I was able to get in here for a last minute (literally like 15 minutes before the appoinment) massage. I liked the space, it left me with a good impression and it was relaxing. I got a one hour tao full body massage which is a decent price. She used quite a different number of methods on me, she did the Ashiatsu which was a first for me....very different having someone walk on my back, not entirely pleasant but great for working out the knots. My neck was too tense for her to continue as she said that I would be too sore the next day so she just continued with the deep tissue massage using her hands (wow do those little Asian ladies have strong hands) and a series of stretching. She informed me I should take some aspirin, a long hot bath and not work so much since I was so tense....the life advice was free, but she was funny and I had an overall enjoyable time. I had gone to a few massage places in Austin and Round Rock and was not impressed. So I did some research and decided to rely on the five star reviews I'd seen for Uma. I needed someone who knew the body and specialized in stress and limited range of motion. I was NOT disappointed. Ima got straight to the issues in my neck and shoulders. She has strong hands and the pressure was pinpointed exactly to the areas I needed help with. I had only told her about my neck issues so I was happily surprised when she discovered my limited range of motion and rotator cuff issues and started working in n those areas as well. She also managed to find an area in my lower back I hadn't mentioned that had been bugging me for a week. Uma was very professional and knew the body and how to knead put problem areas. My appointment was with Andrea S and she was absolutely better than I anticipated. She was really good about understanding and communicating the area I wanted her to focus on. This was the worst massage experience I've had. First of all, the pressure was excruciating and the woman didn't seem to understand when I asked her to lighten up, too deep. I was taken aback when she climbed up on the table and sat on my butt. I get a lot of massages, but I've never experienced anything like that. Also, she would pick up the end of the sheet and flap it so that my entire body was exposed. I'm not shy, but every time I've had a massage, the draping was very professional and precise. I read the reviews. I know this is a chain but they really seem to care about their customers. The "menu" is varied. I used to get 30 minute chair massages when I used to work for the state. They offer that but they also offer more intricate kind of packages as you can tell from the other reviews. I too own a franchise so I guess this must be a similar kind of franchise concept as it seems to have a "personal touch". Definitely not the "McDonald's" of massage! I must admit if I did not have prior experience with massage I might have been like a "deer in the headlights" but the therapist kept asking me, "too hard, or harder"? About six years ago my husband and I went to get couples massages for our anniversary, he had been there many times and absolutely raved about it. Well I must have gotten a new girl. She hurt so me bad and ended up damaging nerves in my lower back right under my sciatica, so now and most likely for the remainder of my life I will have very bad radiating pain. I called to let the owner know I had gone to the doctor and have nerve damage. He did offer to refund me, but the damage is done. I have very bad pain from my sciatica through my leg and up to my neck and my arm sometimes feel numb. Wow! Words cannot explain what a different yet unique massage that I had. My massage specialist was Norma and I low key fell in love with her! This place definitely knows what they are doing because typically I'm used to the massages where it is very spa-like and they just use a lot of lotion and just rub you. But Norma asked me what was hurting, what is sore, and any areas she should focus on? I explained I have scoliosis and typically my shoulders and back gets very tight since I work in front of a computer over 12hrs/day. She proceeded to suggest that I start face up first since she'd like to work on my front to help release the chest muscles and neck then move to the back. Once she started I wish I had more time because 90 minutes later time was up and I wasn't ready to leave. She was very knowledgeable and explained everything about why she is massaging at this certain pressure point. She was always making sure her pressure was good or if it was too much. After the massage, I felt so much lighter and it felt like she massaged all my stress away! You might think I'm over exaggerating but it was truly a great massage experience and I am definitely going back again and again to see Norma! read more

First thing's first: the map & location listed here are wrong. It's actually on the other side of I-35, near Sprouts. The Good: Inexpensive, thorough massage by courteous, friendly & knowledgeable staff. The Bad: Quality varies by masseuse/masseur. Most of the massage rooms are only separated by curtains, so sound carries pretty well -not the best if you're in the front of the establishment, because you can hear the phone ring (quietly). The Ugly: I went there with my family, and all 4 of us got massages. Mine was great, but one of my family members got a massage by someone with a rough callus on one of his hands, so that kind of... chafed a bit. And another masseur was a smoker, so he smelled a bit like smoke during the session. Overall: I'd go back. For the price, are you kidding me!? Next time, I'll ask for deep-tissue, but compared to what I can get in NYC for the same price, the quality of work by my masseur here was way better. Get yourself a massage and feel better! I don't know the name of the male owner (seems to be a husband/wife combo), but I recommend him - he usually comes out front to greet customers, and is the tallest of the massage therapists there. I have tried four different "therapists" at this location and have found two things that were consistent among them: 1.) The sequence of the technique in the "combo" package (soaking the feet in tea water, starting with the scalp and moving down the body to the feet, then flipping the client over on their belly to work the back) 2.) None of them actually did "reflexology" on the feet. Little time or effort was spent on the feet and it was nothing more than a decent foot "rub". The bodywork felt great until the last therapist started to push with both hands and all her might directly on my spine. Although she was small of stature, because she straddled my hips, the position she was in gave her a great deal of leverage and she kept pushing down on the spinal column itself...I suppose she was trying to get it to crack. I've had a lot of deep tissue, trigger point and myofascia work done over the years and can tolerate high levels of discomfort...but it felt like my lungs were being crushed. Coming away from that last session it was clear that although the time/cost ratio is very reasonable, there is probably a good reason for that...there is no "intake form" and thus no communication on any physical problems a client may be walking in with that would require caution on the part of the therapist. . read more

