The space has great floors, walls of mirrors, and as a visiting dancer I felt welcome. There were beginners and advanced dancers - all friendly, and it seemed a lot of instructors were in the mix too. Great connection with WCS leads AND WCS follows, so I got my dance fix away from home for sure. Salsa leads covered On1 and On2, and it seemed the bachata leads were esp sweet/ generous, certainly patient with yours truly (not my forte). As a woman it felt a very safe environment and I'd love to go back. Super fun, thank you SCT and Seattle dancers!

Ben is very enthusiastic and cares a lot about his community. The location for fridays (have not been to Tuesdays) is pretty nice. From what I hear, their lessons are also a lot of fun. From what I've seen, the teachers are dedicated and passionate about teaching their students. You can't ask for a better swing venue in the area.

I love to support the local dance community, but I can't support bad business practice. I've been a Lindy Hopper for over 10 years and took a couple 1-day tap clinics that challenged me and sparked an interest in tap. When I saw Eastside Stomp was offering a Tap for Lindy Hoppers 3 month course for $150, I jumped on it! The class description sold the class with a wonderful description but did state no refunds. That's fair and I had no problem committing if we're learning. First class was like a tap class for children! We drilled a simple 8-count to death. Second class was worse. I had to ask Amy for more details (weight distribution, etc) since it she didn't explain basics unless asked. Horrible! I've taken enough classes to know a good teacher. Class did not deliver as promised, so I emailed Ben promptly to get a refund. He agreed, which was awesome of him. Problem is, I haven't seen the refund check (it's been over 6 months!). I've called, emailed several times, and even reminded him in person with no results. Poor business practice!! Even if they can't give a refund, a class credit would have been appreciated. But this is BS. I'm not rich enough to throw away $150! Recommendation: if you're looking for Lindy Hop classes, go to Chris Chapman of HepCat Swing in Capitol Hill. He'll take care of you! If they offer another no-refund class, I would suggest asking to audit the first class to see if you like the instructor/material before you commit the funds. *** Update on October 2014: Finally tried reaching Ben on Facebook and got a quick response (after no response via email). I am so grateful for his generosity, patience and can-do attitude…read more A week before leaving for our wedding in India, my (now) husband decides we should get dance lessons. How will we do such a thing in such a short time? Cue Robert. My husband literally called to see if we could come in that day. Without hesitation, Robert invited us to the studio. He made no promises about how far we would get, but said we could come today and tomorrow and make some progress toward a slow dance. We got there and got to work! Robert was incredibly patient with us (I was nervous and my husband has two left feet...) we had our two sessions and then he squeezed us in on a late Tuesday night to have one last practice. We left DanceSport much more confident and capable, and in the end, as completely better than adequate dancers :) Our first dance was magic- we were well prepared and comfortable in the moves Robert taught us. As my wife liked to say during the intro with Linda, I had two left feet, and I can't tell you how much reassurance and confidence Linda provided us that regardless of our lack of dancing experience, everything would work itself out. And it did! We scheduled 5 lessons with Linda before our wedding and one of the weeks we got Covid and Linda was still able to make time for us so we could get every second with her. She was very attentive, gave us an incredible baseline and foundation and by the end of our lessons, we felt so good about being able to perform in front of 160 of our favorite people. My wife and I agree that the dance lessons with Linda (and sometimes her husband) were the absolute favorite parts of our wedding planning and most of that was the enjoyment from Linda teaching us and getting to know her and her husband with each lesson. I took the Brazilian Dance class. This didn't feel like a typical dance class- the moves were very…read morefluid and the music was basically different beats and tempo of drums. The class was broken into 2 segments where the first part was dancing different choreography to each song as a whole class facing the mirror, and the second part was divided into groups of 2 or 3 doing short moves demonstrated by the instructors in rows. At the end we put all the moves we did in segments together. It was fun, and I'd say the level is intermediate+. It wouldnt be very easy to follow along as a beginner

Came here for the first time this evening for a kpop dance class. The facility was very beautiful…read moreand new. They had a lobby with some merchs and 3 dance rooms. The instructor for this kpop dance class, Emily, was amazing and fun to learn from! She spoke both Mandarin and English and was able to teach in either languages. The class was super fun and we had a great time. The only room for improvement was that I wished they had cubbies for storing our belongings. We had to put our jackets and purses on the floor. The 3 rooms were right next to each other, and we could hear music from other rooms during the class. But it was not a big deal to me as I was enjoying the class. Restrooms were shared with the building; no code needed. Parking was easy as the studio was in a plaza, and there was a parking lot. There were also restaurants in the same plaza that we could go to after the class.
