the same day. Her techniques are innovative and work for you, the patient, to be back on your feet as quickly, and in as little pain, as possible. She is gentle and considerate while being matter of fact and giving you all the information you need. Finding a specialist as "on the ball" as Dr Buttini took me a while, but I'm thankful I did.

My GP, Dr Murray Bingham, is fantastic - he is considerate, compassionate and boasts a wealth of knowledge - treating everything from a broken foot (if he ever reads this - sorry I never wore the space boot!) to the flu. He often has university medical students training alongside him, who he encourages to come up with a diagnosis. My neighbour, who generally drives me there in time of need, has actually bumped into him during his break, shared a coffee and proceeded to ask how my foot was healing. As a first time patient, I was asked by one of the friendly receptionist to fill out basic paperwork. I was seen by Tram Nguyen, this was at random since I didn't know any of the doctors. Tram was very sweet, helpful, and caring. I felt super comfortable the whole appointment. After my visit was done and prescriptions were given, it was time to pay. I'm new to the Australian way of "bulk billing" using your Medicare card. I will say I was very thrown off when I was told I owe $115 for my visit because it was considered a "long visit" as opposed to if I had a standard visit it would've cost me $75. I was a little mind blown by the price I paid and will be looking for a doctor that does 100% bulk billing for the future, but overall KPG did what I needed and my experience was pleasant.

A male Nurse lied saying a patient refused medication and told him to leave the room. The patient was on the phone to another who can confirm the lies of the Nurse. The investigating person never asked to speak to the person on the phone for corroboration of the Nurses lies. Furthermore, the investigative person then accused the patient of swearing stating several "reputable" Nurses heard. The patient said they did not swear yet this fell of deaf ears. Of course a complaint made by the patient turns into the patient being blamed. When the patient asked what context the word was used, the Executive Investigator refused to say. When told the patient was on the phone and all conversations can be corroborated, the female Executive person once again refused to speak to the person on the phone to dismiss the lies of swearing. Why? Treatment was withheld by the male nurse for hours placing the patients life at risk. Nothing done with the original complaint by the patient about the Nurse. The lack of investigation is appalling. Blaming a patient falsely of swearing then refusing a proper investigation of their complaint is totally unacceptable.

She was my back-up physician because my primary physician only works two days per week. Dr Novic now works at Redlands Medical Centre and refuses to continue to treat me, even though I was under her back-up care at Mediwell for approximately 12 months. My primary physician still only works two days per week at a new medical centre in Carindale, so I urgently need a backup doctor who is very familiar with my history. Not only did Dominique Novic refuse to treat me, she chose to relay the message through the practice manager and reception. So, despite having severe, chronic illness, I am now left with no back-up care through a doctor who is familiar with my medical history, with no suggestions from her in regards to continuity of my medical care. This constitutes a gross violation of duty of care and her Hippocratic Oath to do no harm. I have filed a complaint through the relevant regulatory bodies, and I will be posting this review far and wide. When I recently had to break up with my GP of some number of years, I booked an appointment with the team at Milton Clinic on the glowing recommendation of a friend. I'm happy with their service and as a general rule of thumb can book in for an appointment the day of calling and certainly no more than the following day. I'll also note I've rarely had to wait more than 5 minutes over my appointment time, and even that is a rarity. Generally if your appointment is 10am, you're sitting in front of your GP at 10am. They've been a great support through a few health issues including, last year, finally identifying my two-week zombie state as a robust case of Influenza when other Drs had told me I was fine and to "just rest".
