I have been a customer at California Tan since 2010 and consider myself an occasional user of their…read moreservices as I usually only like to pre-tan before winter vacations once or twice a year. They sell you packages of minutes that never expire and so for me, it has always been a pretty good deal. I never had a problem until last month when I showed up on January 28th for a tanning session. Until sometime last year, they had been using a paper card system to track your usage and have since switched to a computer system, which is a good idea. However, unless you purchased your minutes within the last 2 years, they didn't automatically migrate your minutes to the new system. As I am an occasional user, this happened to me. The girls at the desk told me that it would take a day to get the card from the owner's home (not sure why the cards are not at the place of business) and that the only way that I would be able to get a tan that day would be for me to either pay a drop-in fee or buy more minutes from them. So, as I understood it, I had already paid for minutes, and if I wanted to access these minutes to which I was entitled, I would have wait a whole day. And in order to obtain the service I came for immediately, I was to give them MORE money. Needless to say, I was irritated and voiced this discontent in a stern but still, polite manner. The girls told me to call the owner on his cell phone, which I did right there. He told me that he would be going back to his home to get my card later that afternoon and he would call me to tell me how many minutes remained on my account. I get a call from the owner an hour and half later to tell me that I had 29 minutes left. He said he would reinstate these but that he wouldn't let me purchase more minutes after that as I apparently "yelled" at the girls at the desk. It was the girls' word against mine, but the owner obviously immediately sided with his employees. Also, he told me that I put up quite a fuss for JUST 29 minutes. So, apparently, at this place of business, the employees are unable to handle customer dissatisfaction and deal with it, and the owner is unable to remedy a situation which was clearly created by his poor management decisions regarding keeping the cards at his home (still not sure why they are not at the business). When you pre-pay for a service at any business, it is not a stretch to expect to have immediate access to it. Additionally, if you're a customer with ONLY 29 minutes on your account, you're apparently worth less than a customer with more minutes than just 29. While the facilities have always been clean and the beds effective, the customer service here will be poor if you're considered by the owner to apparently be a lower-class customer according to the number of minutes you purchase. As for denying me the "privilege" of purchasing more minutes from you, California Tan... I had already planned on denying you the privilege of my further patronage.

Also, my tan looks really nice. I will update if anything changes but as of now im really happy with the colour and the finish of it. I dont get spray tans often but when i do, im coming here again. My other family members had spray tans done from other places and not only did mine last the longest but also got the most compliments! I was constantly in the ocean and pools and as the other spray tans on my family members were fading/rinsing away mine was still looking great! I did get the moisture lock option and even after 8 days I could still notice the spray tan! I noticed that Rachel (the owner) really appreciates feedback (positive or negative) and seems to really care what you think as a customer. They recently moved to a new spot on 4th street which I think is WAY better than the old spot they had (which had crappy parking and was difficult to get to). They are hoping to open a spot in Aspen woods by my house, I really hope they do, that's the only drawback I have to it, I hate having to go downtown for the spray tan. It lasts at least 7-9 days on me and the colour is great. They could work on how they spray hands and feet but I figure these are pretty difficult areas to master. BRONZE BAXX WELLNESS - MARDA LOOP LOCATION…read more I am extremely grateful and appreciative for being referred to Bronze Baxx by a family member. In March 2024, I sustained some severe injuries due to an accident. I was living daily with (Level 10) excruciating chronic pain. My injuries included my lower back (L3, L4, L5, and S1); Muscle tears and tendon bruising to both of my arms, baker's cysts and torn menisci in both knees on both sides. My OT at the first hospital initially had me walk with a walker and over time I progressed to using a cane. An extremely debilitating and humbling experience as I am 63 years old and was very active for my age prior to this accident. I have had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital because I could not walk and the pain had literally soared through the roof; level 100 out of ten, if that is possible. There have been several treatments over this past year with one in particular being cortisone injections in the injured areas. Not only were my injections extremely painful to have. I had multiple injection sites given the injured areas and the strong level of pain I have/had been experiencing. The results for me were very short lived. There was some minimal pain relief received from the cortisone injections BUT they only lasted me a few weeks to 4 months at most. Doctors also tried an epidural in my lower back after the cortisone did not work. I thought great I finally have some pain relief in my lower back so I could somewhat function, however that too was short lived as the pain relief in that area only last approximately 4 months. As stated earlier, for me, the cortisone treatments and pain relief was not working long-term, and as you may know, there is a limited amount of cortisone that a person can receive in their body and I had several areas treat. Cortisone use long-term is NOT a healthy option in my opinion, but I had to try it to see if it would work. Long-term use of cortisone injections can lead to several damaging effects, including cartilage damage, tendon weakening or rupture and bone thinning. Though I knew the risks going in I just wanted to have relief from the daily excruciating pain. I have several amazing treatment providers which includes specialists in the fields of: - Sports Medicine (AKIC Clinic); - Acupuncture & Holistic Medicine (Dr. Don Fan); - Massage Therapy; - Chiropractics (Curo Chiropractic); - Neurologist and Electromyographer (Dr. Fridhandler) at the Alberta Neurologic Centre; - Pain Management and Resolution (Divergent Health Care); AND - Late last year I added Bronze Baxx Luxury Wellness to my team. I researched the services provided by Bronze Baxx to see how their services offered would cohesively work with my other therapeutic treatments. They suggested the "Ballancer Pro", "Red Light Therapy", and "InfraRed Sauna." Now, I am not going to list all the strong benefits one can receive by using these therapy modalities BUT the results for me having been amazing. Check those benefits out on Google as they are extensive and positive. In hindsight, I wish I would have added Bronze Baxx to my healing team a lot sooner; but in my opinion better late than never! It is choice that I do deeply regret for not adding Bronze Baxx way sooner especially now, knowing the benefits I have received ongoing since I started my membership; they are now a part of my valued team. All my girls working there are amazing. They are professional (no pushy sales tactics), knowledgeable, engaging with each person that comes in, good listeners, extremely accommodating for my special needs, and a true joy to be around. The place is incredibly clean, welcoming and well maintained. I always look forward to going to my Marda Loop location because it is peaceful, has great music, and inviting. I strongly suggest that anyone who is experiencing severe chronic pain like I have to give these services a try. And for those with no chronic pain, you will definitely be glad you did add them to your health and wellness list because we all deserve to do this.
