Staff - very friendly Appointment - I went on a Saturday 7/19/25 to see if they were taking walk ins. They were booked. Took my info to call me at 9AM Monday. No one called. So I called instead. They got me booked last minute for 10:30AM 7/21/25. Got there waited, then was told she, Emma was running behind. I was ok with that. Stylist- Emma is a super sweet person Haircut- showed her a style I like. When the cut was done she styled it. My bangs were meh due to it needing to be trained. Well when I got home my hair was noticeably choppy and not well blended. Like it was rushed. When I tied my hair back in a ponytail I had a random chunk hanging. Problem resolved? Nope! I emailed them and no one responded. I kindly asked for a refund so I can get someone to fix it. I gave them a couple of days to respond and still no response. I even did a follow email and yet no response. If I lived there I would have gone in to get someone to fix it but I was on vacation visiting family as to why I asked for a refund. read more

Apparently kids are not allowed at this establishment. It does mention it on their website after you click on "salon policies" but I do believe it should be reiterated when booking an appt or even when you confirm an appt. Because not everyone checks the website. I just went by word of mouth. It's hard enough as it is planning your whole day around your child only to be stopped at the door and be refused service. I was visiting my daughter from out of town and due to touch up my roots. They kindly fit me in. Colorist missed parts in front and got the color wrong or didn't leave it in love enough for roots. So I have a band of a brassy light color by my roots and then my dark hair. Expensive mess up. I asked for a trim and long chunky layers. The trim was great but no layers. So I went back the next day. No one was available to fix it that day and I had to leave town. They gave me a spray can to touch it up myself. Bad business practice when you can't At least give a small portion of my money back for a job I could have done more proficiently with a box of 15 minute root touch up and $10. read more

So I was so excited to finally get a hair appointment. I am currently taking care of my daughter why my husband finishes up his last tour with USCG. So for me to get an appointment when he was visiting has been hard . Anyway I am new to the area and as arrive at the salon, parking is a little tricky. I find a place to park rush in as I know that stylist run on a schedule and was nervous about being a couple minutes late. I let the stylist know I am new to the area and parked on the street that is 2 hour parking. The stylist proceeds to sit me down and ask why I did not park in garage it is free. I again say I am new to the area and did not know there was a parking garage. We then start to talk about my hair. I mind you I don't know all the hair terminology and say I usually get a cut and some highlights. I have not had my hair done in almost a year as I explained in my email to the salon and on the phone when they took my credit card. I explain to her that I am just happy to be here and that what she thinks is best and has time for . So she goes and mixes her color and I look out the window and see that parking is 2 hours . Again being that I have not had my hair done I am unsure of how long this procedure will take. So she comes back starts putting color on me and I ask about how long does this take oh about 2.5 3 hours. So naturally I begin to panic as she tells me if I parked on the street I would get a ticket for sure. As she is trapping me in the seat with color on my hair. Also why is she saying if you parked on the street ? Did she not hear me when I walked in and said I parked on the street and I am new to the area? I also remember her lecturing me as to why I did not park in the garage ? Now proceeds to tell me 3 time I will be ticketed. Needless to say I was stressing and very uncomfortable thinking what am I going to do I don't want a ticket. So I say can you please take this color off so I may leave because I don't want a ticket. I also kindly say I feel that with me explaining that I was new to the area telling me my procedure time would be longer then street parking and that you guys recommend clients park in garage. Would ha been nice to know prior. She throws her hands up and says I am not responsible for your parking!!! I say I never said you were I just don't know what I don't know and I am coming to your place of business and to warn new clients would be beneficial for you and your time as well as the client to feel ok and not under time restraints . She then gets the manager who also says my parking is not her responsibility. As I say I understand that but now I am here and apologize for not knowing the parking situation. She then proceeds to say this happens all the time! I am thinking what then why did she just not have me move my car before applying color or provide me with a solution to my parking issue instead telling me three times I will get a ticket?? A solution that sounds great yes you can move you car while processing!! Ok well that sounds great ! The manger /boss leaves and I say I am sorry I hope we can start over and that I don't make you late for your next client. She then looks at me throws her hands up again ands says WELL. So now I just feel horrible embarrassed everyone is looking at us. So I say I came here to feel comfortable and feel absolutely horrible now I felt like no matter what I said or did she was upset with me and that I would rather leave. I personally did not want to feel as if I did something wrong for the next 3hours and politely walk out with my head down feeling as if I was scolded by parent for not parking the car properly after just getting my license. She also had the nerve to ask if I wanted to reschedule after I explained how hard it is for me to get away being I am currently a single working mom . Oh and she also told me no to bangs and no to pretty much anything that they would be extremely hard antlers I would have to style them