The place is a smaller indian restaurant near parsipanny. Its got some desi vibes when you enter and has the ability to cater to a large group in the back room. Its BYO so can be economical if you're into having a drink with indian food. We ended up getting the chili chicken which was nicely cooked and had good spice level. The veg manchurain seemed too soft and in a basic gravy. The butter chicken was pretty good too. The kids got a saag paneer. It was too spicy for them however. Tandoori Flames is tucked away in a nondescript strip mall in Parsippany on Route 46. The largely positive reviews drew me in as I'm not overly familiar with restaurants in the Parsippany area. One thing to note is that they did offer a free dessert to anybody who left a review on Google, so something to be aware of as restaurants that tend to do this generally have inflated overall ratings on their reviews. While the place does seem a little drab from the outside, the interiors are wonderfully modern with an open layout and great decor. Other Indian eateries could take pointers from Tandoori Flames on how to decorate a restaurant without being too fancy or trying too hard for an elevated dining experience. I started off with a mango lassi (4/5) to drink which was refreshing and tasty without being too sweet, just the way I like it. For appetizers, we went with the katori chaat and the mixed vegetable pakoras (both 4.5/5). We thought they were both great preparations using high quality ingredients. For meals, we went with the methi malai mutter paneer and butter chicken (both 4.5/5). They had very delicious and flavorful gravies without any excess oil or butter used in the preparation. Naan (4/5) was tasty and fluffy, and generous in portion size. For dessert, we shared the gajar halwa (4.5/5) which was tasty and the perfect way to end off the meal. Prices were reasonable and in line with prices you'd find at other similar Indian restaurants in New Jersey. The biggest weak point was the service (2.5/5) as the wait staff simply didn't check in with us enough as they gravitated towards attending to larger parties, and we had to flag someone down if we needed anything else like water or additional rice. They also didn't make any effort to take the (tablet) menus after we ordered, so they just sat there off to the side for the entirety of the meal. A few weeks ago, my husband and I had dinner at Tandoori Flames on a Monday night after work. We didn't plan on going here initially, but luckily found TF after discovering that where we were going to dine was closed on Mondays. There were a couple of other guests there when we walked in. The restaurant was pretty quiet for most of the time. I believe there is a party room next door where there was an event with music - it wasn't distracting or loud, but you could hear the festivities from the main dining room. Our waiters were nice and made some menu suggestions. We went with my husband's favorite palak paneer and a tandoori mushroom (I'm a fan of when the waiter brings out a sizzling platter to the table). This place does not hold back with flavor or spice - very good! I also ordered my requisite Peshwari naan. Not all places have it, and every place that does have it on the menu will do their own spin, so I have to try. I liked this one - which was sweet but was more about the crush nutty flavor than fruit. Our waiter recommended we come back and try their lunch buffet. I went on vacation to New Jersey and New York with a couple of friends. After traveling around the city for a long time, I was really hungry, so I asked my friends to take me to the best food spot. They suggested Tandoori Flames in Parsippany, New Jersey. This place is just wow! The hospitality and the people here are incredibly nice. The food was served piping hot, which was perfect because it was snowing outside. I absolutely loved the food--especially the naan and curry. The naan was so soft, and the curries were packed with flavor. And the biryani--OMG, incredibly super! They also have a buffet, but when I visited, they told me it was closed--either because it was closing time or it had already finished; I'm not sure. So, they served me a alakat instead. Honestly, I would give this place 100 stars! The food was unbeatable, and I will definitely go back again and again whenever I'm in the city. This is hands down the best Indian food I've had. We only dined here at their lunch buffet. The buffet and main dining area are separated, which is nice, though there are tables in the buffet room so you can choose. Service was gracious, and they took care to replenish the water and Naan that my kids constantly devoured (Naan was def one of the highlights). So much lost time. Up until last night I didn't know there was an amazing Indian restaurant within a short drive from my home. All that changed about 12 hours ago when I walked into Tandoori Flames. My first indication of their quality was that the place was literally packed with Indians. While I'm no Indian food aficionado I took it for granted that they were and boy was I right. Ordered some tandoori and tikka masala chicken along with an assortment of naan bread and, without resorting to gushy hyperbole, it was amazing. Same with the service. Our server seemed genuinely concerned that we liked everything and asked our opinions about each dish. One point deduction for ambiance. If the decor was more warm and inviting it would have been easily 5 stars but let's face it, you don't eat decor. So if eating some amazing Indian food is your objective, look no further. They gave us a pitcher of water on the table so they didn't have to keep bothering us with refills. I ordered Garlic Naan and Chicken Tikka Masala and it was delicious. Other dishes at the table were Chicken Curry and Chicken Korma, which both of my friends enjoyed. The first portion of rice they brought wasn't quite enough but they happily brought us more when requested. One order of Garlic Naan includes 3 pieces, which they combined into one basket for table space, which was perfect. Overall, great Indian food, clean dining room, and friendly staff. I have been to the great majority of Indian buffet restaurants in the Northern NJ area, and I will put Tandoori Flames right up there. Excellent setting in that seating is in one side, while the buffet selections are in an adjacent room. I liked that, clean appearance. The buffet was regularly restocked so all dishes were fresh and full, and the assortment was nothing short of impressive. We were provided with a full pitcher of water for our table, which is so preferred to a server walking around and filling glasses upon visual inspection. A basket of oven-hot naan was placed down, and it was excellent. The chicken tika masala, which is the dish I use to rate the quality, was very much on par with others in the area. Rich and creamy sauce, super fresh chicken. I would like to see some more spicy chutney sauce options, that is one suggested improvement, but everything else was just out of this world in both flavor and presentation. The staff was very helpful, and they come to your table at the end to settle the bill. Just a very nice lunch experience and affordable at about $12 per. We will be back!! read more

My friends and I are at Tandoori Flames the other night. We ordered the fried cheese squares, which I thought of as a dry hot. Most of us ordered Chicken Tikka Masala for dinner although one friend did get Lamb Vindaloo. We ordered different types of naan as well and all were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves UNTIL we paid the check. We gave the waiter cash and 3 cards, telling him to split the remaining amount on the 3 cards. He comes back and tells us that the system would not allow him to do what we had asked. Instead, he put $30 on one card and charged the almost $300 remaining to another card!!! Luckily my coworker was not perturbed and just took the cash, but it was extremely poor customer service to not even let us know that before doing it. At least let us know so that we can figure out how to do it instead. If I ever go back, I will make sure to bring cash only so something like that doesn't happen again. read more

They had Khoya Kaju as their vegetarian curry option & I was like we have to try that as not many Indian restaurants have that. It was delicious.
