    Mushy and saturated with oil.

The quality of food was not good at all. Literally threw away $30. Not fresh and mushy with oil. The salad had absolutely no taste at all. Disappointing experience even though I truly wanted to support this small business. ;(

Very good lebanese cuisine in a cozy ambience. Good prices and pleasant staff. Easy parking in a small strip mall.

It's a tiny little business. Ordered beef kabob plate. The food was ok... nothing really spectacular to boast about. I was in the area and decided to try it out this place. Maybe it'll be better for others who want to try this place

Everything about this place was great!! Food was delicious!! The service was excellent and extremely attentive!

In the process of getting lost looking for nearby Liquorama I stumbled across Tanya's and decided to grab lunch after visiting the intended target. I was the only customer that Saturday afternoon, but the proprietor was really friendly and took my order quickly. It was easy to decide, really; if I don't try Shawerma, then I'll get a kabob plate. Beef Kabob Plate it was, reasonably priced under $15 and includes salad, hummus, flat bread, rice (pilaf), and a skewer of marinated beef. It came out of the kitchen cooked to order, and everything looked great! I love how they shredded the lettuce of the salad, and the dressing looked and smelled great too. Lebanese prepared, the beef had a subtle marinade, not overly salty like many other places, and a carmalized texture from the grill. The rice pilaf is also a great side, and I enjoyed their hummus too. The good news is that after game nights down the street I can come here instead of fast food because they're open until 11pm Saturday night. I think my next visit will explore a combination Shawerma or kabob plate.

So happy to have found this place. Came with my friend after the gym and it did not disappoint. The food is so flavorful and high quality. The owners are super nice. The food is freshly made. It beats any other spot I've tried by far. If you're ever in the upland area you must check them out!

    Lunch Special Chicken Shawarma
    Richard C.

Taste: 3/5 Price: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Service: 3/5 The lunch special deal makes this place kind of worth it. You can get a chicken shawarma plate for $6.00 and it comes with rice, pita, and you can pick between salad or hummus. The actual quantity of food is not that much, though you are only paying $6.00 for it. It feels more like if you are craving a quick snack, this place is not bad. I've ordered the chicken shawarma plate once without the lunch special deal and it's not that much more food for double the price. The taste is nothing exceptional, everything feels very average. For the price and the relatively small portion size, I feel like it isn't too worth it. The ambiance of the store is not the best. It's pretty small and didn't feel that clean. Service is also just pretty average. It didn't take forever for the food to come out. Overall, I feel like I would only ever come for their lunch special which is only Monday-Thursday, and it'll be as a supplement to a main meal given the small portion size.

Combo Grill, Fried Kibbeh, and Sambosik
    Nickie T.

Great food at affordable prices. Came here for dinner to go with a friend. Ordered the combo grill, fried kibbeh and sambosik. There was only one employee in the restaurant who seems to be the owner/manager/cook. He was very friendly and took our order and disappeared off into the kitchen to start cooking. 15 minutes later he reappeared with a package of food that smelled wonderful. The kafta kebab was seasoned very well and tender, the beef was alright, the chicken was still juicy and flavorful. I enjoyed both appetizers. The sambosik are like eggrolls and the kibbeh is like a falafel but with meat inside. Would love to try the other items on the menu next time. Hope they get more business and continue operating.

WONDERFUL food, and very home like environment. Another beautiful small business that doesn't get as much recognition as they deserve. 10 out of 10 would recommend to anyone in the area. Service is wonderful, food comes out quick.

If you're looking for the definitive Lebanese experience in the IE, this is the order to beat. The Breakdown: * The Trio Grill: You get a sampling of everything--chicken, beef, and kefta kebabs. The chicken kebab was the standout for me; it was incredibly tender and had that perfect open-flame char that you just can't replicate at home. * Baba Ghanoush: This was a smoky revelation. You can taste the fire-roasted eggplant in every bite, and the texture was perfectly whipped and creamy without losing its soul. It's easily some of the best in the area. * Tabouleh: So many places use too much bulgur, but Mezzaterranean does it right. It was a bright, herbaceous explosion of fresh parsley and lemon that cut through the richness of the grilled meats perfectly. * The Extras: It all comes together with their fluffy rice and warm pita. Pro tip: use the pita to make little "mini-tacos" with a piece of chicken, a dollop of baba ghannouj, and a pinch of tabouleh. The Verdict: The portions on the Trio Plate are massive (definitely enough to share, though you might not want to). Everything tasted fresh, vibrant, and authentic. It's clear this family-run spot puts a lot of heart into their recipes. 10/10, will be back for more of that garlic sauce!

The filet mignon kebobs are usually my favorite item on the menu; however, since my husband ordered them, I decided to try the sea bass so we could share. Everything was so fresh and amazing! The kebobs were cooked perfectly and they were so tender! The sea bass was also fresh and prepared nicely; however, it was not a thick white sea bass filet like I was expecting. It was half of a small sea bass grilled with tail and skin in tact without the head. Very fresh, flaky and tasty, but different. The salad and hummus were amazing as well and we ordered a side of garlic sauce. We also ordered two beers, two mixed drinks and dessert. The dessert was absolutely delicious! What made the occasion even more special was our Server, Jetmira! The Manager said she's been employed there for over 20 years. I can understand why. She was wonderful (outstanding service, warm and pleasant personality and knowledgeable about the items on the menu)! My husband had never been to Open Sesame and he was so impressed with the food and service! We will definitely return again soon! Thank you Open Sesame and Jetmira!

The filling of rice and ground beef is soft. The eggplant is much softer. They are cooked in a tomato sauce and served with a cool creamy yogurt. Babaganouj: This mezze is a roasted eggplant dip. The eggplant is mashed with tahini and lemon juice for a smoky and slightly bitter flavor. It's smooth, creamy, and a bit chunky. Parking: There's a little lot to the side.