everyday . Just an abrasive young lady and I hope she learns how to speak to people one day soon. As for me a previous business owner in Hawaii it's not an uncommon practice practice well w/ GOOD business to give a heads up about parking around there establishments especially if it's tricky and you will be there for a certain amount of time and the fact they thought that I was so out of line was just extremely weird to me . Just a mom that wanted to get her hair done and have some kindness thrown her way. However simple kindness and grace is hard to come by these days and you are definitely not going to find it at the tangerine salon with whatever my stylist name was. I will name her THE MEAN ABRASIVE BLONDE! So I cut my own bangs 2 days ago and have not had to style them once. Kaylynn Richards is my stylist and I cannot recommend her enough! I met her following a not so great color and went to consult with her the next day. After taking a look at what I wanted for my hair she had a game plan and gave me the confidence to be patient and wait to do anything to my hair for a few weeks (to limit additional damage). A month later she got to work and brought life back to my hair. Tangerine is also a beautiful salon with high-end hair products and a solid candle collection. SUCH a great experience here. I hadn't had my hair done in like 4 months due to Covid. I travel in my van full time so I have to find a new stylist pretty much every time I get my hair done. I had a decent experience at the last place in Austin although the stylist was very pretentious and it was crazy expensive for what I had done. I was hoping this wouldn't be my experience here in Bend and it wasn't! I'm currently trying to work my way up to a much blonder overall color from the dark brown I started with. Ashlee was amazing in figuring out what would be best for my hair so that I can obtain what I want without destroying my hair. Not only was she extremely talented, she's a super cool chick. I normally am counting down the time when I get my hair done but not this time - I was truly enjoying my time chatting with her. AND the service was so much more reasonably priced than I expected. I'll be traveling but I'm considering swinging back through Bend just to see her in a month or so when it's time for a touch up. I absolutely love my hair. Tl;dr - Ashlee is awesome. This salon blew my mind! It is located in Old Bend and right next to a parking garage (free parking on weekends! Yes! And free three hour parking during the week) They have some of my favorite brands of product for purchase (especially Orbe!) and I have to tell you I walked out of that salon feeling on top of the world! Erin was my stylist today and she totally got me. She made time for me to come in for a free constellation on Thursday so she had a game plan before I walked in the door for my appointment. She also gave me advice on how to best prep my hair for my appointment and we discussed how hair color changes over time do to environment and styling and what I may wish to do so that I remain happy as my hair grows out. I also love that Erin doesn't do the classic hair salon chit chat... what I mean is she is focused on what she is doing, she is willing to provide you with product advice, styling tips and tricks, and her professional opinion. I loved that she didn't want to talk about the mistakes my last stylist made, or my love life or my career. I know most people love that sort of thing but I was happy to relax with my fresh cup of coffee that was brewed right as I walked in the door and text my friends about how excited I was to finally be getting my hair done!!! I also felt very relaxed when I noticed Erin has the same type of hair as me: it meant she was going to know exactly what the pros and cons of my hair type are!! She even went so far as to show me different styling tricks on her own hair to answer some of my questions while my color processed. She also got my stick straight hair to hold a beautiful soft beach wave. I could cry I was so happy!! (It's still wavy!!!!!!) Lastly... my favorite part of having my hair done... having everything rinsed out and shampooed... So relaxing! Their salon/sink chairs were easy on my neck and back (bonus points+++++) In short: The prices of this salon are high BUT you get what you pay for in skill. The front desk is super helpful and sweet about helping you out with anything from scheduling an appointment to recommending product. Erin has taken my short drab hair to long and platinum, to a gorgeous copper with expert color application and hot heads extensions. Can't wait to see where she'll take my hair next time! As a guy with longer hair from growing it out during covid, and fine hair that can be pretty finicky, I got a recommendation to try Tangerine and was recommended Troy. Super happy with the outcome and despite the salon atmosphere, he's a great dude to hang out with while getting a cut. Back in July my daughter made an appointment to have my hair done for her wedding in October. I received three texts messages from the Tangerine Hair Salon looking forward to seeing me and the last was to confirm my appointment which I did. When I arrived on Saturday morning the lady upfront told me she didn't have an appointment under my name or my daughters. She searched a few times and tried very little to figure out a solution. