I have been planning to come to this restaurant for a while, and now that I have come here, it didn't disappoint. A good BYO located in a strip isn't easy to find these days. When you open the door, you get a whiff of their come at your face. Great lighting and pink flowers hanging on the wall. The servers have great recommendations if you're not sure what to order. You can tell they don't hold back on their food when it comes to flavor; with a variety of spices, you feel like you're in India!

Tandoori Flames is tucked away in a nondescript strip mall in Parsippany on Route 46. The largely positive reviews drew me in as I'm not overly familiar with restaurants in the Parsippany area. One thing to note is that they did offer a free dessert to anybody who left a review on Google, so something to be aware of as restaurants that tend to do this generally have inflated overall ratings on their reviews. While the place does seem a little drab from the outside, the interiors are wonderfully modern with an open layout and great decor. Other Indian eateries could take pointers from Tandoori Flames on how to decorate a restaurant without being too fancy or trying too hard for an elevated dining experience. I started off with a mango lassi (4/5) to drink which was refreshing and tasty without being too sweet, just the way I like it. For appetizers, we went with the katori chaat and the mixed vegetable pakoras (both 4.5/5). We thought they were both great preparations using high quality ingredients. For meals, we went with the methi malai mutter paneer and butter chicken (both 4.5/5). They had very delicious and flavorful gravies without any excess oil or butter used in the preparation. Naan (4/5) was tasty and fluffy, and generous in portion size. For dessert, we shared the gajar halwa (4.5/5) which was tasty and the perfect way to end off the meal. Prices were reasonable and in line with prices you'd find at other similar Indian restaurants in New Jersey. The biggest weak point was the service (2.5/5) as the wait staff simply didn't check in with us enough as they gravitated towards attending to larger parties, and we had to flag someone down if we needed anything else like water or additional rice. They also didn't make any effort to take the (tablet) menus after we ordered, so they just sat there off to the side for the entirety of the meal. Although we really enjoyed the food and would recommend Tandoori Flames to others, the service hinders them from any sort of consideration for rounding up to an overall 5 star Yelp review from me.

A few weeks ago, my husband and I had dinner at Tandoori Flames on a Monday night after work. We didn't plan on going here initially, but luckily found TF after discovering that where we were going to dine was closed on Mondays. There were a couple of other guests there when we walked in. The restaurant was pretty quiet for most of the time. I believe there is a party room next door where there was an event with music - it wasn't distracting or loud, but you could hear the festivities from the main dining room. Our waiters were nice and made some menu suggestions. We went with my husband's favorite palak paneer and a tandoori mushroom (I'm a fan of when the waiter brings out a sizzling platter to the table). This place does not hold back with flavor or spice - very good! I also ordered my requisite Peshwari naan. Not all places have it, and every place that does have it on the menu will do their own spin, so I have to try. I liked this one - which was sweet but was more about the crush nutty flavor than fruit. Our waiter recommended we come back and try their lunch buffet. After our great meal at Tandoori Flames, we plan to do just that!

I went on vacation to New Jersey and New York with a couple of friends. After traveling around the city for a long time, I was really hungry, so I asked my friends to take me to the best food spot. They suggested Tandoori Flames in Parsippany, New Jersey. This place is just wow! The hospitality and the people here are incredibly nice. The food was served piping hot, which was perfect because it was snowing outside. I absolutely loved the food--especially the naan and curry. The naan was so soft, and the curries were packed with flavor. And the biryani--OMG, incredibly super! They also have a buffet, but when I visited, they told me it was closed--either because it was closing time or it had already finished; I'm not sure. So, they served me a alakat instead. Honestly, I would give this place 100 stars! The food was unbeatable, and I will definitely go back again and again whenever I'm in the city. This is hands down the best Indian food I've had. The desserts were also excellent and super tasty. This place is truly a hidden gem in the city!

This restaurant never fails! It's become our go-to place for fantastic Indian food. It's not crowded during the week so we have no problem getting in and service is fine also. The menu is large enough to please many different tastes with several vegetarian choices. Don't hesitate to try Tandoori Flames. It may become your fav also!

Ordered the Noodles and Mutton Gravy again, and the taste was the same. The gravy was too oily though as usual, which is fine if that's the preference, but I had to remove the oil.

Beautiful restaurant. Service was good. The cauliflower was excellent. The assorted bread basket was delicious. Did not like the eggplant masala peanut. There were not that many mini eggplants and the oil separation was a bit off putting. The saag wasn't what we normally have had. Portions are much smaller compared to other restaurants in the area.

My complaints are that everything is very expensive now. Also, the chef does not know how to make a batura. I have complained about this before. It has bubbles in it like bread. I wish they corrected this.

