Short background story: I had been so afraid of dentists that I hadn't gone to one in many years, but recently I pulled myself together and faced my biggest fear. On the contrary of what I thought I would get - scolding and the likes, I was met with sympathy and understanding. My dentist Ulla Selmer was patient in explaining what's the "status" and what's need to be done. The first visit costs me 400kr for x-ray pictures and the likes but I thought it was going to be more expensive. And no surprise that I had to do a root canal soon enough because I have had a bad front tooth in many years, and I went to my first treatment two weeks ago. Surprisingly everything went smooth and I felt like it wasn't as bad as I had feared. I am probably risking of speaking too soon since I have to go back for more treatment in the upcoming months, but I'm just saying they're possibly the best out there. Not only they're super patient with you and explaining the details about the procedure and what it might cost you, they're super professional with the whole thing. I feel like I have been treated like a star there! Only five stars recommendation from here!

I had a terrible experience with the dentist named Nadia El-Makhokhi. First of all, my appointment…read morewas at 7:30 but she came to see me at 7:50. I waited with two other girls and we all have an appointment at 7:30, however, for an unknown reason, I was the one got to be seen at last. Secondly, she tried to persuade me to have a full examination on my teeth (I get it, she tried to sell me the expensive service) by keeps saying that "oh, we don't usually do teeth cleaning because you know, we don't know the condition of the patient and so on" (well, should've mentioned it when I made the appointment because I clearly told the receptionist that I'd like to have a teeth cleaning - which according to the dentist website is available). Then I told her that I will do the full examination next time, which led her to 'hand' me to her colleague (a new doctor, I presume, judging from the way she always refers to Nadia when I asked her about my future treatment plan) and she left. In the middle of the teeth cleaning, Nadia returned to the room and told me that "the bill is ready for you", and I replied, "okay, thanks". She left, but then returned again (within minutes) and told me that the bill will be 316 KR. When I paid for the service, I politely asked her how long will it take to do a full examination and she said it will be approximately 60 minutes. I asked her further, when should I get the full examination - considering that I just had the teeth cleaning - which she replied: "oh, you know, you can do it in a month, or two months because the next time it is going to be more than 2000 KR". Adding this statement to the way she keeps returning to the room in the middle of my treatment has led me to believe that she made an assumption that I don't know how the dental service works in Denmark (particularly the fact that, unlike other medical treatment, it is not free). Therefore, perhaps she thought that I was financially incapable of paying the service. While in fact, choosing this dentist was a conscious decision after I thoroughly reading the patients online review and I was well aware of their prices - I also wrote that I know the place from an online search on the patient form handed by the receptionist. Next time I will bring my bank statement to assure them that their service will be paid accordingly... not. I will definitely won't be returning to this place.