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SALON and its owner, ROSA. She purchased the worst quality hair extensions I have ever worn in my 5+ years of experience with good quality extensions. They ratted and tangled so much I had to throw them away in 3 - 4 months only (after I was told they would last for a year). If that wasn't bad enough, she purchased a Halo for me which cost $720 which literally fell apart the first time I wore it. It is so thick and heavy that the little wire won't hold that hair. She refuses to take responsibility for her poor purchasing decisions, offers zero alternatives when selecting these products, and is VERY RUDE when talking about options. While visiting from out of town I thought I would get a trim to refresh my long hair. The stylist and I agreed on taking about an inch off and some soft layers, basically just keeping everything the same but freshening the ends to make it healthier. I ended up leaving with one of the worst cuts I have ever received. She added a ton of feathery short layers in the front, and added a bunch in the back, resembling a "shelf". Also, my hair is all different lengths at the bottom and blunt cut, no texturizing or anything. I already have an appt at home to get my hair fixed. I'm really disappointed because A. I am so disgusted in this salons business practices and lack do regard for their customers time. I made an appointment here a few months ago and saw Rosa for some basic full blonde highlights. It was okay, but I was not thrilled with my hair so I rebooked with someone else. When I showed up to that appointment on 9/22/21 on time, the stylist said I was not booked correctly and that she'd only booked me for an hour, and certainly not for highlights. I know mistakes happen, so I booked with her right then and there for an appointment today on 10/2/21. We discussed in detail, and with pics, what I wanted. Fast forward to today, 10/2. I show up for my appointment and the receptionist is confused as to why I'm there. They'd apparently deleted my booking and had replaced my appointment with someone else! That stylist was there today and said she doesn't know what happened. I saw the owner, Rosa, in the back of the salon while I was at the desk trying to sort this all out. Though the stylist I'd booked with and the receptionist both walked over to her and told her what had happened, I was left to be told by the receptionist there was nothing they could do. It takes me a half hour each way to get here. That's two hours of my life wasted because of their incompetence to schedule. It's not rocket science. The receptionist had the nerve to tell me she was working extra hours and doesn't know how to work the booking system. Listen, I just worked a 24hr shift and showed up to all of my scheduled appointments! This salon is in downtown bend and though it has lovely aesthetics inside, it is trash. I moved here a few months ago and have had so much trouble finding a salon that I can go to regularly. I'm used to paying $350 every six weeks plus 30% tip and products, and this is how you treat your customers. Btw the appointment they replaced me with was a root touch up, mine was a bayalage/full foil. I would've easily spent $500 there today including restock of hair product but will take my money somewhere else. The fact they did not offer anything to me, no rebooking, no product no discount or anything for all of my trouble is reflective on how much they lack respect for their customers. I was extra upset this morning as I worked all day and night before arriving, had a flat tire, and all this healthcare worker wanted was my dang hair done!!!! So disgusted!!! read more

Erin is hands down amazing! First of all I went to her to have my hair fixed. I went somewhere else and was devastated, my hair was a disaster. I was so upset. I thought she would tell me she couldn't fix it, instead I was very surprised how confident she was that she could fix it. She was very positive and went the extra mile for sure. My hair looks amazing I feel like myself again. She took her time and made me feel very comfortable and confident again. Rude. I have been going to Tangerine Hair Salon off and on for 6 years and have seen a variety of Hair Stylists. For the most part I have been very satisfied with the stylists, the service, the prices, and atmosphere. My daughter has also come on most visits with me - sitting well behaved, quiet, and mostly watching a movie on my phone. She gets her hair trimmed on some appointments also. My appointment with the regular fantastic hair stylist I use was changed unexpectedly and could not be rescheduled for a month out - so I called the salon last week and spoke with the receptionist. I was offered Today 9/1 at 9 am. I received my confirmation text message. My daughter and I were there promptly at 9am. There was no receptionist working and no one had me for an appointment. The Owner came out and kept asking me if I was sure I was at the right place. I showed her my confirmation text and said I was suppose to get a highlight. Another stylist came over and said her client didn't come and she could cut my hair. I didn't need my hair cut - my daughter did and I would love a highlight. She said she could help us out. We went back to the seat and another stylist said my daughter could sit at a station next to me since the stylist wasn't coming in for a few hours (close to 12 noon). My daughter sat with headphones on and put on her movie. The owner came by and said no kids allowed for their safety. I explained she has been coming with me multiple times and the policy was 12 yrs old. She is 12 years old. She said she couldn't be in the salon unless she was having a service. I told her she was having her hair cut. She said she couldn't sit there because the stylist was due in in 5 minutes. I said I was informed the stylist would be in at noon. The owner said well we might still be here at that time. I said a couple months ago I was having my hair done and I watched the owner to a client's hair while her baby sat on her lap. She said it is ok if it's a "emergency." What is an emergency at a hair salon? I've been a long-standing client, with a well behaved child that also has services done and in a matter of minutes my appointment was "lost", the owner lied to me multiple times, and we were made to feel extremely unwelcome. I never write reviews - however I will happily take my business to any of the other salons in town that would appreciate it. The owner of this salon is just rude. Just who ever is reading this - I work at the hospital full time plus some taking care of patients. I do not spend money on myself very often so this is a treat for my daughter and I every couple of months. That is why it was so upsetting. read more