I was incredibly keen to try A2B Indian Restaurant after hearing numerous glowing reviews,…read moreincluding a stellar 4.8-star rating from 7.4k reviews and a passionate recommendation from my fiancé's South Indian friend claiming they have the best masala dosas in the state. Given the difficulty of getting a reservation at my current favorite, Semma, this was meant to be my new go-to. Unfortunately, my Saturday evening experience was an overall big letdown. We arrived to a packed restaurant, with the parking lot at capacity, which certainly spoke to A2B's popularity. The interior was spacious, offering plenty of booths and tables, yet it was still quite full. We were seated quickly after a short 5-minute wait. However, once we sat down, the waiting game began. There was an iPad on the table with the menu, but we couldn't place the order ourselves. After nearly 15 minutes had passed with no server approaching, we finally flagged someone down. When the waiter did arrive, they offered no introduction and simply asked for our order before taking the iPad and leaving. For drinks, the Masala Chai and a Mango Lassi (made with pulp, not fresh mangoes) were both good; no complaints there. We ordered the main event, two Mysore Masala Dosas with the potato masala on the side. The food came out alarmingly fast, within like three minutes, which immediately made me suspicious. How the food was presented was perhaps the most jarring part of the experience, the small separate dishes for the potato masala and the chutneys were placed directly on top of my dosa! That's not hygienic at all, and to have serving dishes underside directly contacting the food was a bad look and presentation. Beyond the questionable presentation, the quality of the dosa was deeply disappointing. It was soggy and not crispy whatsoever. The speed suggested it was possibly pre-made and sitting under a heat lamp. The only saving grace of the entire meal was the sambar, which was genuinely good, almost as good as my mom makes it. Given this experience, I completely lost interest in trying the Palak Paneer or Malai Kofta I had initially planned on. We finished with the Pista Kulfi for dessert, which was just okay, with a heavy taste of cardamom that you'll love only if you're a big fan of that spice. While we were there, another family in front of us complained to the manager about the service, but the manager looked like he didn't care since business is booming for the restaurant. I wouldn't come back here again; there are much better spots for dosas and vegetarian Indian food. This was an overall disappointing experience.

However, the person who took our order was very friendly, and our orders were ready in 10-15 minutes as they said. We went at 5:30 PM on a Wednesday night. Out of everything we ordered, our favorites were the BBQ roasted pork, fireball roll, and the general tso's chicken. All these options are gluten free. They were so delicious, had great flavor and we had no complaints! We also got the chicken stick and "shredded heaven" which was tofu skin stuffed with veggies and vegan beef I believe. These were good but a bit forgettable and not nearly as good as our favorites mentioned above. My friend got two boba teas to go: coconut and taro. I don't like coconut so I tried the taro one which was fantastic, it tasted like a vanilla milkshake (flavor, not texture). I'm not huge on boba but the flavor of the drink itself was so good. We definitely want to come back to try more veggie chicken dishes, sushi, and mochi!

We were seated right away, although the first table felt a bit cramped, and the staff had no problem moving us to a booth. One thing to note is that there appeared to be only two people working the front of the house for the entire restaurant, so they were understandably stretched thin. Our server took our order promptly, and the food arrived surprisingly quickly. However, service was inconsistent throughout the meal. We had to ask for water after being seated for quite a while without any being brought to the table, and the iced coffee I ordered never arrived. I'm not sure if it was missed or simply not heard when ordering. As for the food, it was enjoyable overall. The pho had good flavor, although the accompanying fixings were a little sparse compared to what I've seen elsewhere. My daughter ordered the spring rolls and pork chop over noodles, both of which she enjoyed. Overall, this is a solid spot if you're looking for a quick and tasty meal. So large, that I had to hand over the car keys, afterwards. The Fat Cactus complimentary chips and salsa was AMAZING. First, the salsa had chunks of tomato, onions, and lots of basil. It was so throughly enjoyed, that we asked for a second helping, which they gladly obliged. Our selections were: Chicken Tortilla Soup (Rich chicken broth flavored with onions, tomatoes, corn, black beans, finished with a dash of cream, crispy tortilla chips, avocado, sour cream, and cheese). This Burrito was huge, all of the ingredients were well seasoned, and I took some home to enjoy during the NFL playoffs. The final item was the Tamales Chicken Pastor (Homemade masa tamales, stuffed with Chicken Al Pastor, served with red enchilada sauce, and topped with creamy sour cream). There is no bone or cartilage in the Vegan Rib Tips though the harder texture (of bone/cartilage) is possible to attain if one eats the meal at a latter time (without reheating though without refrigerating). The Vegan Rib Tips are so delicious; more sweet than savory, chewy though not gum, and offering a wonderfully satisfying flavor. Even as someone who isn't strictly vegan, it's easy to appreciate how well they execute these plant-based versions. Some dishes truly stand out and could easily rival their non-vegan counterparts, which makes it a fun and satisfying experience whether you're plant-based or just exploring. That said, while most items hit the mark, a few dishes can lean a bit heavy or slightly one-note in flavor. Nothing that ruins the meal, but enough to keep it just shy of a perfect score.
