Going for the more casual Indian restaurant look, the Curry Cafe is located on Chandos Road in…read moreRedland. It, like a few other places on this road, has a good reputation, and their food certainly lives up to it. Giving the name 'cafe' immediately puts the guests at ease, but the interior is nice enough to warrant it being called a restaurant. The food is uniquely wide ranging, with a number of options you don't usually see on an Indian menu - Haandi curries, for example. This is the option that I went for, and the meat of the chicken was good quality. I'm not too keen on spicy curries, but there was just the right amount of spice, so it was an enjoyable meal. It's excellent value for money; a main will cost around £6, with rice setting you back about £2.50. Worth a try - a good Indian in a nice neighbourhood.

Okay, I have a lot of good things to say about this place. Being a bit Indian cuisine fan myself I…read morehave tried a fair few different restaurants, and I loved this place so much that I've already been back a couple of times! Firstly - prices are cheap and you get great value for money! And if you don't mind eating a bit earlier, then they have a happy hour between 6pm and 8pm where for only £8 you get curry, rice and naan and can enjoy the great atmosphere of the place. Secondly - the food is actually amazing, and you get good portion sizes - I could only eat half of mine and they were more than happy to pack the rest up for a takeaway. The staff here are so friendly and they literally look after you from the moment you walk in, constantly checking that everything's okay - and the place is so cosy and comfortable, with a buzzing environment! Ahmed's offer all your traditional curry dishes, as well as a few chef specials - and they cater brilliantly for vegetarians, you can pretty much ask for anything that takes your fancy and they'll change it to a vegetarian dish. If you don't want to eat in then they also offer a free delivery service - they tend to take around 45 minutes to deliver too, which isn't bad! Overall I would definitely recommend this place - especially if you fancy a curry in a casual and friendly environment!

I want to start by saying just how much I love this restaurant, I have been here on two occasssions…read morenow as after my first visit I just couldn't wait to come back and try something else on their menu! Tamarind is a fine Indian cuisine restaurant, and is much more exquisite than your standard Indian. They offer a really attractive variety of interesting dishes and specials, as well as your usual curries like Korma, Tikka, Vindaloo etc... this really appeals to me, but you will find that it is very difficult making a final decision on what you want to eat as everything sounds so good. The smells from the kitchen are amazing as you're sitting there, so get popadums to start for something to pick at whilst your waiting. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, with white wooden terrace type designs giving the place a quaint feel. There is a good amount of seating, but in my experience it was very busy on a Friday night so perhaps book ahead if you want to guarantee a table. Price wise this place is also great as their meals are very reasonable, on par with most other Indian's in the area. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, it's a bit more classy than most Indians so it would be great for a special occasion meal as well as general family meals or evenings out with friends. If you are a fan of Indian food like me you will love Tamarind.

This place is definitely up there with my favourite curry houses!…read more We have had a few takeaways from here recently and they have all been delicious. I always go for a chicken korma and my partner has something different each time. Last night he went for a chicken tikka rezala which he said is now one of his favourite curries. The last time we ate from here we found that one rice wasn't enough for both of us so this time we ordered two. All our food was lovely, definitely no complaints. The decor is modern with a nice traditional feel and the staff are all really friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area or fancy a change from your usual Indian restaurant.