The therapists here are STRONG if you are looking for a deep tissue massage and also accommodate to Swedish massages etc. The front desk people are also wonderful. The chair, table and foot massages are all great. Do yourself a favor and book a massage already because they won't let you down! I came here the first time about six weeks ago needing a DEEP tissue massage for my neck and back. I was suffering from migraines and compounding headaches. I literally could not turn my head from side to side. I scheduled a $60 1 hour massage with Nadia, focusing on my upper body. I'm telling you- this chick had some HEALING POWERS! Such amazing energy. She was firm, consistent, attentive and nurturing. It was like she knew every ailment I had and fixed it with such ease. She was so calming and sweet. It was like she was my mom or something! Very disappointed! I pre-purchased a 6-session package in June of 2021 and have not been able to use it yet. I was very selective about choosing a salon because of Covid and was initially happy to find a place that could set me up with a vaccinated therapist. I assumed I'd be able to take advantage of the savings with a package but boy was I wrong! Since then, I have tried 4 times to book a massage. The first was with the therapist I first saw. Made an appointment and it was canceled because she left. Made 3 appointments since. Twice I was assured the therapist I was scheduled to see was vaccinated and it turned out neither were! I spoke with staff there and expressed how frustrating it's been to get a massage for the last 6 months and I was told the manager or owner would call me. I never got a call from either of them but was contacted by a very nice staff person who worked to find someone to set me up with. That appointment was canceled too because she was ill. I respect a person's decision to vaccinate or not, but as a customer, I expect the same level of respect for my requirement to only have a vaccinated person for a service as personal as this. I called again last week to speak with the manager for a refund. I paid for services that I haven't received. And of course, I've yet to receive that promised phone call from the manager/owner. I have never put a negative review out there for any company but, buyer beware. I'm sure there are other businesses out there that will not just sell you sevices, but also care enough about their customers to deliver on their promise. read more

I've been to this place twice already and by far my favorite place I've ever gotten a massage at. I know people say it depends on the person you get and me being a girl, I always worry ill get a guy which would make me feel uncomfortable but I've gotten the same girl each time her name is "NOI" and she was great! She talks to you just a little to make sure that you are ok, and shes really polite. Don't let her small little frame fool you, she has really strong yet soft touching hands. I always get the full body tao massage. She wipes you down with a steamed warm towel when she's done using a bunch of lotion so you don't feel all sticky which I love. To Improve: its is a small place, and they could really use a bigger space since they have a couple chairs where they do massages out in an open room. They have always placed me in an in closed room so that has never been a problem for me but I could see how it could be for some one else. In fact, this is the best massage place I have found since I moved to the area. The place is nice, clean and the staff is very polite and acommodating. I've been here a few times and have tried different massages and I've liked them all. At this point I don't think you can go wrong. Other places I've been to you pay more for less than what you get here. When they say you will get TWO hours of massage, they mean TWO hours. There is no wasted time. My line of work has me sitting in front of a computer for HOURS, and one visit to this place will get the kinks out like no other. LOVED my massage here! I am always looking for a good Chinese massage studio because I need good deep tissue work and hate paying a ton of money for someone to just lightly rub my back. They got me and my fiance in right away. The lady I had was very responsive and good when I told her to increase the pressure. I did the Tao massage which was amazing-the stepping on my back was incredible-the amount of counter traction and pressure achieve when she steps on my back is unique and felt so good. I came here last minute because I was having neck pain on my right side. The masseuse I had really worked the knots in my neck! It hurt so good. It was one of the most intense, but best massages I've had. I really liked the leg stretches she did toward the end and I am really impressed with the work she did on my neck in an hour. I came here with my mother after she got off work. The reviews made Tao Massage the clear best choice for reflexology massages in the area based on location and price (only $35 for an hour!), so we came here! I called three hours in advance for two appointments and they had an opening, so we were lucky. We came in a few minutes early and were immediately seen, even though it wasn't quite our appointment time. You take your shoes off and keep them in a little shelf just outside the reception area before going into the room, and ours had two small beds fairly low to the ground. We lay down and our two therapists, Mr. Dan and Mr. Tom (I believe), brought in tubs of hot water for our feet. After we readjusted to be able to fully submerge our feet in the water, they started with a head and scalp massage that was heavenly followed by a neck and arm massage. I've been hitting the gym a lot recently, so the arm massage hit all of the sore parts! This first part took about fifteen minutes, at which point they dried off our feet and put it on a stool so they could start working on them. They use a mixture of reflexology and Swedish techniques on the feet and calves, providing both pressure and relaxing strokes. I'm pretty sure I fell asleep at one point because it seemed that I had just started relaxing when they told us they were done, but forty-five minutes had passed! Apparently they used to also include back massage in the reflexology massage, but no longer. Lots of pros about this place: great technique, I felt a lot less sore after the massage than when I came in, and the music they played was a combination of ocean waves and soothing instrumental music. A few cons: while working on my neck and arms, my therapist didn't always use enough lotion, making it hurt a bit. Also, their towels are very scratchy and I felt that my therapist took a layer of skin off while drying my legs and feet. However, the cons aren't enough to deter me! I've been to Tao Massage now for years! I was disappointed in that today I (we) went in for services and the receptionist encouraged us to go elsewhere. She said, "The guy that does foot reflexology is on vacation and we can't accommodate a group. You can go down the street to Foot Heaven" First of all, we came in together but we were not looking for any group activities/services. WTF! Second, we didn't have a chance to change our services due to the receptionist making recommendations for us to go elsewhere. With that said, I have to thank her because Foot Heaven was 10x better! The experience was a-m-a-z-i-n-g, to say the least! Futhermore, I don't have to fight traffic nor search for a parking spot at this location!
