The attorney represents our home owners association. My hoa had me on auto debit and for whatever reason, that did not take or stopped. This firm was given my past dues and set me a letter the dues plus $400 in legal fees. After refusing to work with me they agreed to split the payment. I immediately sent the first half of the payment , which they received/applied on 05/19/25, and 2.5 months later (on 08/06/25) they have sent a new later, demanding more fees including fees to place a lien on my home. When they decided to accept splitting the payment there was zero mention of a deadline of any kind. It's my opinion that this should not be allowed, and may not even be legal. This is probably something someone should investigate so they aren't draining people of money to simply send letters. read more

i had the misfortune of having to deal with law firm.... that claims to be a debt collor for my condo association. when i went to pay off my lien, tankel law group employees were not only disrespectful but they deegraded me, grabbed their bill out of my hands when i question the legal fee they charged me for paying off my lien in cash. this was witnessed by an individual that came with me.... after i paid my lien in cash and asked for my change , this law firm claimed they don't give change and that they would mail me a check. the tankel employee's name is Kathy S.. she was nasty, disrespectful etc. she actually wrote my receipt out wrong claiming i only paid $63.00 instead of $6300.00. refused to give me the bill documenting what i was charged. i had to call the pasco sheriff's department to do a keep the peace in order to get my recipt. the sheriff's department actaully noted that attorney scott tankel claimed that Kathy S. had left the office and their computers wern't working when i asked for a copy of the paper recipt tankel employee took off of me....... within 30 seconds after scott tankel stated this..... low and behold, Kathy S. walks from the back of the office to the receiption area and handed me my paper bill. this law firm is nasty and anyone who deals with them needs to cover their behinds. document...document...document as a debt collector they need to abide by all rules/laws/statutes governing their actions and behavior as debt collectors. also.... please read the florida bar disciplinary actions taken against Robert tankel in 2009 when he represented a condo association read more
